Something that made me laugh recently came from an NPC in Galaxy. While not verbatim, I believe it's close.

Hellion: "Alright, you know the drill lady. Give me the purse and no one gets hurt!"
Lady: "You're making poor life choices!"

Really?! There's a guy with a gun stealing your purse and there is a hero nearby to yell to, but I'm sure lecturing the villain about how he lives his life will work just as well...

Thanks for the kind words about the Cyrus Thompson stuff. An awfully nice way to start the day.

What? Yes, I just woke up. Hey, I didn't get to sleep until 5am or so! No, I was NOT drinking! An intervention? Look, you---

I would have to say one of my favorite lines comes from the Diviner Maros arc.

In the last mission two Freakshow are talking together:

Quote:
Before combat:

Freakshow 1: You know,

Freakshow 2: What?

Freakshow 1: this whole 'Cult of the Shaper' thing was fun at first,

Freakshow 2: True.

Freakshow 1: but it's starting to go a little too far.

Freakshow 2: Dude, I was so thinking the exact same thing. Maybe we should go back after this is over?

Combat start:

Freakshow 1: Ah, man! Why do we keep falling into these patterns of self-destructive behavior?
Every time I read that I go into a laughing fit.

"I play characters. I have to have a very strong visual appearance, backstory, name, etc. to get involved with a character, otherwise I simply won't play it very long. I'm not an RPer by any stretch of the imagination, but character concept is very important for me."- Back Alley Brawler
I couldn't agree more.

I should still have my demofile of the cutscene - I'll see if I can get the music for you.

EDIT: Damn it, I keep forgetting that for SOME REASON, demofiles no longer play back with sound. Regardless of how it's launched. Grrrrrrr. Okay, next idea - do the arc via Ouro, and turn the music on when you get to the last mission.

Diviner Maros. An interesting concept and some great lines.
My favorite: "However, we can edit out all of the tedious searching for hideouts and interrogation. I will tell you where to go."

I do not suffer from altitis, I enjoy every character of it.

And yeah, Cyrus Thompson was the man. So was Aaron Walker but Cyrus was there first. Makes me well up every time.
Who is his Praetorian counterpart? What arc / level can I find him?

You can find him in Healix's missions, namely her story arc here:

My all-time favorite dialogue comes from the Carnie Strongmen when they get the dialogue of their female comrades:

At that mission's end, I am confronted by my Mysterious Double, who tries to convince herself that she's the real Amerikatt and tells me (paraphrased) to do "that villainous thing you do!" (and to dispatch her)

And here I was going to come here and say that I love Doc Buzzsaw for the funny and Aaron Walker for the sad, but you all have already done it for me!

City of Heroes has a lot of wonderful writing. It's not all great, but enough of it is that I really enjoy reading mission content.

I always felt this early bit Redside was a winner.

While I do chuckle at the dialogue here (and that of other mad Arachnos scientists), there is something that bugs me about this arc...

I always laugh in the RWZ mission where you rescue Faultline and Fusionette and see this:

Faultline: /t Fusionette Okay, okay. Then howabout you pick the movie tonight?
Faultline: Doh! Sorry, Mis-tell. Let's get back to the mission!

Don't remember the lines exactly but its a rwz arc where one of the rikti slaps another rikti across the face. The cutscene of him doing that alone was funny to me.

The whole of the "Wretched Man" arc I find very well written red-side and (although its infrequent now) I always try to cover it with a new villain.

My level 50 villain reaffirmed his evilness with this arc. So I'm guessing level 50. And yes, its all kinds of messed up, in a very good way.

EDIT: Also, iirc, the mission ends BEFORE it actually ends and you meet all your future selves, so stick around.

Many will disagree because of how often they've had to play the STF, But Aeon's breakdown always makes me lol....

AEON (After telling you about the AVs) "...I can't believe I just told them how to escape like that! Okay, erase this recording and let's start over!"

Goon: "Uh, sir?"

Aeon: "What?"

Goon: "You said, uh... you said you wanted to transmit this, uh... live?"

*beat*

Aeon: "AAAAGHHH!! Shut it off, shut it off!"

Not to mention the Villain respec team in the mission after that:

"I'm blogging about how much you suck right now!"

And I gotta agree with DR, I HATED the end of that arc for making me cry so much >_<
