Time for a better way to manage powers, perhaps?

I wish we could delete powers in those trays ( temporal, inherent, etc) and devs manage a way to let us add them in a later time if needed.
I never wanted the pre-order run powers, the vet. pets, and useless crap like shadowry presence in the first place.

Hell yes. I had a terrible time on my older characters in the Kane trial, scrabbling through massive lists of temp powers trying to find my perma-temp cossies before the monster dies at the end.

Wow, I hadn't thought of a Kender in a long time. It actually took me a while to remember what one was.

It empties your power trays. This makes it easier to put your powers in the right place as you don't have to swap them all the time (especially handy if you respecced because a respec puts all powers randomly in the trays)

Ouch!

Very accurate, sadly. True, but as they say, sometimes the truth hurts.

Thank you. I assumed that's what it would do, so I'm glad I asked. I would not find that easier. The powers list like the OPs original post dempnstrates is too big a pain to use more than I have to, in my opinion. I'd rather just swap the icons around in the trays, myself, but I'm glad that /cleartray is available and works for some people. I'll go back to hoping for /savetray and /loadtray.

A Kender will steal anything that is not nailed down. And the ones with claw hammers will that that stuff too. Mine carried 2 claw hammers. And all the maps. always all the maps. That way when I got petrified, they had to change me back to get the maps to where we were going. (It took them almost 20 minutes to realize that me being quiet was nice, but getting to the required location was more important.)

Note that it doesn't remove any macros from your trays, so if you have some particularly elaborate custom macros and/or a lot of macros you won't lose them.

i only use cleartray after a respec because i have 3 trays of nothing but crappy temp/inherent powers thrown into my tray randomly (come to think of it now its usually closer to 4 or 5 trays), saves me like 25 min of finding and dragging powers around to where i want

the only thing cleartray will not remove is the AE comlink accolade power

There are some things in this game that can only be defeated with a stolen SMG and a vial of bees. I'm not sure what those things are, but if I ever do find out I will shoot them and throw bees at them and win while you will be screwed.

On the very first page of the creator is a blatant grammatical error. I find this even more inexcusable than all the UI problems (and yeah, I've forgotten to pick my secondary too.)

Edit: None of my GMs allow Kender in their games. Kender are either annoying or out-of-character. Don't forget, they used to have taunt as a racial ability.

Reminds me of a great game one Saturday evening, sometime around Halloween many years ago. We players thought that the DM said the story was entitled "Redneck Relic." During the game one of our characters looked into a mirror and found out it was really entitled "Rednek Rellik."

I've been saying this for a long time.

I understand why there are so many temp powers, but they are horribly disorganised and contribute most to the mess IMO.

I guess one initial solution would be to have two categories of temp powers: Earned Temporary Powers and Purchased Temporary Powers.

Similarly Inherents could be subdivided - and also use both sides of the window for other powers. I woudln't object if it became a full screen like enhancements but that may take some tweaking when you want to slot specific powers

What you really need is a macro that randomly selects one of your temps while saying "Hmm.. What've I got in me pocket?"

Hehe, your GMs would have hated me back in the day. Kender open doors, all of them. Immediately on sight. Yeah, I was one of *those* players. My Kender was a menace, a short lived menace, but a menace all the same.

My valley elf on the other hand was totally, like you know, just annoying or whatever.

Yeah...thanks for letting know Silas.

I'd love a kind of pop-up menu with Temporary - Submenu - Toggles - Subemenu - Summons and so on to make things more streamlined.
An item similar to the Salvage submenus would be ideal, just open up your temporary powers folder and go from there.

Interestingly enough the code for this is at least partially written. If you switch from one build to another on the same character all of your powers move around to where you placed them on that individual build.

New code would of course there would have to be some exception code to leave blank spots for powers you no longer have, and skip adding powers you didn't have before, and roughly a half million things I am sure I'm not thinking of (see standard code rant), but I would *LOVE* these commands to be added to game.

I love you.

Anyways, It would really be handy if I could make very specific trays. Like a 1 by X tray, instead of the standard of like 12. Its really frustrating when I want a vertical tray for my toggles and I have like 6 open slots cluttering up my U.I.

Alternatively, a special invention converts all your temps into a single wand of wonder.

I'll give you that. I have made this error, or a variation (pick a primary but select no power) on every single new character I have created since I returned. Dont think I made even a throw away character where I got a "you must select a power" error.

But at the same time I found it insanely fresh and up to date visually. The old interface, although functional, was still... not sure how to say it... too toned down. It did it's job but it was not flashy enough. Out of the costume editor, there was little to be excited about.

BTW, since we talking GUI design, is it too late to say that I always, from day one, loved the Enhancement Merging UI and animated creation, and that I was always disapointed they didnt use THAT same design for inventions?

Yea, agreed on those issues. For capturing the attention of new players (i guess the big goal) with the new eye candy, it works. But there are issues, and I think some go beyond the UI itself. With this one, I think they should sort of scrap the ability to start in Pretoria, and only allow you to experience it's content eithe via some story arc that sends you somehow there, or via Ouroborus.

Have not gone there again, but it can be frustrating to go there and be one of the very few players in the zones. It's a choice you should not even have to do.

BTW I agree with all your other points, I just didnt pour much thought on it the times I went through them. Was never in a critical mindset.

While we are on the topic of problems with the UI, for the love of God, can we fix the issue with mouse movement sporadically triggering an interface click when you stop moving. It is downright frustrating.

For example, it is not uncommon, when teamed, and using the mouse to move, to see "You have quit your team," when I stop moving. Lately, it actually seems to have gotten worse. Twice within the past week, I have suddenly found myself in the "Combine Enhancement" screen with no reasonable explanation of why the UI would register not one, but two, interface clicks while I was moving around with no cursor arrow in sight.
