The thing that bothered me about Andrea's gun was that you'd think she'd know at least a little bit about how it worked and how to put it back together already. Sure I don't expect her to be super-SWAT trained solider, but still if her father gave her that gun you'd think at some point she would have learned the absolute basics about it.
|
Remember in Season 1? When she met Rick for the first time and pointed the gun in his face? He told her afterwards she had left the safety on. She's had the gun, but apparently has never used it or learned how to use it.

It just struck me as odd that she'd be completely clueless when it was already established that she and her sister spent a lot of time with their father camping, fishing and doing other outdoorsy things. Of course they did establish that she didn't even know about the safety on that gun in the first season so it seems like the writers can't decide if she's completely clueless in this area or not.

The COMPLETE paragraph you were commenting on:
Do people not bother to read complete posts anymore? I literally mentioned the "trigger safety" scene in the very same paragraph you decided to comment on. |
I assume that the argument is mostly established in the opening sentences of a paragraph and that thoughts would be separated into individual paragraphs
So, in the future, separate your thoughts into separate paragraphs so that they read as:

you're = Contraction meaning "You are."
Ur = The name of an ancient Mesopotamian city.
ur = This is not a word.
Do I have the time or sanity to sit and read every single post? No.

If a paragraph that's only FIVE lines long is now considered a "Wall of Text" then I feel sad for the general state of reading and writing today. If you're going to take the minute or two to respond to someone then at least invest the few seconds it would take to actually fully understand what you're responding to.

Anyways, back to the topic:

Well in the spirit of compromise I would freely admit that I could have written that post better as you suggested. But still it struck me very odd that you brought up a point that I myself made in the same post. For what it's worth I'm sorry I called you out on it. Better luck next time.

Lets not turn this into a PvP forums thread with people openly battling it out...mistakes are made, it is what it is, time to move on back to the original intent of the thread.
Im thinking whoever shot the dear/kid is holed up somewhere nearby with more survivors and they came into contact with the other kid. Lets hope theyre not cannibals and trying to make lil girl and dear gumbo

I prefer the idea that the deer shot the bullet from its chest. Sort of like an Anti-Theft device.

Finally got to watch it last night, and while I was impressed overall, I did notice more than a few cases of people holding the idiot ball, mostly the writers. I mean, if all Rick needed to do was separate the two walkers by a little bit, and then hit them with a rock, he really didn't need to run too far away from Sophia. He was in a creek bed, with one of the walkers coming down with him, and the other one standing on the bank still. He didn't need more separation than that when he finally took them down.
Still, it leaves plenty of mysteries out there, and I like the direction they're going with the zombies not being totally mindless and doing some "weird" things that will hopefully be explained.
The only thing I didn't really buy was them finding dead, but not reanimated, bodies in cars that were fine. I get that you'll have a few deaths from an accident, but who just sits in a car and waits to die? Wouldn't most people get out and walk, or try to maneuver their cars around the wreck? Or is there a possibility of some sort of zombie-virus-related reasons behind it?

But then again a few things not covered might be that some just gave up or committed suicide. Realistically I know a TON of folks who would crawl under a rock and die then face that kind of situation.
People just couldn't handle that their world is gone, hell most morons would croak if they couldn't text or couldn't watch jersey shore.
They've shown a number of "dead but not zombied" bodies in this show so far and at least several of them were obvious suicides. But there's also been plenty of cases of "normal" dead people just lying around. For instance during the very first episode when Rick stumbled out of the hospital there was a bunch of bodies covered by sheets in what was probably a temporary morgue.
I think what we'll find out is that the zombie virus does different things to different people depending on how infected they are. I'm guessing that most people in the world have been exposed to it to some degree. There may be some people who are completely immune to it regardless of exposure. Other people were directly killed by it but it wasn't concentrated enough in those cases to reanimate them. Finally still others got enough of the virus to get fully killed/reanimated. This could explain why some normal people (like Andrea's sister) could stay normal until they are attacked by a zombie and get super-infected. This also matches up to the "randomness" of infection Dr. Jenner described.
Hopefully the story will offer a "logical" reason for why different people are affected differently.

I was under the impression that all Jenner whispered in to Rick's ear was that Andrea is pregnant...
In the same episode she is shown being sick in the bathroom, vomiting. Of course, everyone else is drinking and 'celebrating' as well, however... the next morning, only Glenn is showing any real side effects of being hungover.
In addition to that, during the Season 2 Premiere, Rick takes a looong look at Andrea at one point. It 'framed' the sequence as such that it put focus on 'something' existing between them. The something would be the secret Rick is keeping.
Just an opinion/guess.

What real purpose does it serve the story to keep something like that secret? Besides even at the beginning of the episode when Rick was talking on the radio he made allusions to the secret that he teasingly (for the audience at any rate) kept his mouth shut about. Why would it matter if he told whoever he hopes would be listening whether some random woman they wouldn't know was pregnant or not?
Andrea might turn up to be pregnant anyway (and maybe that was even -part- of what Jenner told Rick) but that being the entirety of the "big secret" would just be majorly anti-climactic to say the least.

I think the non-zombie dead bodies simply serve the purpose of a visual/suspense device for the TV show (its not as creepy seeing empty vehicles as much as dead bodies littering the area). While watching the kid reach into the truck, it plants in your head the question of whether the body is really a "sleeping" zombie thats about to bite a hole in this character since the adults are too silly to keep an eye on their children.
Obviously comic and TV show have some real differences, but if I remember correctly, in the comic ALL dead bodies reanimated...the virus was just a vehicle. If someone was bitten and untreated (chopping off the limb), the general infection killed the victim and then the virus caused reanimation at some point therafter. A poster probably already said all this at some point, but I havent read most posts so far in the thread.

It's funny but when I watched that scene with Carl snatching the bundle of tools away from the body in the truck I got a distinct flashback of the scene in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Conan film where we see him steal the sword away from that old dead king sitting on his throne. Even the moment when Carl yanked the bundle and the body slumped down towards him seemed incredibly similar. I don't know if the people making this show was trying to copy that Conan scene on purpose, but if they weren't they had a major case of unconscious copy-catism on their hands.
