Well, whichever of her names is correct (I recall that it's Elizabeth in-game and Victoria in the TCG) they're both names of famous queens of the realm, so the Lady Jane Grey connection is still there, in a sense. I wouldn't be surprised if that's an Easter Egg sort of thing, kind of like realizing that the Warriors are patterned after the characters in the film.

Well, it's possible we've met now - at the end of the letter on the Ramiel arc, it says:

Quote:
"As always, seek me out in the crystal of fire and ice. Or... depending on when you are reading this, you may have merely seen me minutes ago."
The "when" could be significant - the mission is accessed via the Ouroboros Citadel, so that would mean that the Letter Writer would have to be there for us to have seen them only minutes before we get the letter at the end of the mission, which is a pretty short one.

If the "when" also refers to players reading it at a later date than it was first added to the game, then the letter was added in I19, Prometheus was added in I20, and Michael and Christy were added in 20.5 - plus any other new NPCs to be added to Ouroboros in future Issues.

Re-read the post you're replying to, and the post it was replying to. The assertion was that the character's future self IS the letter writer. In which case, it's stupid to say "we haven't met" ever.

Has anyone counted Dr. Aion yet? He already goes out of his way to do pretty much the same thing as Professor Echo - he goes back into the past, engineers events to warn people (his past self), engineers events to set up people to to learn the truth (us) and eventually sets the scene for "Dr. Aion in the middle" to try and stop Operation: Destiny.

Or would that be too easy?

And I think it's a mistake to think you've just seen LW shortly before reading the note. My guess is that we'll be doing that mission again from the other side at some point, making the Well vanish before we can get there. Closest comparison I can think of is Back to the Future 2, where Marty2 is working behind the scenes to make sure that works out for Marty1 the way he remembers it happening in his personal continuity. Or, to a lesser extent, the Circle K scene from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. In *that* mission, we'll see the note, and have just been with the LW, who sent us to move the Well.

I don't know that I'm sold on Aeon. It doesn't have his ego or personality in the letters, and it's fairly consistent ("You MUSt do this!" basically) among his various versions. Plus, I don't really see it fitting well with heroside - it'd have to be someone it's safe to assume the character has dealt with no matter where they started.

I thought Dr. Aeon was Professor Echo. And that, in turn, they were all Nemesis.

All Dean said was that the person who gave him the letter was male. Since the letter writer is actively recruiting people (including Protean and Ajax) he (or she) clearly has minions he (or she) could ask to deliver a letter.

It's amusing to think of Prometheus in that situation, though, at least.
"Hmm, let's see, guy was definitely a man...something else struck me about him, though? Was he blue? Nah, nobody's blue. If there's one thing D-Mac knows, it's what colors people come in, and blue ain't one of 'em..."

It would be interesting if Future Lord Nemesis is actually some kind of fractured personality ala Rularuu, and Nemesis, Silos, and DJ Zero are all aspects of the original "Lord Nemesis".
No. It wouldn't.

When it comes to ego, I actually think Professor Echo is a good example of how Dr. Aeon of the future actually becomes more sane as the world dies around him, and he turns into not just a Machiavellian strategist, but a genuine good guy, ultimately sacrificing himself to save his future. We've also seen that a long life seems to have done good for Nemesis, as well.

I always pictured both Aion and Nemesis as Vandal Savage in that one particular story where Superman gets sent to the future to find the whole world dead, save for Savage, who has spent thousands of years regretting his actions and realising the error of his ways and wishing to punish himself for what he's done. Ultimately, Savage helps Superman build a time machine to send him back and prevent his own evil deed.

I think this applies to both men who have seen the eventual doom their actions will bring, which has both made them sane and infused them with conscience. It's just speculation, of course, but I don't think it's a bad idea.

Wasn't Requiem the prime suspect in previous threads? What's up with these crazy guesses about Mender Silos and Hamidon?

The Mysterious Letter Writer is Ricochet - she's been telling us that since GR came out - we've just not been able to understand that that was what she was saying.

I can't agree on that. The letters I got had all the i's dotted with little hearts.

two thoughts:
1. If Lady Grey is the Lady of the Lake, why didn't Hero 1 send the sword back to her instead of giving it to Ms Liberty?

2. I'd like to ask if the Letter Writer couldn't be the Dream Doctor. The writing style sounds similar. He sounds like he's found a way to overthrow mortality. Although most player comments I've read suggest he's working on the Rularuu issue, perhaps he sees a bigger picture. From the paragon wiki article:

Quote:
Hopefully, when you read this, my name is not forgotten. I don't know why that's so important to me. I guess after all I've seen, a part of me is still human. I wonder if the same can be said for my counterpart, Rularuu.
As I used the blade, I shaved off a piece of myself. I am not the same man anymore. I still work among you - looking for answers. But I've also begun searching in the dreamspace for a way to protect you, and the rest of the world, from a fate that grows closer with each passing day. Something is coming and I must find out what it is before it's too late.
I have never been afraid to ask for help. If you remember anything about me, please remember that. But this...this is something I must do on my own. I'm going to try and save the world... again. But by all means, don't let that stop you from trying to save it first.
My knowledge of DD is limited, but could the "blade" be a time crystal used to fracture himself somehow? It would make sense for DD to trust a time crystal to his own Midnight Squad. And his speech here sounds a lot like the coming storm speeches.

Can any fill me in further on the lore of Dream Doctor that the wiki might not have?

Actually.. the Dream Doctor is a really cool idea. Points to Rodoan, though I can't personally fill in more backstory than you have there.

After just finally doing the Jenni Adair arc and reading that letter and taking into account all the other letters. Plus the books and clickies in the Midnight Squad it is the Dream Doctor.

EDIT: And it looks like I'm about 45mins too slow now that I read. That will teach me to refresh the page before posting.

EDIT: Also the The Legend of Ruladak souvenir from Sara Moore task force talks of a joining of forces with Nemesis and Rularru. They could have actually done this in some future of Mender Silos and the Dream Doctor is trying to stop them. Or as I mentioned earlier an aspect of Rularru helping him like Faathim,

If there is one thing I tend to know about that would be comic book logic. Now if you look at Nemesis as a character he has a ton in common with Kang the Conqueror from Marvel. You can see it in the benevolent future self (Mender Silos) against his evil past (Nemesis) just like Kang had Immortus be his all knowing time future self. Kang also had another self of Rama-tut who was sort of a future past self who lived in Egypt. All of these were the same person but time travel tended to make them foes still.

Now that leads to Nemesis being A) Nemesis (duh), B) Mender Silos, and C) the letter writer. Time travel tends to get crazy like that.

The way I see it is that Nemesis lives so long mucks around with so much he always ends up hating what he used to be and fights against it. Well at least we don't have a dimension of nothing but Nemesis's from other dimensions meeting up due to time traveling like Kang eventually did.

Just watched the trailer again... He states that the Pillar of Ice and Flame is an artifiact "from the end of time" and that it was chosen due to the accuracy as well as the accessibility it provides to supers of this time.
