WP Tanker vs Tin Mage Bobcat
So there are other Tanker primaries other than Stone?
@hard - @authorised
Little less conversation - little more action please
Yeah im not looking forward to taking on Bobcat with my WP brute neither to be honest
Though i do think i could have a few "tricks" up my sleeve to make her less evil *thinks of ways to stay alive*
- Taunt and fly out of range, regen up quickly, jump back in and rinse and repeat
- Taunt/get hit/phase/regen/repeat
- Taunt and run
- Get the wedding band temp power
- Smash smash smash!

I've seen Stone tanks drop in 3 hits. This was followed shotly there after by several OMGWTFBBQ's in team chat.
Even the non-Tin Mage version of Bobcat has given my own pair of WP/DBs a hard time on occasion. She's just a nasty thing for them to face.
They tend to solve the problem by dropping a Vanguard HAV on her head.
@Brightfires - @Talisander
That chick what plays the bird-things...
She hits for around 5000. Even with 70% S/L (what a WP Tanker with Tough, or an Invuln Brute with Tough has), she'll hit for 1500 and can kill you in 2-3 hits. Invuln or Stone with Tough (Tanker) has 90% RES and can take more hits. If you don't have Tough she can kill you much faster.
DEF is still the best solution, with someone to patch you up between hits.
When I fight her, it's with Widow, Dom, or MMs. I don't even bother using oranges. She'd one-shot me anyway.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

This sums up my first encounter with her with that particular tanker nicely.
Best moment? When Zombie Man said "I'm not touching that thing. Tanker, you can pull. I'll rez you." ... and meant it. Anyone else taken by surprise by her first time tanking? |
That was after I had pulled and alpha absorbed and Dark-Def-Tanked everything else in the TF thus far (I was simply leading). I like to scare Tankers with that line.
Tankers survive longer than Fluffy giving me time to debuff her with -Dam and -ToHit.
Yeah, even Fluffy can't tank her!

Yeah, she made my /rad cry, even with all her -tohit and -dmg debuff. 1 shot and i was in the red.. (it didnt help that shortly afterwards i hit secondary mutation, and turned into a rikti for the rest of the fight.. ran around and just jumped between her and the warwalkers for the duration of the rikti form)
I tanked this with a soft-capped Fire/Fire tanker, and Bobcat didn't seem particularly deadly. The reason? I was at 80% defense from a cold defender and Maneuvers from the team, plus an additional 20% smash/lethal damage resistance from a thermal controller. In addition Bobcat was debuffed by a Dark defender.
Basically, Apex and Tin Mage are not that tough if you have lots of buffs and debuffs. These TFs are designed for tightly-coupled teams. You can't just throw the stone tanker in there and go on auto pilot.
The problem I've seen with the Neuron/Bobcat mission is that some tankers don't keep both Warwalkers taunted, leaving one to attack squishies. The other problem occurs in the first mission. Tanks and scrappers keep running to the next Warwalker while support characters are still being attacked. Outside the range of the debuffs, buffs and heals tankers and scrappers can drop very quickly against level 54 Praetorian clockwork.
Remember the old D&D battle cry: don't split the party!
I tanked her with my Inv/DB tank and did pretty well only because on of the giant warwalkers was also being taunted by me, bobcat sill landed ocassional heavy hits but our healer did a good job patching me up. My tank is softcapped when fighting two opponents but not one, so when my team killed the waralker and left me only tanking bobcat I didn't last very long. 4-5 hits was all I could take.
I asked my team if I could pull one of the mob groups with me along while I tanked her again but they were too worried about being aggroed by them while they focused on bobcat.
Still, I must say that was a very good fight and a worthy end to that TF.
I miss the days when Invuln tankers were the thing

That's pretty much my experience with her. My Axe/Shield Brute got hit for 7500. That is where my interest in that TF died forever.
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

Tanked her on my Inv/SS Tank. She never hit me. Then again, I'm soft-capped. So that's not surprising.

My Dark Armor tank is also softcapped.
Where to now?

My elec/ is the only tank I've taken against her, and she slices him apart like he's a level 1 blaster. Even hover taunting, her range shot wipes me in a couple of hits. I always feel awful about it.
So, I make sure I have purples ready to go and tip the buffers handsomely.
note: never tried it when she wasn't buffed, someone on the team always wants the badge...
I ran Tin Mage Saturday with my EM/Elec Brute and had no worries in the whole task force till we got to her. She one shotted me as I rushed in to grab aggro. I just had to laugh about it though. Silly me forgot how hard she hits and Elec is not the best against lethal.
My WP/SS tanker has no problems with Boobcat, and that's after dealing with Neuron first. It's Neuron's endurance drains that might trip me.
Did this last Saturday with my elec/WP Brute-damned near died right at the start. Grrl hits kind of hard, yup. Quick action by my team-mates saved my bacon (and THANK YOU,FOLKS!! by the way). Seemed like a easier fight once we could all concentrate on her.
I have no pity.
This is the endgame the devs made, because people let them. Expect more of the same.
The Tanker you worked hard making nigh-unkillable, to never have to run from anything, is now slaughtered by cat girls and runs from blue bubble patches. Soon, they'll also be slaughtered by guard towers and run from mass-produced household cleaning appliances.
This is your crowning moment of awesome: being a scratching post for a lazy cat girl or getting stuck down by a Roomba while beating up abused prisoners/mental patients.
It's like my comic book dreams come true...?

I think you didn't do it with her in Vengeance mode.
My Dark Armor tank is also softcapped. |
If so, again, she never touched me. Then again, my team was ridiculously damage-heavy. So it's not like there was a lot of time for her to take swipes at me.
Range tank her. Press taunt and run around in circles if you have so many issues with
