Kapow! Metafanzine
Upcoming Issues:
I am proud to announce that Issue 2 of the new format will be "Rule Britannia!". I will be welcoming all contributions for all things British. Is your character from the UK, or have they been inspired by something British? Get involved.
Future issues: The plan for Issue 3 is a counterpoint to Rule Britannia: "Home of the Brave" focusing on the local American heroes and villains.
Issue 4 I have not nailed down a theme for, not wanting to get too far ahead of myself. However, based on feedback I am leaning towards a dark and gritty/street level theme - I will keep you posted!
Get Involved!
Like Kapow!? Then get involved, I welcome all submissions, big or small.
To take part just drop me an email at Kapow!s new email address:
KapowMagazine[at]gmail.com
Desired Content for 'Rule Britannia':
Anything British! Anything even vaguely linked to England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales.
As seen in the Steampunk issue I welcome anything from standard features/interviews to the more unorthadox. Kapow! loves metahumans so if your hero or villain has something to say write it up and send it my way. Or maybe you could write something on your character (or someone else's) from the point of view of a die-hard fan!
I also want feedback from the steampunk issue; so letters to the editor would be great! Bex needs (on theme) arcs to review, also those brave enough could Ask Archie for advice!
Still a little unsure? Drop me an email if you're interested in helping and I'll be sure to talk through ideas with you.
Participation FAQ:
Q) I have no writing/art experience, can I get involved?
A) Of course! I welcome emailed ideas for anything in the issue and even tiny contributions help. Have an idea for wording for something? Send it my way I'll see what I can do. Or maybe you have some cool screenshots send them with an idea for an article and I'll have a play. I welcome anything to help!
Q) Can I send you content referencing content from {insert a server that isn't Union}?
A) Starting from Issue 2 of the new format I will be welcoming content from all servers. There will be an OOC overview on the back cover of the magazine to let people know which articles impact in character goings on on their server along with who to contact for more information.
Q) Will you meet me ingame to interview my character?
A) I sometimes do this, but generally won't do this for more than one feature per magazine as it ends up very work heavy for me (Coming up with questions, sorting through the logs, editting the text, taking and editting screenshots, composing it all into an article etc etc) If you would like a feature done on your character please consider either taking the screenshots yourself or writing the content yourself, a shared effort makes the magazine feel less 'samey' on all the articles and frees up some time so the magazine can have even more articles.
Have a question? Email it to me or leave it in this thread and I'll get an answer to you
Awesome, awesome win makes me regret not getting an article done in time
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Great work, Bunny, and loving the redesign!!
As for ideas for the next issue, I'd love to see one which deals with natural/unpowered heroes (something close to my own heart) but I'd also like to see one that looks at British heroes in Paragon or heroes inspired by Britain. Could be fun, I think.
Formerly @Crimson Archer, now @CA
The Militia - Protecting Paragon City through roleplaying since June 2006!
Very nice!
Thanks for the positive feedback guys, it means a lot
And the idea of a very British issue is really tempting me!
This is really awesome work! I dig the idea of a 'themed' magazine showcasing different looks. Great job!
Thank you for the awesome version of my character's advert. Remember folks, if you need to run something somewhere? Give it to Zack.
Fantasticly amazing
Thank you so much for putting in Nanny's recipe.
As for a dark and gritty non-powered hero/vigilante there's always Dirk Knightly the monologuing private detective. He'd probably jump at the chance for an interview or just to have his business card featured somewhere in the magazine
Help Dirk Knightly the freelance detective solve a case in Arc ID:368097
Pick a them Bunny and I'll do something for it. I've got heroes and villains of just about every sort (see my sig ) so whatever is fun for you, I'm sure there's some character somewhere begging to be written for.
Awesome work on this issue, well worth a second read.

I wish Virtue had something like this.
That was impressive. Congratulations on the publication of your Steampunk edition. I enjoyed the mix of articles, interview, showcase, and even a recipe to try at home.
May all your creativity be as rewarding!
Oh, Venessa's in another magazine and...
...her name's spelt wrong and she's looking off camera.
Curses, foiled again.
Anyway, on a more serious note, I am very pleased to see the resurrection of Kapow, keep up the good work.

8/31 - Never Forget even more.

I hope Zack gets some more packages to keep as safe as his own!

There is the potentiality to fudge the universe lines a little to include some virtue content. It's something I'd need to think on the application of to make sure this still fits in line with concept and RP that comes from it. I also have the issue of being in the UK so meeting up ingame to get content can be trickier due to timezones. That said, never say never! I shall think on it!
What a great sentiment, thank you!
...this is what I get for finishing the issue when tired. Apologies for the typo, we can blame a proofreader NPC I'm sure! Thanks for the kind words though and it was good to see you at the steampunk party
Its amazing Bunny, as a long time fan of steampunk music and culture outside of game I gotta say that its great
As for the next issue if you go for mutant or dark and gritty lemme know, Celestyna might fit either option, just let me know either here or on Militia forums.
Updated the second post for info on contributing for the next issue
Looks fantastic! Great job on the redesign!
Love how Tom Orrow's article ended up. Small thing is that I found many typo's though You might need a good editor for your next issue.
At the moment I have characters coming from all over the globe aside Great Britain. So not sure if I can help with the next one. But if you like to make a Halloween themed one for the end of the year I can make that right in spades for you.
Wait a second.. I have a slightly wicked Fae/Banshee who is fun to say some words... Shannon O'Banshee on the wiki.
Oh.. Bunny.. can you pls pls pls... rework the older magazines and maybe enhance them so they look the same as this one in the same format? I will give all help that you might needed to do so.
- The Italian Job: The Godfather Returns #1151
Beginner - Encounter a renewed age for the Mook and the Family when Emile Marcone escapes from the Zig!
- Along Came a... Bug!? #528482
Average - A new race of aliens arrives on Earth. And Vanguard has you investigate them!
- The Court of the Blood Countess: The Rise of the Blood Countess #3805
Advanced - Go back in time and witness the birth of a vampire. Follow her to key moments in her life in order to stop her! A story of intrigue, drama and horror! Blood & Violence... not recommend to solo!

I'm afraid I won't be doing that, I want to move forward and work on new content instead. Besides as remarked on in the editors letter this revamp is an IC improvement. Kapow! put out its first issues on a low budget and now have the resources for a better format from now on
British, eh? That sounds like a call for something from Colonel Lyndon I'll get something written up this time!
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Much of Tom Orrow's article I kept text as provided by you ingame as I would always do with such things assuming they were purposeful based on accent or lingo the character would use.

All I can say is...
Squeeeeee!
Saw the advert for the New You program (Necrotech is Dr Mechano's company for those not in the know, specialises in genetic reconstruction, manipulation and 'empowering the common people with super powers through genetic engineering')!
*hugs Bunny*
Very nice advert too, very stylish.
Badge Earned: Wing Clipper
A real showstopper!
So glad you approve Dr Mechano I hope to play more with adverts in the next issue, as it helps make the magazine feel more 'real' I think ^^
I also want to thank everyone who's chipped in so far with ideas for the next issue, they're greatly appreciated. I will be getting back to people after the double xp weekend and setting to work on the next issue.
You put some love in there for Dieselpunk! Thank you! (I'm big on "Style C")
Nice looking 'zine!
