You guys still posting in this thread?
Why do you always have to try and drag up the forum drama after everything has been settled? I mean Dr. Geminiman was able to come here on the forums to whine about how emo he gets when people don't run their attack chain past him before the mission and the freedom community at large was able to sit him in the corner with his dunce cap warn at a jaunty angle.
You are such an insensitive jerk. Learn to let things go.
Way to insult someone for saying he likes teams to follow his style...then go and get emo about the very same thing Jman

In my story though I didn't whine or be "cranky" about the guy going against what I set forth in the beginning of the mission. Instead I took matters into my own hands and I played the game the way I wanted to play it.
The very best part is that Lieran was the leader of the team and was far too nice to boot him, but she crashed and it went to Tuxedogin, who was completely indifferent to my plight of removing said person from the team. But wouldn't you know it, he crashed as well so the star fell to Taxee who was just as annoyed at the guy as I was.
So at the end of the mission, right before we completed the Task Force (an hour of our time) the star came into Taxee's control and we booted the guy from out team. He did not get any credit for the TF, or a reward.
But I wasn't rude to him
Truly epic times from Triumph of the Dr. Gemini drama.
Wow! I'm having flashbacks to 2005 on the Triumph server, from this thread!

You are supposed to come back in the thread and be like "oh no, my take on things is completely legit. how dare you entire server disagree with what I had to say!!!111"
Now, leave the thread and come back in and do it again, this time with feeling. I can't make fun of you if you aren't going to at least try.
I don't really have anything else to say. People are continuing the drama without my help...
There are a few individuals I wouldn't mind ranting about but...

I'm curious now. Ran the E-Man stuff on Wednesday with you and pulled a few extra spawns on us from time to time, dying infrequently.
Pain or fun? I didn't hear any complaints, but I chocked that up to E knowing how we usually run (and him being happy I wasn't J-Man on a Tank hauling stuff from all over creation). |

Wow, are you guys still posting on this thread?
Laser, on the non-Mo runs I am very loose about things & just want to have some fun w/everyone - Luna can attest that on Mondays I occasionaly run off by myself...aggro large groups & usually die in the process (stupid zombies)... It's just the Master of... runs where I require people to actually listen & follow instructions.
|
It is fun to pull extra spawns though. I'm not as good at it since I lost Acrobatics... thanks Customs.
I've teamed with some of the people posting in this thread, including DrGemini, and while I can't say that I regular any of your groups, I've found that if you frequent the forums you're likely atleast decent at playing the game. In other words, DrGemini runs good teams, probably like you and like me (although I can't seem to be bothered with that much anymore). I hate it when we act like usual MMO forumers and instantly seek out fault in one another. I thought it obvious that DrGemini's post was about frustration. However, maybe he'd do better finding a different outlet for his grumblings (like I have with my wife :P) since posting these things here is like preaching to a very easily aggravated choir.
Anyway, thanks DrGemini and others here who add that human element that makes MMOs, especially CoH, so entertaining, and hopefully someday I'll have enough time to join one of your +4 Shadow Shard TFs.

And E/Luna, you guys never make any of the stuff you run feel like that. Even the no-nonsense Top Ten SG gets a kick out of having us around being "inefficient". The time me, Tundy, and Captain Denmark (TT SG Leader) cut up for a few minutes on a BAF it took longer, but everyone started cracking jokes in League chat. Just old skool stuff, nothing cutting edge, but it was awesome. Might have taken a few minutes more, but we still beat it. People hung out for about 12 runs, chatting up the entire time.
...
And, I am of the opinion that when you join a team run by me or another person, you are generally agreeing to follow the instructions/directions and fulfill the expectations that person has. My main expectation is that people on my team are reasonably intelligent and able to perform their role well without having to really be asked. If you are playing a toon with "buffs," then I generally expect that you will make use of those buffs as much as possible. Yes, maintaining some buffs may be annoying, particularly in large groups, but your contribution goes a long way. Even something as simple as spreading out those nifty "Fortune" buffs can help a lot. |
...
Most importantly, I look for people who can take directions and follow them without me having to ask you more than a couple times, preferably only once. If things are not going well or I feel people are being stupid, just expect that I tend to get very bitchy and cranky. If you can't handle it, just don't join my teams. |
Honestly, I find DrGemini's whole attitude about this thing is insulting. He isn't expected to act humanely (very bitchy and cranky, see bold above). We all, his teammates, have to pick up his slack on personality slotting. And we don't know him from Null the Gull. Like our lives and jobs don't do the same to us. Belittle us more, please.
If he would have been on a Lambda (I think, might have been a BAF) J-Force was on this weekend he probably would have had a conniption fit.
Situation: We had 9 or 10 people on, plus friends (Morna and a few others) on someone else's Lambda.
First funny thing: Morna and Lieran were constantly asking the League Lead to get them on the same team. It sounded like two kids on a school bus wanting to sit next to each other.
Second funny thing: Mac/Dragao and I decided to do the "He's touching me" "No I didn't, I'm just pointing at you really really close" "I wanna be over there on that side" bit from siblings riding in a car, because it fit the situation. Only we did this instead of killing stuff because it was funny for a bit.
How the leader handled it: Like an exasperated parent, but still did it which was even funnier, asking us if we were happy now.
How it ended up: He ended up playing along even more later when things got a bit hairy, even threatened to "Turn this Lambda around and go home" in the trial. And we beat it down, even with a bit of fun trow'd in there.
From how Gemini paints himself (Miss Prissy Pants w/Attitude) all four of us would have been booted. He'll chime in and say something about having a sense of humor, but that wouldn't be consistent with his concrete "this is the way it is, my way or the '/em kick button twitches' " stance on teaming. Which again, would be funny since he obviously can't have it both ways and told us to straighten up and fly straight from the get go. No funny business.
tl;dr version: Grow social skills or stop expecting teams to read your mind.
Edit: Like Turg suggested, we could even help you set up some macros so you can run your little fiefdoms right.
First funny thing: Morna and Lieran were constantly asking the League Lead to get them on the same team. It sounded like two kids on a school bus wanting to sit next to each other. |
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I really think she's one of the most popular people on the server. There are a few others (Luna and E mebbie) who might fight her for that honor, but ... However, since we're not in elementary school, I'm okey with just being friends all over.
J-Man- Lieran, if you were Paris Hilton, I'd be the chihuahua in your purse.
I find it funny that someone feels special enough out of the tens of thousands that play on the Freedom server to actually post something like this. My friend Sean Morey couldn't have sung it better (it's a clip...if you like the song, it's available on his website or go the Bob and Tom website):
It's All About Me
Laser, spot on.
Lieran, it's state law that you and Morna have to be on the same team.

(Sorry, i had to make the joke.)
My pet peeve is people who refuse to acknowledge it when I tell them my character has unlimited power. If I rp attack them they are of course disintegrated beyond the ability of any hospital or magic to restore. Yet despite this they refuse to delete their characters and still keep playing them as if nothing happened. ~Mandu, 07-16-2010
So I just got my Firefly complete series in the mail today after getting back from vacation. I have no idea what it is, I've never seen an episode. Is it anything like Farscape?
You guys should listen to DrGemini more. He is the only man I know who has a degree in mirrored images.
I look forward to the day I get to team with him, it will be so much fun.
Like the other day I was running a lgtf. I wanted to do a shard run, some of the team said they wanted to do a stealth run, the rest of the team was indifferent. I go about in the first mish killing everything as normal, when one guy decides to stealth the entire mish and spawns the clockwork king, which finishes the mission. I was pissed, I'm here trying to get me some shards to build my t4 damage alpha slot.
Luckily when the group did the team tp to get the guy and the NPC back to the door the npc was stuck on me. So I went back through the mission killing stuff and getting shards just like I wanted. It seemed like a fair trade. The guy that wanted to stealth was able to stealth the mission, and then I was able to go through the mission and kill everything like I wanted.
Once I was satisfied with killing everything I took the NPC back to the door (where the stealth half of the team had been waiting) and we moved on to the next mission.
