Who is nuke-able?

I was going to say something along the lines of it being a moot point, since he was considerably more powerful by the time of the first test detonations of a working atomic weapon, but I just left it, since we were looking at how various versions of the character would stand up to a nuke.

Warning, 81 year-old Spoiler Alert!

Looking at Hugo Danner's story, though, I would assume that a nuke would have killed the very early version of Superman that seems to be an analog of him, since Danner himself was killed by a lightning bolt.

(Wolverine's Son) will all regen from anything... So Assumedly as long his brain is attached to a lung or his regen is fast enough (ie within several minutes) he will survive.

Which makes no sense considering that they BEHEADED Wolverine for a time in the Ultimates universe and he STILL lived. His "body" adapted by absorbing oxygen.

There's also Mr. Immortal.

Technically he'd "die". But after a couple minutes, up he'd pop. Alive again.

One alternate timeline version of Kang the Conqueror as I recall set off a nuke right next to himself to kill the Avengers and came out of the blast laughing.

It depends on who the writer is as well as the character. In the graphic novel "Future Imperfect", the Hulk when he was intelligent, faced his future evil self the Maestro. Maestro said that he survived WW3 by not being at ground zero of the nuclear blasts. The fallout only made him more powerful. At the end of the story, the Maestro was sent into the past next to the same bomb that created him (when he was Hulk) and was destroyed by it. He was at the time jacked up by anger enough to beat the Hulk nearly to death.

Correct. It was a money-saving device. Fleischer was one of the most important animation studios at the time, but it still needed to save money on production whenever possible. Having Superman leap from place to place would have required animations of him crouching, stretching, and springing, as well as arcing through the leaps themselves, while flying could be depicted primarily by his remaining stationary while the background moves behind him. (I learned this from the well-researched Was Superman a Spy?, about "comic book urban legends," by Brian Cronin.)

I believe one of the other reasons was narrative. Having him go from Metropolis to Africa to save Lois by hopping there would have been quite a ways into the realm of the absurd in a 10 minute short.

Pfft. None of these "super powers" can compete with the real life durability of NINTENDIUM:

But it would have been funny to see him go...

Well that story was back in the early days long before his healing power reached Galactus levels

Seriously though I enjoyed that mini and still do, but wasn't Wolverine poisoned or drugged up in that first fight where he got beaten by the wooden sword? Can't recall and the issues are boxed up in storage.

Wouldn't Havok (Alex Summers) survive it? I think I remember a story when he survived a nuclear meltdown, a mini series with Wolverine in the 90's. Supposedly he's immune to heat and can absorve radiation, so unless the direct shockwave broke his neck or something he'd probably come out alive.

I'd also add Jenny Sparks, Invincible, Sephiroth and Savage Dragon to the nukable individuals. Not sure about Lavos, though

Alex is immune to Scott's powers which are solar energy based or "fusion based" which i think gives off more energy than fission, but not positive so maybe...also it might be that both Scott and Alex would be immune to Superman's Heat vision as it is solar powered.

Being brothers they are immune to each other's power, and I think it was shown (rarely) that when they work together their combined energies are greater then the sum of the parts.

Banshee (Sean Cassidy) and his brother Black Tom Cassidy also are immune to each others powers.

I'm sure. Back in the late 70's when DC relaunched the Justice Society and introduced Power Girl as the Earth 2 version of Supergirl, she and her cousin were both depowered back to the point of even only being able to leap long distances.

They were both brought back up to the level of the Earth-1 super family when Roy Thomas came in and took over the Earth-2 heroes in the early 80's.
