The Devs said all the existing servers will be Free Servers so our Server will be alive and well just with all the new free people.
So no server merger VIP is a new server.

Positron's i13 letter: We are trying to make PvP more accessible to new players, while giving experienced PvP'ers the advantage that comes with formulating tactics around the new systems we're putting in place. PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.

I think it's cool they will be going to a F2P hybrid model. It makes sense for them to do it. I am hoping they will offer some kind of lifetime sub too.
I'll stay on Triumph so long as everyone in the Grand Coalition does. I would hope they would be able to transfer SG bases and such if we decide to transfer though.

A lifetime sub would be awesome. I'm pretty excited to think that there will be more people to team with, but it will suck if the vets do transfer and the F2P can't L2P. =\
Honestly... IMO the people on this server havn't left yet cause none of us want to. Home is the right word for it. Sure we PvP on freedom or have an incarnate farming toon there... but this is where we live. =)
Also now we can do two really fun things. 1) Make a bunch of free acounts to fill when you do solo TFs. 2) make a couple more accounts to farm with. Not gonna give it up here but send me a tell in game and i'll tell ya how this is a farmers dream come true. And i'm not just talking about making a few accounts with toons to follow bot buff you... but that will be good also.
But I still smell DOOM!!!

You will not HAVE to change servers. So no need to leave. As a matter of fact, (cue the Lord Recluse voice over) if we all stay, we will PWN the new cheap non-paying players. We can dominate this server then move to take over smaller servers forcing them to give us their l00t. Then when we have amassed our forces, Triumph will take over the WORLD. Or at least Boomtown. I think we could handle that.

I resubbed and am in the process of learning what I missed because of the announcement.
I also have n00bs coming to join me from the office.
As long as we can get some fun things going on a consistent basis with non-baddies (like I had on my first run of one of the trials last night =0), I'm up for leading events again.

Alright on light of the news today, CoX will be going F2P (no surprise really). They will be offering a new VIP only server (for us subscribers). So is this truly the end of Triumph? I have been here since I started the game ... and I am way to lazy to transfer everything.
Although I might be able to get some friends to finally come join.
