So I am slowly approaching that time to start slotting some additional Tankers. First one is an Ice/Ice but I have a Willpower/Mace and Elec/Elec quietly approaching 50. As slotting defense is still very effective for survival I have been looking at that for each of these as well. I am sure I should be looking at typed for the Willpower if only because of the typed defense in Heightened Senses but the Elec brings a question that goes beyond just Tankers as well.

I see lots of people pushing typed over positional for most instances. Typed does seem somewhat easier to achieve but it also seems like it requires weaker IOs that cost astronomically more influence. Can someone please explain the benefits to each? I've been at this a long time and this is the first time I'm actually having to look at this for something, all of my other slotted up guys had one or the other before I started (Ice, SR, and guys with Def based APP armors). I figure the Tankers are who to go to for this kind of information and that this will be good if I ever make another set that has no inherent defenses. Thanks for the feedback!

I really liked the Ghost Widow patron arc writing. No lines in particular, just the whole feel for it. I felt like a jerk at the end. She finally decided to trust me and accept me as someone working with her, not just for her (at least in my interpretation), and to reward her for that I destroy any chance of her recovering her life again.

That and how terrible Westin Phipps is. I intentionally failed his arc with Miss Francine just so she would get away from him.

So I've been looking at some new builds to try out (although I will probably wait until Going Rogue comes out just to see the lower levels of that first hand) and I keep coming back to this. I have wanted to make an Elec/Elec Melee-type character since they added them for Brutes. I hate the lack of punch sound on the Brute attacks, so I am going to try this again Hero side. I am torn between a Tanker and a Scrapper however.

I will probably post something similar on the Scrapper boards at some point but I was curious what people think of them. I've heard mixed things about Electric Armor (most seem to agree that Elec Melee is good for both). I'm wondering how much survivability will be an issue. I'm also curious how much the damage difference will be noticeable. I've played several Scrappers and Tankers to 50 now and am slightly leaning towards Tanker for this one too but would like some input from the Tanker community on the pros and cons of Elec/Elec Tankers versus Scrappers.

I'm considering making a Dominator finally after many years of COH/COV play. Leaning somewhere between Earth/Earth and Earth/Fire I had a question for the Dominator community.

Is Hasten really necessary for a Dominator? I have managed to avoid using Hasten in any build since I3, not because of the End Crash but instead because of the ugly glowy hands graphics that I just cannot get past. I know I will not be as powerful without it but is it really going to hamper my effectiveness to the point of frustration? I do not think I have seen a build without it included in my searches. For reference the characters I have gotten to 50 without ever getting Hasten include Scrappers, Tanker, Defender, Controller, Corruptor, and Night Widow.

Ok, so my Elec/Elec/Elec Blaster is about 5 years in the making, continuously shelved and unshelved because I love the concept but have no attention span. I'm trying once again for another go and am up to level 30 now.

I'm filling in some spots in my build now and I have to wonder about Voltaic Sentinal now. Still never used it and I've certainly recall the hatred for this power back in the day. So what is the general feel for it nowadays? I'm mostly going the Blapper route and have searched to see some more recent analysis of Voltaic Sentinal without much success. I'd like to hear some input on this, as it is the one major power I'm really on the fence on. Thanks in advance!
