See, that's the problem: Perception. You see it as blowing off steam. We see it as someone using the forum as their soapbox declaiming "Why I'm Awesome: An Awesome Essay Of Why I'm Awesome And Others Are Not".

I think my in-game reputation speaks for itself.
In-game, maybe. Not here. Here, thanks to your post, you just come across as a petulant narcissist with megalomaniacal tendencies. Hiding behind your "rep" just makes it worse. Never assume people know how awesome you are, and you'll never make an a-word out of yourself doing it.

Though, the introduction of these new iTrials (BAF/Lambda) seems to have brought out a large number of the "idiot" crowd who don't listen no matter what you do. You could use every possible means to communicate with them and they still seem to find their way onto the short bus...
I don't disagree with this, although I've been lucky enough to be on regular teams where idiocy like this is, thankfully, rare.

Anyway, my original response still stands. Leave your drama off our boards. Add to the community, don't detract. Someone ticks you off, you resolve it with them, not through a public venue that probably won't get to your intended target(s).

Don't take it personally. But DO take it as meaningful advice.

Be careful what you say here, I feel for your comments. I hate speed and do clear mishes to get better drops but most are in a hurry. I had a run the other night on the LGTF where I told everyone this wasn't a speed run but a shard farm and they still stealthed it and killed the hostages. The team's drops was almost 40% less than my other runs. I was angry.

But this is the nature of this game. Look me up this weekend if you doing long runs. I'm be online from Friday 1pm till Monday Midnight. @gcarlisle on Freedom.

Big thing here is unless you're on my Global I wouldn't know you at all nor you me. I play too much and have a tendency to run an alt to fifty, don't have altitis.

I'm sure you've noticed playing with the same people of the same level or more likely the same time you play. I know I get friended a lot due to getting invites as soon a I log in no matter what I am logging into.

Do you run under the DrGemini or variations of the name? I can't off hand remember. I play odd hours, too, so it could be likely if your Villian side

36 level 50's in various servers...haven't been here in a while. It's now over 50

I would love to team with my firekin but sadly the whole sb issue kills it for me. For the record toons such as stoners and khelds will never be short of a boost

All this said, I'd probably team with Dr. G because it sounds like he knows what he's doing. In game drama is uncool, because I like to have fun, but it seems like he's had this bottled up for a while.

Looks can be deceiving.

Regardless of how well he knows his stuff, or plays the game, or has this bottled up inside and given all of us a piece of his mind in his venting, a sign of a good leader (in my opinion) is someone who can keep the 'bitchy and cranky' to a low roar in teams/leagues and compensate for the problems as they arise with some level of poise and control. To kick someone because they are a 'drag to the team' (I'd like some kind of clarification on what his definition of 'drag to the team' is) without proper, or warranted, kicking rings to me that he'd rather get what he needs from someone, then drop them so the numbers increase in his favor for drops.

As far as this clarification is concerned, what makes someone a 'drag to the team'?
- They're new and not entirely sure how to play a particular AT?
- They are still getting the hang of a particular raid, tf/sf, trial, and tend to make some mistakes?
- They go AFK for several minutes without a prior warning of them not being there? (i.e. Parking themselves in a zone/base/hosp and not responding to tells or pokings for 10+minutes.)
- They're a grievance to the team? (I can get on board with kicking swiftly over this)

See, there's a lot of scenarios that could cause someone to be a 'drag to the team' be it inexperience or that person just being a jacka**.

Only reason I ask is because of what the OP says in his first post.

This game can test your limits sometimes. Give him a break. He's a human being. I'm sure he was professional during the game. The boards is good place to vent.

Yeah, I gotta agree with you Obsidian. I had gotten away from my proverb quoting earlier. "A good tree bears good fruit. A bad tree bears bad fruit."

When I'm running a team, a Leeroy Jenkins can be fun or a pain, depending on if a team can handle it. Someone who doesn't know how to play their AT? I don't care about dead weight. We're running x8 anyway. I only adjust the +whatever. Blappers are the greatest offenders, and those are routinely heralded in the forums here.

I try to be positive. "gj" and "woot" go a long way in helping a team. Getting the mish up, communicating. And I have never said "players are stupid" when/after leading a team. I might tell tales about one particular toon, usually a blapper who wants to show us how it's done. I've had a blapper leading a team tell me, an ill/storm, to not cast any of my pets. I comment that that'd put me back to level 2. I did what he said though, after a team wipe, the PA came out and he didn't complain about Spec Terror, et al.

Dr G did mention BAF. And if you've been on BAFail, they can get super frustrating. Not being able to control 15+ people, half of which are running back from the hospital, it is an endless teamwipe.

Also, the concept of balancing the health...so beyond some people. I've only seen them rez twice though. And I've only had the mish fail due to prisoner escapes once.

*cracks knuckles*

Alright, this has gone on long enough.

a) I ain't going to buff you. There's a bug in my version of CoH that won't let me do that.

b) I ain't going to keep up with everyone. I'll be the last one in the door in fact, so get used to it. If you don't believe me, ask everyone I group with. It isn't a link or pc issue. I just am. It isn't even deliberate. I just am. Must be a game bug.

c) I'm going to die a lot. You'll spend a fair amount of time rezing me and teleporting me around. I don't know why this happens... must be some sort of game bug. As such, Morna needs to be on all of my teams.

Regardless, I have a lot of fun. I don't care that stuff happens just so long as everybody has a good time. I don't get too worked up if people can't figure out where we're supposed to stand to keep agro on the tank.

Life's too short. This is a game. Get on the bus or get pushed under it.

JFS!

J-Man- Lieran, if you were Paris Hilton, I'd be the chihuahua in your purse.

If one is the type that lets this game test their limits, then perhaps one should try looking for something else to do for fun. Venting is one thing, presenting yourself as a Massengill spokesperson is another. If you're going to whine at least attempt to bring something else to the table, otherwise you'll likely get the forum wedgie treatment.

I've got rules when I run a team as well.

Try to keep up. Kill things.

Seems to work out well.

Be well, people of CoH.

I'm curious now. Ran the E-Man stuff on Wednesday with you and pulled a few extra spawns on us from time to time, dying infrequently.

Pain or fun? I didn't hear any complaints, but I chocked that up to E knowing how we usually run (and him being happy I wasn't J-Man on a Tank hauling stuff from all over creation).

Post wasn't on E-man's team last night, he was on mine.

My bad. Getting back from a 2 year hiatus appears to have scrambled some Blapper brain cells.

For the most part, I can say that I've teamed up with some great people. I really don't have that many complaints or people I could name that have been problems. In fact, 99% of the PUGs I join/run are pretty great.

The ironic part is that some of my complaints seem to be well-addressed in the upcoming new stuff

AoE SB, ID... 7 years I have waited for this news cause it will make it a lot easier

Nope, didn't die once w the blaster. Only once with the tank and it was my own fault for jumping out ahead. Since my wee tank wasn't able to pull much aggro, I just headed off. Oh, and when I don't keep up there are usually caves or confusingness involved.

Now, I did play Saltier, the blaster, much different than usual since I was pretty slow most of the time. I did all my lotg rech at 40+ so no more permahasten for me. And I'd been meaning to try using inferno as much as possible, so I did.

(this took me 900 years to type on my iPod. I just hope the beginning of sentences matches with the end.)

The bottom line is that 9 times out of 10, if you do what the leader says, you will get it done. Nothing is more frustrating than, say, the leader call for chokes and half the team does doors or vice versa. That is a guaranteed recipe for disaster. Even if the leader has a bad strat, (not saying you do Gemini), having everyone on the same page is better then half the team going off half-cocked doing their own thing.

Post and Mr Laser, you all were on different teams Wed night. You all are both great players in my opinion.
