I made a new character named "A Trained Monkey" solely for the to amusement provided when the name comes up in NPC dialog.

So this is a thread for what I've managed to come up with so far... if you have a toon with a similarly silly name, feel free to post your funniest NPC comments.

I've only been at this two days so I'm not sure I've hit any real home runs yet, but on the whole I'm keeping myself amused:

My friends and I had started an SG once of characters with names like this...

"That Darn Hero"
"An IRS Auditor"
"My Accountant"
"My Cat Nibbles"

You get the idea.

Had a (short lived, thanks to another SG starting up and taking more time) duo a while back with another player. Don't remember exactly what the names were, but something like 'A tiny kitten' and 'A lost puppy.'

"I heard a tiny kitten beat up Guido!"

Bet you get a good laugh when you de evolution. " oh wow it is a trained monkey!"

I only have two characters with names like that.
Jess A-girl, my high school anime girl tank, whose battle cry is "you about to beaten by A-girl.
And my undead dual blade/dark brute Crypt D. Knight. Who of course has a green aura.

I love it!

The only thing similar to this I ever considered was making a hero character named Parking Meter so that during a Safeguard you'd get something like this.

Hellion Buckshot has defeated Parking Meter.
Parking Meter: No! My Brother! Prepare to be avenged!
Parking Meter has defeated Hellion Buckshot.

I also considered creating a character named Mah Authoritah so I could one day change all his powers around and then claim in Broadcast:

"I have respec'd Mah Authoritah!"

Nice.

This is basically how I came up with my global. After playing for a few weeks, I got tired of the citizens saying; "Thanks! You're a hero!"

Tech Support Rule #1 - They will lie to you. Usually intentionally.

Hilarious ideas, as usual. ^_^

Haven't had A Trained Monkey de-evolved yet, but I expect it will happen soon enough.

I have a character named Suddenly Tammy, but the name is a more situational fit into the game's dialogs.

Deleted now but at one time on several servers I had "I personally"

Resulted in braggart citizens.

"Word on the street is I personally foiled a hellion plot."

"Did you hear I personally rescued the fortune teller?"

Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!

I had a couple good laughs with a toon named "Yo Mama" a while back. Didn't last long, but it likewise made for very fun NPC dialogue.

Also, my fave is "A Trained Monkey is NOT a bum."

I've run across a number of enemies in game complaining "What's with this interruption!" which inspired me to create my Dark/Dark tank Interruption.

Throwing darts at the board to see if something sticks.....

Come show your resolve and fight my brute!

The other also creates fun dialog, but actually has a reason behind it. "a tiny kitten", who has a group of street thugs who protect it from harm.

"Can play" is not a binary. It's a float.

Is a cute fuzzy bunny a Warshade? I once teamed with someone's Warshade that had a name like that (can't recall now what it was exactly though), which indeed made for some fun in-mish dialogue.

That said, the idea of a tiny kitten being protected by street thugs is pretty funny too.

Like I need another toon, but this thread is making me want to create another alt.

My old, first 50 that got his name nerfed for no good reason way back in the day...It always made me and a lot of people laugh when Dammit got his name included in NPC dialogue.
