Ok, here are a few of my "ugly" powers;

1-baggers (don't take them anymore)
Any power with an Interrupt or a Crash. I prefer a faster-paced gameplay where I always am pushing one button while preparing for the next. Being interrupted or getting hit with a crash is just "annoying" as hell. I would rather have these powers balanced around normal gameplay. Expecially the "Crash" type powers. They are TIER 9 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. Let me have that "moment of glory" every so often. If it is too much power, tone it down some OR... make it not enhanceable in some way (recharge, damage, resist, defense etc...)


2-baggers (not only do I skip, but I skip the entire powerset because of it)
Those tiny half-damage fast recharge bolt powers for Rad Blast, Psi Assault, Peacebringers and Warshades. Geez, I want to put them on auto to save myself some carpal tunnel agitation, but THEN... I shoot something prematurely. Is it possible to make these powers normal Tier 1 blasts ? PLEASE!! They look cool, sound good, but totally do nothing for damage.

Costume destroying powers like Ice, Stone, Quills, etc..
As others have said, you can spend hours making a costume, just so that you can run around as a block of ice on a team.. YAY ! I would much prefer these powers just grant an aura like chilling embrace, or a rocky crumble. Thermal Radiation does a good job but even that can be too invasive on a costume. There really is no easy solution for this one though.


3-baggers (Entire Powersets that I will never play... again)
Sonic Resonance, Empathy, Trick Arrow, Spines, Devices, Radiation Blast, Ice Armor, Stone Armor, Stone Melee, Stone Assault, Peacebringers and Warshades
**too many reasons to cover, just don't like the sets as a whole***

Teleport. It's animation is to long and is over all suckie. :/

I have one character who uses it, purely because of concept. I'd have given it to my main, but I just couldn't stand having another character with Teleport.

They should turn it into something akin to the original competitions version of teleport.

My one character who has it is my Warshade. And I use dwarf form's teleport so I can just slot range instead of end reduction.

My only character with Fly is my Ill/Time Controller - mostly for theme and Hover/Afterburner LoTG slots.

Indeed. I've got quite a few inorganic creations. Just doesn't look right having my 7 foot tall robot with no stomach or mouth bent over hurling...
Or my 100% sealed from the enviroment in a tech suit contaminated man for that matter.

It would be nice if they turned all the cage powers into a timed toggle, AND made the mobs untargetable as well.


Jay Doherty: Yes, there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.

I found it more annoying. It's a hampered version of fly with a little phase shift thrown in. All you want is invisaflight, is what you are saying.

This is something I need to address. When people complain of powers that blind them, then you know they have their monitor out of whack, because the powers can only be as bright as the color white on their monitor, when they are reading most text from websites, for example.

In fact any power that has a long animation but no better accuracy/damage than a short animation power. And by animation I mean the length of time you are performing one power that prevents you from doing anything else. Kinetic Melee is IMO particularly bad for this.
Look at the activation times compared to other sets. It's honestly in your head. It looks like you are doing crazy movements forever but it's just fast animation during what other sets do more slowly for roughly the same amount of time. It's an illusion, really.

/Necromancy = Puking Pets... who thought this was a good idea?

Every damned power that is "Ally Only" - Especially for Corruptor's, But it's just as bad for Defenders... Look, I understand "Support Classes" but someone was sickeningly "lets encourage teaming-happy" when they designed these!

There are several such Powersets I've never played, And/Or never intend play past IDK - maybe Level 20-something if I choose one of these sets on an old Alt for Concept reasons & don't want to re-roll them as something else = different or new?
Mostly because, I don't want to lose years of Anniversary (+ other irreplaceable) Badges & stuff (=whatever) on old Alts.

[I'm holding out for Powerset Respecs on those... Maybe with a 'reset of XP to zero' type-penalty? Anything that would save the "Old" costume, badges, temp powers, etc.]


Ditto on the sentiments above about 'Repel' & 'Intangible' Powers, I mean there's "Repel-Ball" if you're into all the setup required to do that...
And Intangible was a broken concept to begin - with so they nerfed it into a 'panic button' OR 'PvP power' = due to pvp abuses/or maybe mission stealth-ing?

And the whole nerfing of Stealth & the Anti-Stealth auto-power in missions - that doesn't even effect the Fraking NPC's you're trying to rescue/kidnap/'have follow you', But the Ambushing Mobs = of course it works for them!

Then there's the whole Stealth IO's that make that whole Power Pool all that much more trivial, & "Stealth" the -spd actually makes SuperSpeed usable in layer-cake Caves & whatnot.
Minor Positive Note:This is actually a possible solution to people with unwanted 'Speed Boost' issues.
Oh yeah, lets not leave out Invisibility's "only affect self" ='s a LotG Mule!
In fact the whole Pool is a 'single slot' LotG, (Karma/etc) Mule-Fest!

AND I'll also climb on-board the "Hasten pom-pom Hate-Train" = No FX option please?

DITTO - for all the SG Empowerment Buffs, a -KB Buff shouldn't give me the blasted - Green & Black 'shadow tendrils Aura' from head to toe - (talk about ruining a costume).
Hell, make the FX "PvP only" = (sarcasm) IF it really matters to the virtually endless Hordes of hardcore PvP'ers around here! (/sarcasm)

I like gravs AOE hold! And I like Minds AOE Hold...the rest I don't care for. Flash being the worst one.

The power I do not like very much would be the Ice Control Sleep power. I just hate that power.

I never take the Dark and Storm ones regardless of their usefulness because my team always kills whichever mob I put them on first. Seriously, it's like they have a secondary effect of "ally taunt". The only reason I have any targeted toggles on my Rad/Rad Corruptor is because 1/2 the set is made up of them and some are just too good to pass up.

Make them all Targeted AoE please.

Dimension Shift/Black Hole/Sonic Cage/Detention Field - I really like the idea of making them toggles that automatically drop if they're on too long, like the "jump pack". That way, you never have to sit around and wait for the mob to come back to reality.

Time Bomb - Probably one of the worst powers in the game. Massive recharge, massive interruptibility, and the timer on it is so long that most mobs would be dead by the time it fires in a team setting. Clone the Omega Maneuver and put it in it's place! DO ANYTHING!! Remote detonation is also a popular idea, but I think this power receives more complaints then any other.

Triage Beacon/Spirit Tree - given the recharge and immobile status, they need something to make them more attractive. The +Recovery is an excellent idea.

Ignite - I don't know... it just never worked well for me. I like the idea of making it a single-target flamethrower, maybe add a debuff? -Regen, -Res?

Targetting Drone - should give a very small damage buff to all powers and not just have code to give damage to Sniper Rifle in one powerset. I am talking like 10% damage at most. <--- yeah what he said. One of the biggest gripes with devices is that you don't get build up, which not only adds a lot of damage, it adds a lot of damage where you want it. I've also seen a suggestion that it give a % chance of critical hit. Even a 1% chance gives the occasional "oh hell yeah! That just happened!"

Also as mentioned over and over in this thread: All sorts of stuff that ruin my costumes.

How about custom sound effects for our powers? Since we can already change the appearance, it's a logical next-step. I'd much rather have a beam rifle that sounds like "PEW PEW!" then an organ farting.

Oh right!! I forgot about Stealth.... 2 things: Enemies that ignore it completely (I'm talking about ambushes, not snipers or drones and what-not, those are fine). Allies that are affected by it (the guys we have to rescue).

And my thoughs:

Pulsar (PB Set): Animation time is WAY to long compared to the Warshade's equivalent stun power (Emanation) and it doesn't stack with anything like incandescent strike or something. It's useful for minions, but Lts & bosses are a whole different story.

Anytime you're falling with Super Speed on, the big fiery trail takes up an entire vertical column in the middle of the screen. If you're zoomed in close, you can't see a thing. I like super-speed, but it's ridiculously obtrusive. It looks like I'm running on some sort of portable star, the very end of the trail should be the entire power, and even then it could be toned down a bit so it just looks like i leave a train of smoldering footsteps.

I would like the effect that Synapse gets when he uses superspeed, but the streak aura is kinda like it already.
