I'm having a hard time finding players to team with that aren't about rushing.

I haven't played the game since issue 7 and I realize an awful lot has changed. Many are in a rush now to hit 50 and go farming so it makes it difficult for me to team and just enjoy the experience. I wanna read the arcs at times or at least fight on teams who are not always looking for +2/+3 enemies on full teams and have no patience at all. I actually enjoy smaller teams, it doesn't mean going slow but I don't think it should just be about the XP. Any suggestions? Right now I have a level 27 Scrapper on Freedom-villain side. The choices seem narrower on red side as well.

Thanks

First of all, welcome back to the game!

I find myself having the same problem. I am a stop and smell the roses kind of player and I tire of constant speed TFs and steam rolling every mission. I like to crank the difficulty up a bit and working out stategies to get through. I am on Freedom as well and have a few villains in that level range. I usually play around 9:00 PM central time on week nights, so if you are on at that time, shoot me a tell @Guardian Irish-Fury, and I'll be happy to join you.

You could start by changing your name to "Wait-I-wanna-read-this-arc Slasher"

Can always read the story for the arc or tf at paragonwiki.com

I know it is hard but there are a few people that do that as well I am one of them.

I am one who enjoys taking it a bit slower as well. Mostly, I enjoy a good team of folks that isn't afraid to slow down, bring out the big guns, and leave a lot of dead guys in our wake.

I so wish they would make a change so that all TFs/SFs can be run at 50 (if so chosen). I would be found soloing TFs all day if that were the case...

We all feel the shame caused by our heroes who never leave Atlas, shouting for a free farm while being rude and racist and trolling in any way they can.

Don't stay in Atlas on Freedom. Get out ASAP.

That said. I know I feel more of a want to get to 50 on my current main toons now because of the Incarnate system.

[huge paragraph removed because I lost interest before I finished]

Thanks for the feedback guys. It really isn't just about reading the story arcs so much, that was just used as an example. I guess it is that appears everybody is in a race to get to 50, the constant power leveling, and many just want to work on their set IOs. I just wanna enjoy the journey a bit more and not only be about making a min/max build. I've found soloing to be pretty fun though!

I'll add you Irish-Fury.

Well the way I level some times is by getting on the TFs where it really challenges you to play your toon. But unfortunately lot of ppl try to rush those too.

I think it would help if the game let the other team members see the dialog with the story. Because, if you're not the leader, you cant' see it.

Or can you?

Speed runs have become more and more prevalent in this game, the more I play. I am not sure if this is because I have more time to play these days, so I notice them, or if our target audience has changed. I know freedom is notorious for xp farmers, but I am sure they also have a good solid regular group of players, just like any other servers.

I control speed runs by running my own teams and task forces, or using my own SG members to fill my teams and task forces. If I recruit others to team, I will go at my own pace, and if people are running ahead, doing their own thing, or rushing them along, I will either ask them to please stick with the group, or ask them to leave the group (kick).

The best advice I can offer is to build a global friends list based on people who seem to be leveling at your pace. My favorite part of teaming is the community, so my global friends are people who like to talk, tell jokes, and have fun while playing. It might be a slow start, but you'll get there eventually. Good luck to you, and welcome back!

I'm in the same boat as you a lot of the time, so I end up soloing story arcs. Feel free to add me to global @FrosterV.2. I'm on freedom.

I mostly have a few level 30+ characters, but I have one going through Praetoria, and I shall definately be making a few more come I21.

Edit: wrong global.

The leader sees the complete dialogue. The team can only see a summary of it under the Mission tab.

I suggest that you lead the team instead of waiting to be invited. That way, you can read the story. If someone else is leading, the story is archived in Paragon wiki. Mr E-man is leading Op Renault this Wed, July 27. It's not a speed run, so I suggest you join them.

i also dislike speeding things, which is one of the reasons i also dislike trials is cause they feel too rushed

i enjoy mass killing baddies with friends but not focusing on completing a mish within like 2 minutes, i do occasionally up the difficulty for some challenge and i do also enjoy running small team task forces with friends for the challenge as well

if your ever around on victory server feel free to look me up

Not that I need to warn you (this being Freedom and all), but here's some snark with a side of halp.

/em looks around the first page of the Freedom Server Section

You looked really hard before you took the time to write out 4.5 lines of whine. Like Necro said, E-Man's even running stuff Red Side every Wednesday.

E-Man's Villanous Wednesdays for Fallen Heroes: Renault Task Force
Horde Faultline Part 1 Run
E-Man's VWfFH Ouro Badge Run
Horde Hollows Run Part the Two
Plant Superteam Thread
Tanker Tuesdays
Dual Pistols Superteam Thread
E-Man's VWfFH Villian Respec

The Horde in particular and their channel are usually down for running anything at most hours of the day/night. Try joining their channel 'Freedom TF Chat'. (Kind of surprised Turg didn't roll out the Freedom Welcome Wagon for you with a post yet).

At the risk of sounding old, I much prefer to take it slower and steadier.
Steamrollering missions can be fun but it misses out on a lot of the whole "being a superhero" story.
If you fancy a fogey plod about and some good ol fashioned story arc playing then look me up. @Ditzy I.P I play on union mostly.

"Oh my God, they're coming right for us!"

I had a busy weekend. :P

Welcome back, Speed. Stop complaining, look at all the open team threads here, get into the mix TONIGHT on Luna's team and show us what you got, amigo.

There. Better, Laser?

He's a villain Turgie, so Wednesday night with Mr E would probably fit him better. But if he's got a hero level 25+ on Freedom,he's more than welcome to join us tonight! =)

Welcome to Freedom. Sorry most of the popular are power leveling dorks. But there are some of us out here who like to clear missions, and fight through the objectives. Sometimes the Horde runs fast (as in run through and smash everything and just keep rolling until it's all smashed!), but if someone says "Hey, I want to fight, or read the dialog", etc, we accommodate.

Like others have said, join some chat channels, make some global friends with people who play the way you like, sign up for events on the forums that intrigue you.

Good luck!
