On the one hand, that's pretty much four of the six hours I usually spend hanging out with the people I hang out with the most on Saturdays.
On the other hand, fixes are a good thing.
We'll live. Somehow.
You should make it a weekend event....take extra time, maybe get it all fixed.

Ho ray again a day that I can play and the servers will be down....... This is happening a lot. maybe they will fix the consistent crashing.

I've never understood why people complain when a game with bugs is getting some of those bugs fixed.
You'd seriously rather play a game that's less stable or more buggy, or both?
I21 will still be just as shiny when the game comes back online. A few hours of not playing it won't kill anyone.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

Since its in that state, yes, I'm glad they're working to fix it urgently, and I'm sympathetic to them needing to spend weekend time on it. But I'm disappointed that it's unstable to start with.

It is the "how did it get out the doors in this state?" perspective.
Sure, *I* know that localized testing hardly ever equals "in the wild testing." Particularly when discussing software that is potentially changing hardware (until told otherwise, I'll always assume the Beta server is not identical to the Test server and that the Test server is not identical to the Live servers).
But, as a whole, we - as a species - are groomed to be uninformed consumers.
And even with that knowledge, I still have to wonder just how some things get through the testing process.
So I sympathize with the frustrated. And I accept that there is nothing that can be posted by anyone other than a developer or community rep that can improve moods. And try - but often fail - to not make the situation worse.
I'm hoping this sorts out the reason I cant log in for the last 2 days.

There's no doubt there needs to be some maintenance done. Today on Virtue I know of at least two complete mapserver disconnects that rolled people back when they logged on, I've repeatedly gotten the "powers all go missing from trays" issue, and when I logged off about 20 minutes ago, it was still acting as though I was exemplared in my prior team, even though I was no longer in a team.
That said, starting it at NOON Eastern Time and running until 4pm? What the hell, man? I understand no one wants to be working in the middle of the night, but what in the world possesses you shut down servers when there's going to be decent amounts of traffic on them, especially given that it's Saturday? This is the second time, this week, you've started maintenance at midday Eastern, evening European, but at least Thursday made some (albeit not a lot of) sense being a work/school day. But Saturday?
Just, wow. You should be taking them down no later than 5AM eastern. Not 12PM.
This. The devs are coming in *on the weekend* to fix stuff for us. How about *that* for dedication?

If they were the best dev team, they'd understand you don't pull down live servers when it's day time across all of North America, and peak hours in Europe. Network Engineering 101. Yep, they're coming in on a Saturday - should that give them extra credit? No. I've spent many a Friday night/early Saturday morning/early Sunday morning fixing network issues, updating servers, or running full and/or incremental backups. It's part of my salary. It's also part of my salary to do these things when the least number of people are affected.

However... I recognise that a hot fix on the weekend is outside of normal service and I am deeply grateful for the devs giving up a portion of the weekend to come and fix the game. Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly and that it resolves the log in issues.

The teams have been going nuts all week. Some, many of them, have family. And kids. Earlier in the month when Z was posting at night, he was apparently at work, not posting from home.
Unless you want the people applying critical fixes to be running on less than four hours of sleep when applying the patch.
And for all we know, half the reason they chose 9AM Pacific is because that lets them patch /after/ it's cleared some kind of testing script that takes a while to run.

Yay another prime time EU downtime,I love those, thank you ever so much for spoiling us with another, wow four in a week and this one is even on a Saturday wow, thank you ever, ever, ever so much.

This is my hope too as another EU subscriber who can't enjoy the 'Head start' due to the 'Invald Username or Password' bug. Between that and the maintenance times slap bang in the middle of the EU peak times (of which this is another one, thanks) this hasn't been much of a headstart at all, more like an extended Beta.

I always thought a hotfix was applied to software that was still running.
Anyway world won't end with a bit of downtime, luckily we are paying for the privilege of using buggy software so that the non payers can come in to a smooth service.
Because the game is in a state where it needs to be fixed so urgently that there's no choice (it would seem) but for it to be worked on during the weekend.

I don't even mind the maintenance/hotfix, but it's just plain annoying we have to wait for a scheduled maintenance with a server already broken to the point you can't get in at all.
If that doesn't get fixed before this maintenance it'll effectively turn into at least (not going back further than I first tried 'cause I don't know how long it wasn't working already, and assuming the maintenance doesn't get extended) an 11 hour downtime for that server.
After downtimes of various length on tuesday, wednesday and thursday already that starts to get just a little bit annoying.
