Favorite bits of in-game writing
One very funny one I got from a Wolf Spider in the Fort in Mercy (you had to be low enough to trigger his attack and actually in the fort so it isn't something I trigger often):
Wolf Spider: "Don't you know this is a FORT?!"
That just made me laugh.
I would love it if they could give NPCs a different script when they are grey to players. That opens up all kinds of new comments along the lines of "Don't you have a galaxy to save or something?"

You can't please everyone, so lets concentrate on me.
I really liked the Ghost Widow patron arc writing. No lines in particular, just the whole feel for it. I felt like a jerk at the end. She finally decided to trust me and accept me as someone working with her, not just for her (at least in my interpretation), and to reward her for that I destroy any chance of her recovering her life again.
That and how terrible Westin Phipps is. I intentionally failed his arc with Miss Francine just so she would get away from him.
I put in my new vote for the bank mission at the end of the villains' clone arc. You, a powerful villain infamous for the number of crimes you've committed by this point, manage to break the minds of an entire bank full of patrons, tellers, and security guards by politely requesting a bank transfer.
"Teller: And I might add, we're all very appreciative that you chose not to rob our bank today."
Some of the vigilante>Villain missions has great writing. For instance, the Council Parade one.
"Robots... That BREAKDANCE!"
"They march in a very straight line, kind of reminds me of geese, but in a good way!"
"Men strunt r strunt och snus r snus
om ock i gyllne dosor.
Och rosor i ett sprucket krus
r stndigt alltid rosor."
Lots of great stuff already cited in this fun thread! Let me add one humble bit (that's been in the game a long time) that I love:
Purse-Snatch Victim: "I hope you get cut on the clasp! And I hope it gets infected, too!!"
"And in this moment, I will not run.
It is my place to stand.
We few shall carry hope
Within our bloodied hands."
And another of my favorite pieces of writing, though it may be accidental, is Black Scorpion's answering his phone with "FEAR ME!" I'm going to make that the message on my answering machine, in fact.

I've been around for a few years enjoying the snappy banter of some of our various Villains, Heroes and the men and women on the street. I remember some of the things a lot of you talk about, but there are some I don't remember, and some I have no clue (as some of you gave no reference where to look to find the banter we all so crave to read.) Thanks much to those who gave examples or at least left clues as to where to find the missions that will no doubt make us sit up and take notice.
There is one notable dialog (though one-sided) by a certain villain in Atlas that I stumbled upon, in my hero guise as The Original Hot Ice. One fine brilliant day while super-heroing as my want to do . . . when what should take my notice as I turned a corner of a building? I heard something, but couldn't make out right away what it was. Turning my head I saw, in the shadows of the building, this dude I know I've put in jail at least a hundred times already, and the city always sees fit to put him out on the street again, yet I couldn't remember his name. One of the Hellions.
He had something in his hand, and he was mumbling. He hadn't seen me yet, and instead of attacking as I was very curious as to what had his attention so riveted he couldn't see me breathing, I slowly crept closer, and then I could hear his words, "Finally! Mine . . . all mine! Mine!" And, of course, that's when I saw the purse in his hands, and I knew he had finally gotten his prize, after all this time.
I almost didn't have the heart to beat him to a pulp.

Flambeaux...not because the writing is good, it's just that I really feel bad for her. She is the worst villain ever! I don't mean she is horrible, she just really sucks at being a villain!
I really like Doctor Bokor. I wish they would use him a little more, or bring out more of his voodoo style. I really enjoyed that whole thing.
Some funny, funny stuff in here.
I too, am a Von Grun fan.
But the ones that always make me laugh (I don't quite know why), are the
missions given out by The Radio. Not the missions themselves, mind you,
but the descriptions given by the Radio itself - All my villains have to run
those, and I still laugh that the Radio's "dialogue" every time...
Radio! Radio Free Opportunity!

I've been rich, and I've been poor. Rich is definitely better.

A lot of my favorite arcs have already been covered. But one thing that hasn't that I absolutely love is the Praetorian Achievement badges.
"Surely at some point, you will wake up and think, "Perhaps today I will stop courting certain doom." But obviously not today."
I think one of my favorite quotes is from a clue given at the end of a radio mission. (How often do people read those?)
"It's made of Inobtainum, an alloy of Nosuchium and Yeahritium."

I believe Damz and Ice Wall already referred to my favorite, but mine is the bit where you're escorting a journalist in praetoria while beating up some resistance scum.
You make your way to a PPD cop (who is secretly working for the other side, though you don't know it) and have lots of options of what to say to him, some of which asking for help, and some....less polite options. One that I picked was "How about you go get myself and this gentleman a coffee*" (thus infuriating him).
Then later in the arc, you go undercover to ruin his day, and before you walk up to him and fight him, you talk to him, and you have the option to say "Hey, where's my coffee?*"
This was the first time I've laughed out loud, literally, over in-game dialogue.
*The exact wording escapes me, but that was the general script.
Ghost Widow's version of "Project: DESTINY", warning you that the mission contains an AV.
- I would not be saddened to hear that you were humbled. I suppose that's petty, but at least I'll be honest about it.
Also from Ghost Widow, her version of "Time After Time" midway through after sending you on a mission:
-Oh, Scirocco will no doubt be upset when he hears of the damage you caused, but I can calm him. And besides, if they did not see it coming, they can't be terribly good at seeing the future, now can they?
