It was a car seat with blood all over it. I think that would be disturbing enough for most people.

But then again, I may just be reading too much into how they shot that little scene. But it did seem to bother him quite a bit.
I thought that was just him realizing that there *was* a baby there, and now that baby was most likely in the bellies of some walkers. I think that would bother anyone, without any need for knowing who the baby was.

Sure, if you count the red shirts.

Hunting season, camo & high visibility...DONE!
Time to move onto the next arguement/debate please.

Im waiting on the experts to weigh in on the blood & the car/baby seat scene.

person 1) Obviously the child was killed by its parents with a small caliber handgun based on the splatter pattern...Id say a pearl handled 22.

person 2) WRONG! I failed a semester of Forensic Science and if you look closely at the blah blah blah, you can tell that the projectory of blood splatter is clearly from a large bite to the side of the skull.

But you read the book, you know more are to come. Even if they decide to keep certain ones alive for longer, it's probably still imminent. By the nature of the show and all of the characters that come in and out of the cast (of the book), there is a necessity for a lot to die and/or "leave," otherwise they'd be on the run with a 30-member party.

Thanks for eight fun years, Paragon.

TWD has already gotten greenlight for season 3, based on the ratings for the first ep of this one. There's going to be 13 eps for this season, with six now and the rest starting in Feb. of next year.

Think what got T-Dog about the baby was that it was probably the kid's mom or dad that ate it. That's pretty damn depressing to think about.

My complaint isn't so much the killing off of characters or the lack thereof, but rather they aren't doing anything interesting with them to give emotional weight to their deaths or extra time alive.

There were only a few deaths in the comics that had any weight to 'em to begin with. And that was only by the time it got to volume 5 or 6 of the TPBs. Most of the people were simply redshirts, which is what you are going to need for a zombie show.

(IMO)

There weren't many deaths before they got to Hershel's farm in the comics, really, but at least it didn't waste valuable space on characters you had pegged for death from the start.

There were three that I can remember offhand before they got to Herschel's.

But you are right about the space thing. It's not like Sarah Connor Chronicles where they waste half a season on an utterly useless meatsack only to kill her off.

Think it was Jim, Amy, and you know who (have we established rules on comic spoilers yet?). All of them had more emotional weight to their deaths than wifebeater, some black chick who apparently doesn't even warrant a name on the Wiki page of characters, and the douchey scientist.

And are you talking about John's girlfriend?

Forgot about Jim. I was thinking Donna (the twins' mom), Amy, and the unnameable. That makes four before Herschel's place and they weren't exactly a big group.

Ya, talking about her. They wasted half the damn second season dealing with how she was to get John to love her or some stupid **** and then she kills herself. I think she was a big part of what killed that show.

Was the community before or after Hershel's farm?

And I remember now. I'm deeply concerned that the writers of this show will try to draw everything out too much.

The gated community was before Herschel's. They mention it in passing to Otis and Patricia and they comment on knowing about that place.

Hmm I'm not sure. I could've sworn that once they got to the gated community there was talk of going back to get the folks at the farm, but maybe I'm confusing it with the prison?

Anyway, I would've preferred Donna over that lady who "opted out" with Jenner, but it seems like they've given some of her loudmouth qualities to Daryl.

Yep, you're mixing it around. It was when they got to the prison that they went back for Herschel and his crew. It was then that they put Herschel's farming knowledge to use and started digging up the grounds of the prison to put in gardens.

I know that part happened, but I'm trying to work out the timeline between (**** it, I'll just say it) Shane getting shot and them finding the gated community, because Carl getting shot was what brought them to Hershel's like on the show and I don't remember Shane being at the community.

*MASSIVE SPOILER TERRITORY*

That's because he wasn't.

Rick and Shane end up arguing about moving the camp when they are outside Atlanta. Rick wants to move because it's getting cold and snowy (does it actually snow there? I don't have any clue.) and Shane thinks that the Army is going to come over the hill any day now. They argue about it a couple of times while at the camp. The last straw is when Amy gets killed and Jim gets bit.

Rick and Shane go "hunting" in the woods and Shane spills his guts about loving Lori and how Rick coming back messed everything up. He pulls his gun on Rick and Carl shoots Shane through the neck. They bury Shane and get on the road.

They get to the point where they are almost out of food and find the gated community. (Slightly prior to this they find the black football player whose name I forget ATM, his daughter and her boyfriend.) They start recon'ing it and stay for a night. The next day Rick sees the sign about everyone being dead/zombied in there and to stay out. They beat feet and Donna dies.

They are then on the road looking for pretty much anything. They stop at one point and go scouting. Rick, Carl, and Glenn(? not sure who the third is) are in the woods and Carl gets shot in the back by Otis. There is no deer. It appears that Otis thought he was a zombie.

I guess what confused me was how and when they addressed his death when Carl and Rick came out of the woods without him.

I don't recall them actually addressing it much. I think most of the people there knew it was coming at some point. Dale certainly knew it was going to come to a head someday.

Sometimes, not often, but sometimes it does get cold and snowy in North Georgia. We got three heavy snows (for here) last winter, we usually only get one.

That being said, I live an hour NE of Atlanta, so we have slightly different weather, especially with, just going by the show, not the comic, they are supposed to be heading south toward Ft. Benning and my old hometown of Columbus.

Living south of Atlanta I could count the number of significant snowfalls on one hand, with me living there off and on for 17 years. But yeah, it still gets cold, just not that snowy.
