On the live chat, Synapse mentioned that this is only the third iteration of Powerset Proliferation. They will eventually port over EVERYTHING. Since it's easier to port over a powerset than it is to make a new one.

The good news from Ustream:

1. Proliferation will continue until there is nothing left to proliferate (that should be understood as "within reason").

2. Future 'new' sets will come fully proliferated. To me, this should mean that Stalkers will get Titan Weapon melee, otherwise, this is not a true statement.

Aw man! I went through the trouble of making a Kin/Energy Brute and pushing all the way to heroside, and now this? If they change it across the board, will I have to respec my character to get all the nice goodies? Or is this just a Scrapper thing?

(for the record, that's not an upset "Aw, man!" More, happy and interested.)

Dark sets for blasters sound great. Maybe I will finally get a Blaster to 50.

Brutes will get every change Scrappers get - and stalkers will get all but the taunt aura.

I can finally make a SS/Reg toon, finally!!
It will be interesting to see what tweaks are made to regen now. Maybe it can finally be buffed instead of nerfed.


Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?

Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?

Ice Stalkers sounds awesome. However, the reveal that animations can't be changed means that Gravity Control may still be in the same state that it's in. I'm also rather worried about the possible changes to Dominators and the possible precedent set by the Repulse -> Disrupt change.

  • Soo... can MMs have that new Venomous Gas too please? I rarely bother with the MM version.
  • /sonic for mms! Woot! TWO new mm secondaries. Win.
  • I'm actually pretty happy with EA lately, so I'm really curious to see how these changes play out. At least they aren't taking the stealth (although I'm curious how that will play with the taunt aura).
  • Trade Torrent for a hold with a damage component? YES PLEASE.
  • KB added to Nightfall? Sure, why not. Don't care either way.

All this in I21? HOLY #%$$%#! I21 is looking for and more like an expansion level product. Awesome job guys.

Who said anything about making them AoE? That wasn't in the OP... was it in the Ustream or something?
Replying to my own message here... YES, it was discussed in Ustream that Poison's debuffs will now work on a slight AoE scale. (I suppose that makes some thematic sense... a short-range AoE could be described as a "splash" from the main target.)

From the Ustream notes:
"Posion has had a quasi-revamp with improvements to the set. Current design in beta is that Poison has Venom and Weaken having small AoE effects with half the effect of original that is on the base target. The heal has been buffed. Poison Trap has intial hold instead of initial sleep, and has a Recovery debuff."

In the time of GR and a shared start zone, isnt the seperation and labeling of archetypes as heroic or villainous an archaic concept?

Sad face that there is no spines for brutes. Rest is great though, more choices is more alts. Can't wait to roll a fire defender.

Well Chad knowing that those changes to Poison are coming down the pipe makes me hope for poison ruptors/trollers. Poison is such a turd live that I can't imagine wanting it at all, but making Envenom/Weaken AoEs and giving Poison Trap a hold certainly helps. Too bad PT is keeping the worthless recovery debuff, but I guess we can't have it all.

Gah! I love the heal in Energy Drain, but with higher resistances and the chance to push my defenses even further above the cap I could be OK. But what power do I respec out of to pick up Energize? Oh tough choices!

Hmmm. Maybe Energy Cloak; but... but, stealth Brute goes bye, bye to be more strong and pretty? Maybe Darkest Night, although the -damage was nice to help the team as well as myself. Hmmm, maybe I can lose Aid Self.

Thank you for leaving Tentacles in Dark Blast, I am thrilled. You left the heal too, didn't you. Hmmm, very interesting.

Edit: OMG Poison buffs too! My Mercs/Posion MM will be better, yay!

No Illusion Control for Dominators? Not impressed. Not impressed that Dominators are being sweeped under the rug until after i21 when everything else (which isn't exactly going to be ignored after i21) gets stuff with proliferation.

Disappointed and unimpressed.

I do hope Noxious Gas becomes either a toggle or perma-able click to compete with Venomous Gas. That is, unless the proliferated version doesn't have the AoE modification to Venom and Weaken or Venomous gas ends up being a good deal weaker than NG.

I'm excited. This could be very good

I'm pretty sure that anything damage aura wise gets the Taunt dropped for Stalkers and Scrappers. Only Brutes and Tankers have the taunt aspect.

I haven't played my /ea brute in a while, and forgot if they have a taunt or aura or not. My wondering was about the way the wording made it sound like they did not and it would be added to the scrapper version which made me wonder how it would play with the /ea stealth power (which I love).

Entropy Shield is now Entropic Aura for Scrappers and Brutes. This power is a taunt aura that grants the user a scaling recharge buff based on the number of foes surrounding the user. The Stalker version of the set doesn’t have a taunt aura, but it offers a small Recharge bonus.

Bolded for Emphasis. Scrappers get Rise to the Challenge, Invincibility, and Against All Odds. This won't be any different.

Ice Melee didn't get ported because the animators are busy with I21 and They don't have time to do a animation for Assasin Strike.. understandable.

I'm confused.. WHAT AoE component to Evenom and Weaken.. they are ST...

.... I love proliferation. And yet somehow all I feel about this is 'meh'.

No ninjitsu scrappers? I suppose the need to replace caltrops with something else might violate the 'no art assets' rule, but surely there could have been *something* they could swap in? No rad masterminds? *NOTHING* for doms? I mean, sure you've got plans, but can't you toss us illusion as a bone for now? Soon(tm) isn't especially comforting when everyone got something except us. No broadsword tanks? No traps controllers? Energy aura but *not* energy melee for scrappers? And somehow they managed to finally give me the 'maximum spiky silliness' combo of spines and ice armor on the same character... on the one melee AT that can't have damage auras.

I swear, how the heck do they keep proliferating things and manage to keep missing the ones I want? Especially when, in the case of doms, there isn't anything *left* to be proliferated *except* the set I want?!? At least I can make my emp/fire defender now.

Ustream say's they're getting a small aoe component thats half as effective as the single target part.
