Our Facebook Facepalm promotion is back! Just in time for City of Heroes Freedom™, now you can face-slap your way through the renovated Atlas Park, the revitalized Mercy Island, and the ruined First Ward! How do you get the in-game facepalm emote? Just click on the "Free Giveaways" tab on our Facebook page, and follow the instructions! You'll receive a code for your very own facepalm emote!

Codes are limited to 10,000 in this round, and it's first-come, first-served. This round of the promotion ends on November 1, 2011. Please note that this promotion is limited to residents of the United States (excluding the State of Rhode Island, and excluding Guam, Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, military installations and commonwealths), Canada (excluding Quebec), or the European Union.

I also got a code that is being rejected as already redeemed. I already have /facepalm on my primary account. I was going to add it to an old beta account that was reactivated.

I tried again and again, liked and disliked the page about 6 times, and reloaded a dozen more, and got nothing. Just a pic of Maelstrom thumbing me up and a "Loading Code" bar. I hope we get another chance and that it works next time

Will you guys ever make this available out outside of Facebook? I hate Facebook, and I've wanted a facepalm emote since this game was released.

If you are receiving the "Loading Code" error, please try disabling secure browsing in your Facebook Account Settings, under "Security > Secure Browsing." Those of you who're receiving a message stating that your code has been applied, please note that if you have received a code from a previous promotion, you will get this message. Shouldn't it be "The Facepalmening"? The answer is yes.

As Beastyle said, if you are getting the message that the code has already been claimed, it's due to you having applied it on another account previously. Cookies, temp files, something in the cache is set to give you the same code of you've already gotten on.

That being said, there are ways to get around this so that you can get a valid code for a second account.

But I'm not saying what it is for fear of the OCR team playing ping-pong with my forum account and me losing posting priveleges.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I've only been on facebook a few months, and never so much as visited the CoH page before. As Beastyle said, they're sill looking into that

I disabled secure browsing and I still get the "Loading Code" error.

Plenty of people without Facebook accounts have managed to get codes. Something else might be stopping you, but it's not the devs.

Yeah, yeah. . . just like when they had something you could only get through a specific vendor. Deal with it. It's a very common practice.

Is the code case sensitive as I have tried it lower case with and without the hyphens but still get the invalid message also as you see it so in uppercase as well

Just to reitterate that the code is more than likely tied to your FB cookies so worst case log out of FB, clear your internet cache fully, close the browser, relog into FB, and try again.

I didn't even Have to hit the like button, I just went to the page, clicked the link on the left, and a code popped up.
EDIT: I wasn't thinking about it, but the Like button it's talking about is the City of Heroes FB page, but if you'd already liked the page before, then there's no reason to unlike/relike it.

It shouldn't be case sensitive, but it does show up as upper case on the page. The code page is an Adobe Flash object so make sure that you have that unblocked/enabled in your browser. Additionally, there are two types of codes, US and International. Check to make sure that you're grabbing the right code for the Region your game account is set to. The code Never changes for the FB account you're logged into so if you accidentally close the browser, but had copied the code first, then don't worry about what's sitting in your clipboard as it'll be the same if you reopenned the browser and copied it again.

Just remember, there can be only one...code per account. ;-)

OP, I get a 404 and link to this: http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/news/contests_promos/ when trying to click the "terms and conditions" link embedded in the image btw.
