It's been happening all over the place, some kind of bug with the LFG queue, it dumps you into other peoples' missions. A team of Incarnates poured into my level 40 tip mission the other day. Those Malta never knew what hit them 
the oddest thing i have heard was that a full BAF team got dumped into the final mish of the ITF, it sounded like rommy really **** his pants lol
Same thing happened to me tonight. My Hero gets dumped into a mayhem mission and attacked by confused longbow. It was odd.
So, how does it work? Do you become part of the mish owner's team or is it like a second team is created within the mission?
Haven't had this bug affect me this time around. I remember just after CoV launched, something similar happened to me and a friend on our L50 heroes, we got dumped into a L26's warehouse map. The L26 was a villain. He conned as a target. I decided to test it with my weakest attack. Yep. He got hurt.
Apologised, laughed at the bug, left the map and /bugged it.
I suspect that this is basically the same bug, so you'll be a distinct and separate team to the actual mission's team, they'll con as friendly if they're the same side as you or are running coop tasks, but you might get them conning as enemies if (say) you're a hero team on a villain map.

Lol this thread is total win. I'm going to have to use that button just to see what happens

I want this implemented as a new feature. "Random Team". Complete with the ability for an entire League to drop by. I'd always have my flag set to random.
This happend to have a BAF team - got dumped into the Alpha Slot mission with the Ghost-AV's, so the teams swept through them in about 5 seconds... and we exited the map at least he was a 50 so he wasn't bothered too much.

It seems you don't join the team of whatever random mission you land in. For me I was completely by myself when I landed in that mayhem mission. I also remember a lvl 50 controller popping in also.

This also happened to me last Wednesday. I was on my Hero Illusion/Emp Controller and set to "Willling to join Trial in progress"... ended up on a level 42(?) Founder's Falls Safeguard where there were at least 2 others present. It had seemed as if the mission had just started, seeing how the Fog of War was still very much present and got the "The Bank is Being Robbed" notice as I was making my way back to PPD van.
I didn't stick around to talk to them or find out what was going on. I believe 1 of them saw me, and I felt like I was screwing things up being there.

That would be funny and I'd probably do it as well (at least a few times).
I'd love for the whole league to get kicked/loaded into the final mission of an ITF though hahah....*zap* we win
