White Wolf is celebrating the 20th anniversary of Vampire the Masquerade by releasing a new, 400+ page edition of the original 1991 pen and paper RPG. It will incorporate a lot of the supplement material, like the original splatbooks, into the main book. Looks like it will be released this September.

The Vampire: The Masquerade – 20th Anniversary Edition is a 400+ page ultra prestige edition that includes virtually every clan, bloodline and variant ever produced for the Vampire: The Masquerade game setting and will be available to attendees at The Grand Masquerade 20th Anniversary Convention, September 15-18 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
So.... if you can't go to the convention, you're SOL?

I dunno. Maybe that's just where the book will first go on sale? When the New WoD and Vampire the Requiem launched in 2004, it was first available at Gen Con Indy.

There's always ebay, but I do hope that White Wolf does take note that not all their fans can make it to the con and come up with an alternative for those interested in purchasing the 20th anniversay edition

I will be one of those people who will not be able to attend, so I really hope there is another way for me to buy that book.

Damn, hard to believe it's been that long since i bought my copy.
Still have it somewhere, but the binding wasn't exactly the strongest.

Almost tempted to get this just because even though i haven't played the game in years and years.

Yeah, it's been about 14 years or so for me since I first got into White Wolf stuff, though I was more into Werewolf and Mage. Tempted to get this, though.

Oh, make no mistake about it, I was much more into the Werewolf stuff, but the significance of the 20th anniversary is too much to ignore.

Maybe if they hadn't diluted their market with tons of knockoffs of the same system (Bums: The Homelessness, Butchers: The Slaughtering, Politicians: The Bullsh**). Then went and rehashed the system abandoning, essentially rebooting the entire world (Bums: The Bumfights, Butchers: The Prepacked Meat Buying Instead, Politicians: The...oh wait, that never changed...)

In short, then, maybe, I'd be more interested in the system. I haven't played it in nearly 16 years now (Gah! Now I feel old too! DAMMIT!), and I'm STILL burnt out on the notion.

All I know about Vampire is that guys used to the main game who show up to a Vampire: Dark Ages LARP are often startled and fearful when their mincing gothy emo politicking tends to be met with heads being ripped off.

If White Wolf's system hadn't ultimately caused me to loath all RPGs that use dice pools for task resolution, I might be nostalgically interested in this.

Still, as a RPG conossieur of sorts, I have to wonder if this will be a reprint with all the horrible errors and typos of the original intact.

It won't be a simple reprint. They'll be having beta testing of sorts. So they must be making some alterations.

And to be honest, I liked the core game stuff and a lot of the supplemental stuff that came out in the couple of years after ward.

On a bit more on topic, I never really cared for Vampire. But I liked the concepts more in Mage, myself...

Thank you for the time...

What's the Vitae Glamour Quintessence Pathos consumption on that? And does it take Willpower points too?

Agree with both of these. Can't believe it was 19 or 20 years ago I bought a copy of 1st edition as a spotty teenager, at Gaelcon in Dublin (must have been 1991 or 1992 so).

I want this. Especially with the NWoD conversion document out there now so that I can port it over.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Same, though my binding collapsed and I had to put the thing into a binder ages (10-15 years) ago.

Some of the longest and best campaigns of any RPG I ever played were with that original release. Good times.

Gygax grognards unite!!!

in all seriousness ive some fond memories of playing V:tM (and was one of those rare non-emo vamps. gawds, i loved playing Tremere or Ravnos), so if this is available elsewhere, ill most likely be picking up a copy. (Though yeah, i was a bigger Werewolf & Mage fan than Vamp.)
