While this could be a reason to keep him, it doesn't mean they won't. Statesman has been the face of the game for a long time; even if they kill him the game will maintain homages and references to the character. To a new player that helmet could stand for hero, or just a game symbol. To those of us that know it is Statesman's helmet, we can have a bit of nostalgia to the old ways, as the game continues to evolve.

As corny as this quote is, its not about the destination, its the journey. If I could get to level 20 in a couple of hours solo, and have solid content, I would be all for it. I have NO desire to sit there and kill wave after wave of mindless, poorly crafted enemies. Show me an arc with a fun story, fun enemies, and an enjoyable set of maps that I can get to 20 in a couple of hours with, and you might have my attention. I am in no hurry to get to 50 (or any other level), I just want to enjoy my play time. The challenges of Praetoria are worth the little bit of extra time, since getting to 20 doesn't take that long, even without farming.

I guess I misunderstood the wanting to stay in Praetoria as not wanting to farm AE, but the want to stay in Praetoria was not actually mentioned by the OP. Sorry to put my opinion in a spot that didn't make sense (in my defense it was 4am), and congratulations on getting your Kheld up and running! Have fun!
  3. I am very excited to see this! I love this "show". Hmm, I have two days to re-watch the seasons
  4. I am not as active on Infinity as I once was Belle, but after seeing you around the server for as long as I have, I would have no problem following you into a trial! I am sure you did and will do awesome, you have always been very helpful to the Infinity community!
  5. I think even bigger confusion is when EVERYONE on the trial thinks they know more than the leader. While I am always good with just listening to what the leader says, one could imagine how intimidating it is to see 8 out of 16 people have a different strategy for the trial, and a confused person trying to decide if the leader is right, an SG member is right, or if a friend is right. More often than not, the leaders get drowned out by the people too cowardly to form their own trials, but have no problem telling the leader they are doing it wrong!
  6. Speed runs have become more and more prevalent in this game, the more I play. I am not sure if this is because I have more time to play these days, so I notice them, or if our target audience has changed. I know freedom is notorious for xp farmers, but I am sure they also have a good solid regular group of players, just like any other servers.

I control speed runs by running my own teams and task forces, or using my own SG members to fill my teams and task forces. If I recruit others to team, I will go at my own pace, and if people are running ahead, doing their own thing, or rushing them along, I will either ask them to please stick with the group, or ask them to leave the group (kick).

The best advice I can offer is to build a global friends list based on people who seem to be leveling at your pace. My favorite part of teaming is the community, so my global friends are people who like to talk, tell jokes, and have fun while playing. It might be a slow start, but you'll get there eventually. Good luck to you, and welcome back!

Statesman would have the most shock value, and would allow the devs to really do some new and interesting stuff with story....

Everyone loves a bad boy, and Manticore is as close to a bad boy as the Phalanx gets...

I am going to jump on the band wagon and guess Statesman. With so much of the content being geared towards incarnates right now, and if I understand the lore correctly, Statesman is the only hero incarnate in the Freedom Phalanx. It would allow them to do something "dramatic" in regards to the Phalanx, change up the story a bit, and allow them to explore more powers of the well (ie, perhaps bringing Statesman back to life, or the destruction of the well).

With a couple others I've seen posting, I do not agree with the "shock value" aspect of killing off a character, but if the devs are using this story to enhance current lore and tell a good story, allowing themselves to alter and improve content (not just incarnate stuff) or even bring a fresh face (a new hero) to the game, than I support the decision. If the killing of a hero is just an excuse to "fix" a task force (ie, citadel) then I will be disappointed, unless that fix is so amazing that nobody can stand it. They didn't need to kill Positron to take time to improve his task force. I am interested in seeing where this goes, and I have faith that whatever the devs do, will be for the betterment of the game.

I didn't know people WANTED to be in Praetoria :P. Just kidding, Praetoria has some great story, graphics, and is a refreshing change from the standard 1-20 content (especially villian side :/), I just know that I end up soloing a lot of my lower level toons, and I find the zones have some frustrating missions if you are not a brute/tank/scrapper... Perhaps that is just because I am used to those ATs more than others...
  10. I also have this problem. I was told that I needed to give permission to CoH as an administrator to make the change it continues to ask for, and that message will go away, but I have still been unsuccessful in making that happen

I just now saw Morgan Reeds link... I will try the other option, thanks Morgan!

Also, Manticore is gonna get dead? 0.o What about every mission he appears in? Nemesis duplicate? How the hell do you kill a character in an MMO without throwing a huge chunk of story and missions out the window!?
Keep in mind there is a similar advertisement showing Statesman's shattered helmet. I don't think we know who is going to die yet. Also keep in mind the Devs are rewriting stories and changing and updating things as we speak. Who knows what changes they ACTUALLY have in mind. The Devs probably aren't even sure yet.
  12. My story implies leadership, but I have no problem allowing Mao Kahn leadership.
  13. Purraj:
Am I so different than you? If not, then why do you look at me in fear? THEY wish us to be in a cage, a dimension artificially created to keep us entertained, exercised, and fed. They say it is our own world, but I know better. Through use of magic, science, and technology my parents were forced to push aside their humanity and embrace their animal instinct. My parents refused to give in to the predatory nature that Project Moreau was trying to cultivate, to create an army of soldiers like the world has never seen. They amused the scientists and funders when it was discovered that my mother was expecting a child, and they kept them around, until I was able to fend for myself. It became apparent that I had the intelligence (perhaps even more) and motor skills of any human, yet there was very obviously a degree of ferociousness in my nature. The more developed I became the less interested they were in my parents. Eventually, to cut on spending, they destroyed my parents like stray dogs in a pound, so they could focus on me. They kept me in their manmade dimension, pulling me out for tests, tests and more tests. They did not notice the resentment I felt towards their poking and prodding, they showed no remorse or interest in the death of my parents.
I knew it was time to rally the others. There were all manners of creature within the dimension where we were crated. Some did not know that there was another world, others had experienced far more heart wrenching stories than mine. I understood that humans feared us, I could smell it every time I was ushered back into the dimension, or left alone with a guard. If they wanted to see what deadly weapons we could be, I say we show them. Our physical features made them think of us as nothing more than beasts, so it took them by complete surprise when we orchestrated an ambush that allowed us to escape from our prison, and bring utter devastation to that Portal Corp lab. We couldn't destroy the portal, or we would imprison everyone forever. Looking at the carnage we had caused, I realized no one in Paragon would truly sympathize with our plight, and we would be made to look like monsters. We would be outcasts, even though we exist because of human hands. I secured the Portal Corp base as best as I good, so we could come back for the others, and as night fell, we fled to the only place we knew we would have a chance at being free; A place that was riddled with mishaps, experiments, and monsters. A place where humans seemed to be the minority, and walked in fear everywhere they went. A place where eventually, even a spider could get trapped into his own web!
  14. KayJMM- that's a cool Serrellian! What server is she on? It would be fun to see her in action
  15. I just wanted to let everyone know that we will prolly not be on this thursday, or much of the week. We have some family coming into town, and will be spending some time with them! Hope you all have a good week!
  16. Just wanted to throw a shout-out to 37 and his story arc. He did a good job with it, IMO. I also wanted to say that we will most likely not be in much, if at all, this week, playing the game. We have some family coming into town. This includes Thursday night If our plans change, I will let you know.
  17. Hmmm, I can't tell if this interest is sarcasm... enthusiasm... or both... Than again, Operative Wylde had the last post, so what can I expect! Haha, talk to everyone soon.

I think he looks pretty cool. You might want to double check the color gold you are using, but the difference could be simply be us viewing the same thing through two different computers. And of course, by all means nothing printed said you had to follow our examples to a T, so if that is the gold you wish to use, by all means, go ahead and keep it. Nice job, though. It looks sweet!
  19. This is the base story of the Serrellian Empirium. In creating the above photos, we are trying to encourage any members to have unity with our group, while allowing for creativity and flexibility. If you are a member of The Empirium, purple and gold are required for the first costume (however you can work them in) but the Serrellians are an entire group of people. Not all Serrellians that have found their way into this group are required to be a part of the Imperium. The Imperium is an "exclusive" royal guard, which is why their colors are asked to match appropriately for one costume. These creatures are an underwater race, so while no powers are required or excluded, please keep in mind that they have to be able to function underwater, or be explainable as to how and why they recently acquired them.

Serrellians are a race of beings that have lived underneath the sea, unbeknownst to mankind. While their people have colonies throughout most of the major oceans, their capital city would be Serrellia, which happens to be deep in the Atlantic Ocean, not too far from the coast of Rhode Island. As the oceans became dirtier and more polluted, the king of Serrellia thought it wise that his people have an opportunity to find a new habitat. He discovered Paragon City, and realized with the broad range of humanoid creatures that flourished there, his people would have an opportunity to blend in and find their own life.

While most people thought the king most wise in this decision and welcomed the opportunity to leave their watery dwellings, there was a small faction of Serrellians who believed that it was because of humans that they had to leave their homes and that humans should be punished... This faction is led by one of the king's own sons, the second in line for the throne. On a sad day, the Serrellian Empirium (the royal guard) found the king dead. Was this murder brought on by a nearby Coralax assassin, who the Serrellians have long been at war with, or did the king's own son bring about the untimely day of the Serrellian king?

The Serrellian Empirium, led by the eldest son of the king and heir to the throne, decided it was time to leave their city. Dressed in the colors of the Emperium (gold, white, and purple) they left the ocean and settled into Paragon. The heir to the throne refused the crown, but said he would pave the way for Serrellians to be accepted on land.

Meanwhile, the son who so despised mankind, found himself alienated from his family and alone in the Rogue Isles. Unsure of his next move, but eager to bring down his pompous brothers, he found himself under the employ of Lord Recluse. While he hated to be serving a human master, he knew Recluse would make him powerful enough that not only could he bring down the Serrellian Empirium, but Lord Recluse himself, where he could create a new kingdom to bring his people to.
  20. I just wanted to let you all know I might be a little bit late on Thursday. I had to switch my work schedule, I should be at most 30 minutes late, but I will be there.

    With that being said,

As we are working towards Vigilante/Villians, does anyone have any thoughts on where we want to go with our next story. Our last few sessions have been very rp lite, which is fine; but I thought perhaps we want to work on getting back into character. If anyone has any story ideas, I'd love to hear them or get them started!

  21. I just wanted to let you guys know that we are running behind shedule this evening! We might be a little bit late, but we will be on as soon as we can! Thanks!

I also really appreciate your patience, and am thankful you haven’t kicked me to the curb by now. That said, Im starting over in a sense, and I need to catch everyone up.
No worries! I totally understand that school and real life comes first! That being said, I am going to admit that I am glad to see a non marvel character taking LeBeau's place; I think it will work with the flow of the SG much better and allow you a lot more creative liberty! I haven't read your new info yet, but I am looking forward to reading it, and regardless of how much you participate you are still a welcome member of the group!
  23. I think, unless anyone is opposed, we should just run it together, like this Thursday, or sometime when everyone is around! I think it would be neat for us, and maybe give us something to work on with our characters in the meantime.
  24. Hey, just wanted to remind everyone, the servers are going to be turned off on Thursday, for most of the day. I believe they are coming back up 7:00 Eastern time, so they shouldn't affect our play time, but be aware that we might have some issues, and traffic may be higher than normal.
