Quote:Not that I need to warn you (this being Freedom and all), but here's some snark with a side of halp.I haven't played the game since issue 7 and I realize an awful lot has changed. Many are in a rush now to hit 50 and go farming so it makes it difficult for me to team and just enjoy the experience. I wanna read the arcs at times or at least fight on teams who are not always looking for +2/+3 enemies on full teams and have no patience at all. I actually enjoy smaller teams, it doesn't mean going slow but I don't think it should just be about the XP. Any suggestions? Right now I have a level 27 Scrapper on Freedom-villain side. The choices seem narrower on red side as well.
Thanks

You looked really hard before you took the time to write out 4.5 lines of whine. Like Necro said, E-Man's even running stuff Red Side every Wednesday.

The Horde in particular and their channel are usually down for running anything at most hours of the day/night. Try joining their channel 'Freedom TF Chat'. (Kind of surprised Turg didn't roll out the Freedom Welcome Wagon for you with a post yet). -
Quote:You have to choose a defeat limit when you start for the TF to track it. If you don't, it won't show. Tracking is just for bragging rights mind you. Just like this one:All in all, I died twice, and BRUTAL died 4 times (for some reason, I can't get the correct defeats when the complete screen comes up).

Turg and I went and ran a BAF after, in which I found out I really am on some kind of ignore list for Hami Raids. I'm willing to bet that the person probably blamed me for the attention span issues on the BAF as well with the pot shot they took at me for the Raid business.
All-in-all, great afternoon for me. -
I'm in if the last spot hasn't been taken yet. First choice is the Eng/Eng Blaster, but I've got an Ill/Kin 'troller, Cold/Elec 'fender, Crab, and Widow that I can roll.

Replied on Facebook. I can bring many. Flexible for team composition, but I love me playing some Blaster.

Quote:/em slowly unbuttons his zipperMy personal sg is just a warehouse that one toon of mine runs.
I've only got toons on Freedom and I parked old alts I keep hanging on to at Virtue last time we had the free transfers. I'd play Virtue, but the RP guys bug me/creep me out. I tend to play female toons so the RPs creeping on me is just unnerving. "I'm a guy" often doesn't cut it.
That's what I do to RPers. Old J-Force joke. I can't even remember where it came from. Has 'em scratching their heads for a minute. -
I hate all of you people that aren't allergic to pet dander. You can keep large dogs though. One took a bite out of my face growing up.

From the VIP list of benefits: priority queuing
WTH is this? Being on Freedom for my entire sub, I hate when que comes up since we've been hit pretty hard on high volume events. Even that "server crash" party turned into a slideshow, which wasn't playable.
IF however, that means we get to boot some n00b off the server so we can get on, I'm all for it! Lift the red crushed velvet rope for the VIP Lounge! -
Quote:Edit: This whole plan looks very familiar to the one LotRO has. They just switched the columns around for Free and VIP. Not as ground breaking as they're selling it.My proof is:
Dungeons and Dragons Online
Champions Online
Those both have lifetime subs for their top tier memberships. If CoH goes that way, then they need to adopt that model. I've already dropped 5 years worth of subs on these guys.
Assume $13.95 per quarter for the first 3 years = $669.60
Two years on 6 month subs = $310.80
Total for around 5 years = $980.40
If they want to start nickel and diming me for "free to choose" content, they need to offer something in the $150-$200 price point for a lifetime sub with the 400 Paragon Points monthly. At least that's what the going rate for a lifetime sub is (unless you have the Star Trek IPO to cover cost on).
That price is (unfortunately) what they're offering for the 12 month sub. Price points need to be re-evaluated if they want to jump into this market. Honestly, I'd spend more on their new form of currency for stuff if I don't have to worry about my recurring sub fee. More than I would if I had that and the content price to worry about. I know I do that with my STO account. -
Assuming you keep dropping the subscription fee each month, these are the differences I see from the matrix table:
1. You stop earning Vet Rewards quarterly, but you can buy them with with the Monthly Reward Points. Means no more subscription time badges unless you spend for them (since they specifically mention you keep those badges). But you do get to skip ones you don't want.
2. You don't have to buy the Going Rogue Expansion, VIP members will get this with the subscription. Honestly, greedy me is impressed that they've been collecting cash for box purchases over the last year since they saw this coming. Nice.
3. You have to spend those 400 Paragon Points to get access to these "new improved" content they're producing. I don't like this because they haven't talked about price conversion. It can't be 1 PP = $1 since they're giving us 400 PP per month. A more likely conversion would be $15 = 400 PP or 1PP = ~26 cents. But that doesn't guarantee they're going to use the same pricing model for the store content (booster packs $9.99 = 267 PP). And we have no baseline for what a Power Set, Zone, or in-game item would be in real money. It's entirely possible they could charge 1200 PP or 2000 PP (like Cryptic does) for Zones and Power Sets, the equivalent of 3 months of subscription Paragon Points. -
They didn't have challenges for Task Forces when we ran that 8 hour STF job, did they... I wish we had documentation for that...

Try dnsbench. It cleared up most of my problems. Korean DNS servers don't necessarily want to go to the right spot, or US redirects send the traffic the wrong way (or kill it completely) because of the loose copyright laws here in a misguided attempt to stop all traffic from the country.

If the J-Man can lead them and has never had one fail, I'd say these are very possible with just about any league that listens even half the time. There's 6 stages to the trial. Don't remember them off the top of my head. The hardest thing for people to do seems to be following directions on which door set to go down (labs or warehouse).

Quote:That's what tickles me dude. Your ego is so large that all I had to do was get a bit extravagant with a negative reply to elicit a response. After 11days! I honestly didn't think you'd come back. What I find funny is this is on page 4 long after things have run their course. If anything, this kind of late post shows that there are, indeed, some people who just can't seem to wrap their mind around whatever the original post was intended for. And, by the time a post like yours pops up, the original argument is so far in the past that it feels like it is desparately trying to be relevant.
Thing is that my post seems to have drawn out quite a few people who are finding ways to create more of an enterainment factor than I even imagined possible...
FYI - you never actually discussed anything, you just feel your way is the only way to play a game and left it at that. I can't believe you think what went on in this thread was a discussion. Your team kicking seems to be your stress reliever instead of social interaction, seems megalomaniac to me. But it's entertaining in a forum.
Edit: I really loved when you ignored the people socially trying to connect with you, and there were quite a few.
Way to ruin a good TV discussion that had nothing to do with you. -

Better place for this is the Technical section of the forums.
But... try changing your DNS servers. A lot of times the default you're using can choose to go to an MMO server by a very strange route.
