Pvp is a section off the forums where you can make a rediculous thread and get hundreds of pew pew responses.

I would like to thank you all. This thread has turned out better than I had hoped. In the spirit of it current state I would like to point out that 4 speed still sounds like a snotty englishman

Quote:Zomg. ThisAlthough true, PvP still stands to be the game's most difficult content and always will be, which will attract the most intense min/maxers of the game.
If anything, PvP is the real end-game of CoX, since being the best will mean you need an extreme level of knowledge (DR, every game mechanic, PvE + more), typically the maximum amount of money you would need (53 HOs will be better than their 50++ ones), knowing the psychology of the person you're fighting, and more precise timing. PvP at higher levels demands perfection and there is not a single thing PvE that only 1 person can do which requires them to be perfect at everything, where as PvP's "best player" so to speak, will have to.
When CoX becomes free to play, a lot of people will run through the hardest content within half a year before they bore of dominating PvE. It can be challenging, but not nearly -as- challenging, and new players are going to need a challenge if they want to stay.
I enjoy high levels of PvE myself, but PvP offers a game where I have to be smarter than my opponent, and outsmarting AI isn't nearly as difficult.
Removing PvP wouldn't do much now, but it would later, players wouldn't stay as long and in the long run they would lose a significant amount to make them regret getting rid of it. -

Almost all current AAA MMO's have dedicated pvp servers that function like our LFG system constantly running with a much more in debth system (multiple scenarios, large world based, etc.) so yes. . . they do need to run 24/7 to count. And thats assuming that our lame almost all user created pvp crap should even count

I stand by my statements even if this thread was started as a joke. Mark my words if pvp isn't fixed the game will die just as soon as the i21s get sick of running our content.

I'v been slowly upgrading my desktop through the years but i'v reached a critical point. The upgrades I have made thus far consist of: Nvid 275, 8 gb memory, and a 1200w powah supply.
So now that I am looking at what I'm guessing would/should be: a new tower, a new motherboard, another 275 to sli and maybe liquid cooling?
I am learning as i go and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If any additional info is required please let me know. Thanks!
PS. For bonus points what fps should i expect from this setup playing in ultramode on the advanced end? -
Quote:CareBears asked for it when they decided to post enraging propaganda in the pvp threads...imhoProbably doesn't help cases when I see a lot of PvPers going out of their way to instigate conflict, push buttons, harass, and call other folks that don't PvP "carebears" in threads talking about how the devs don't like PvP. All that aside, I agree, PvP is a part of this game and as such deserves at least some attention.
And wait, how did people get banned for mentioning doughnuts in Castle threads? -
I had to post in this thread. First off, I love everything this thread dredges up. I think everything about this game is fantastic however I am seriously shocked the devs still have not addressed its players on the progress since i13. Shame on you. Secondly, why is it every 'ibreakpve' fanboi has to post why they believe pvp is not an investment in these threads? I think pve gets plenty of investment so please if you have nothing to add, gtfo
