Who here is proud to NOT have a farm toon?

Do you mean a character explicitly designed to farm, a character who could farm but you never do it, a character who can't farm even if they wanted to or what?

I have characters with strong AoE attacks and defenses who can easily run x8 maps but I never set out to design them for farming. I don't have any particular pride in this fact.

First two.

Oh. Well, since some power sets are designed around having strong AoE damage and since strong AoE damage is usually what farmers look for...

No, I wouldn't feel pride at not playing a power set just because some other people use it for farming. That's just silly.

Yep almost as silly as claiming blueside is a bunch of idiots cause a few folks charge for farms, which the OP did. Epically silly actually.

If you need to feel like a special snowflake because you play the game differently than the way some other people do, go right ahead.

Farming bores me, so I don't do. I don't exactly if others do or not, either. You do what you find fun, I do what I find fun, and everybody's happy.

Yeah...I'm not sure what the point of this thread is.

It seems like a jab at farmers.

And while I have 0 interest in farming for any reason, I can't deny the fact that some people like to do so and the devs don't seem to have an issue with it.

Personally, any time I feel like I want to start farming for anything in this game, I know for fact that its time to logout and take a look at my embarrassingly long long list of Steam games and...Oh! Just Cause 2! Shiny!

In any case, I know a bunch of people who farm in this game and I know a bunch of people who don't. My farming friends know me enough to not ask me to join them on farms and my non-farming friends are the ones I tend to team with more regularly(when I DO team at all).

As well as... you know, the survivability.

This thread is as pointless as "Who's proud not to have an RP toon!" or "Who's proud not to have a character that wears green!" Who cares? I play powersets because I want to play them, or they fit a concept. I don't care if SuperJoeSchmoe uses the same one to farm. I don't keep track of it, either.

I have one that possibly could and a few others that I could 'spec' into it but not really interested in it to be honest.

Farmers to me, originally meant people who were bored with the same story content. But were happy to play the same mission over and over and over. Sorry, does not compute.

But now with AE tickets its a bit different, (gives the 'gold sellers' free reign) IMO.

Personally, I like to team, and make new friends the old fashioned way, more fun that way. On a good team, banter flying - who cares what mob you are taking down.

I'm not really proud of anything I do or don't do in a video game.

Now Mr ?'s avatar - that is something to be proud of.

Never farmed, never will.

I'm proud that I *DO* have a farm toon. I hardly ever farm, because I find it boring, but I wanted to see what it was like and try it. This game has tremendous variety available. I also have concept builds. I have two catgirls. I have purpled toons. I have toons using only SO's.

Farming bores me<----- Agrees with this. I'd rather run mission(S) and get a little different view from time to time than just mindlessly keep circling some city block beating on Demons or whatever. If it make you happy then fine but I have only RARELY visited farms and usually when I was [ ] that close to leveling and couldn't find a team.. I'd grab my next level after one or two passes and be on my way.. AND NO WAY I'D EVER PAY SOMEONE FOR THE PRIVILEDGE.

Why should I be proud for not having a farming character? Farming is a very noble and ancient profession. They deserve our respect for feeding our families.

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

I have rolled a fire/kin, purely due to its notoriety as the farm build, but I'm not planning on farming with her.

What if I feel pride in not knowing what power sets are good farming characters, and thus have no clue if I even have one?

It's just not important enough to me to even think about.

I've never built a toon with farming in mind.

Now, my favorite DB scrap *can* farm reasonably well, and I'll admit that I keep a copy of Harvey's demon mission on him for the purpose of finding common magic bits for crafting when market prices get crazy... But i just don't have the patience to slaughter demons by the thousand in pursuit of purples or anything like that.

None are farm "toons" per se, but i do have alts who solo at x4 or higher when running missions. i don't run the same mission over and over, but i have run some AE arcs at least halfway because i wanted tickets even if i do choose them based on how interesting they are.

i don't see what there is to be proud of one way or the other. Still, if it gives you a little glow of superiority to tell yourself that you never, ever farm go for it. i don't mind. i'll continue doing whatever whim gets my attention at the time and doesn't cause grief for others without worrying about what anyone else thinks or does.

I farm when I got nothing else to do because it's an efficient way to get rewards (I have 5 toons to feed, you know). I also offer to PL my friends and everyone is happy.
