I sure would like to see it! I imagine there are holsters, but we already have the hats, boots and bolo ties....I wonder when it will become available? Anyone else curious as I am?

I hope we get proper vests, proper cowboy boots, proper neck bandanas, proper button-up shirts, and proper jeans-that-aren't-baggy-as-hell; just once I'd like to see skinny jeans for men that didn't make my character look like he was smuggling water balloons taped to his lower thighs and calves.

There was a picture of the Gunslinger set shown at a Meet and Greet (Pax IIRC). Every Ustream people ask for Zwill to show that photo. He always has some excuss why he can't though.

To be fair, it was just concept art. I seem to recall Posi saying it was something coming in the future; i.e., not "soon".

Oddly it was sort of but not really in the costume creator. At least last night it was there as one of the pre-made sets you can scroll through to get a starting point. Had a purchasable icon next to it, but if you tried to wear the set you got some weird horrible costume with a bald character.

there were also a trio of dual pistol customizations back in open beta.
They only worked for masterminds though.

LOL...yah, Oliin, I laughed when I saw that. Thanks, Doughboy, I didn't know that. I will wait patiently. and Nalrok_AthZim, I agree with you 100%!

I saw that set, was curious. Saw this plain guy wearing a long coat, basic pants and no hair. I was like... What's that have to do with being a 'Gunslinger'?

Now I'm curious if it will be the Malta pieces or all new western themed pieces.

What they showed at PAX was a combination of Malta tech-looking items and old west gunfighter. It looked neat, but it's hard to say how it will turn out. It's not unusual to see changes made for better or worse between when going from concept to final product.

The "gunslinger" costume combo in the character creator has been around a while, hasn't it? Seems like it has and like it's been broken for some time. I think it's supposed to use available items to create an old west look using a hat and long jacket.

While in First Ward, I fought some 'slavers' in Western garb..... (Some holsters looked 'painted on' while others were actually 3D)

Hopefully it's because the set's being retooled to give female characters the chaps/dusters too, and not just the saloon girl look!

Hope this means we'll be getting gloves with fringe.

Seriously. If they're good enough for Metro Man, they're good enough for me!

Depends on what the red arrow is pointing at.

It's gotta be the red arrow indicating his crotch that pushes it over the edge, though.

The "red/locked" gunslinger item in the costume generator is definitely a bug, as the flagging system is working correctly for other items that actually exist/are available that I have yet to purchase.

As far as wishlist for this set goes - remember there is also an issue with the current cowboy hats and hair. You only get one choice of hair if you go with the hat. Would be nice if they opened this up just a bit, for instance a cowboy hat with long hair (not pony tail) would be a welcomed addition for a bevvy of character concepts far beyond old west.

Wouldn't mind a cigar/cigarette thats a little more realistic in its look/feel and placement within the mouth. Also perhaps a "spit" emote.

Fwiw those screen shots of the "slavers" just looks like the current police options to me.

p.s.

I wanted to add that those fringed gloves gave me a vision of a full blown hollywood gene autry type cowboy. That had slipped my mind I'm such a spaghetti western freak. Though something I'd never touch it would be funny to see the bright white fringed chaps and coats and gloves with bright blue stars and a 3 foot tall ten-gallon hat a sparkling smile and spurs that jingle jangle jingle.

If nothing else, I hope there are some good cowboy/girl boots in this set. The ones we have now look absolutely ridiculous. A few weeks back I used some Steampunk pieces mixed with some others to make a pretty good "Bandit Queen" (which was surprisingly available as a name) but the boots ruin the look and render her unplayable.

Maybe the actual set will be long hair, basic coat and no pants?

I think they'd have to rename it to something else with that name.

Troy Hickman.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

I assumed it was an attempt at a tribute to Yul Brynner, although it would have been more appropriate to have bald with a cowboy hat.

Preview art of female gunslinger, saloon girl:

Moar corsets, lol...
Another bun hairstyle...
Seriously we need variety not only variety of corsets and buns.
But it looks pretty awesome.
Hope it comes with more faces with new mapping tech like Steampunk pack.

I'll (somewhat) forgive them for hopping on the corset train again if those skull bracers are legit.
