Youve got to think
Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!
Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

To my understanding, a lot of it's limitations come from the fact that they went console/pc, so had to limit lots of things to account for the console players.

The body type issue is primarily because they didn't have time to get in all of what they wanted. Expect that to change.
Lastly, the creator UI is complete crap. Interestingly a much better UI exists the second you get into the game. My only hope is that they eventually allow you to save a specific collection of pieces to a file. Once you can do that, you will in theory have infinite costume slots.
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
There's also their art decision to try and limit the more outrageous costumes that we can make here, so as to keep player outfits matching to the art style of the content.
I'd also heard something about the PS3 having a harder time than a PC when it came to rendering lots of diverse costumes and body shapes, so limiting what players could wear and what shapes they could be would help the PS3 sync with the PC.

Sounds all good, untill you realize MOST of the time, it isn't YOU beating up Recluse's lackeys, Recluse himself, or the big name Heroes.
It's you and a team of others doing it. So it's not so much, "Ha! I'm strong!" as it is "Ha! You can't take us on 8 to 1!" ;p |
My level 50 villain feels uber to me after all he's done on his own.

Its like they designed the UI to look cool in a preview video, not actually be functional. Our character creation interface is simple, flat, boring, and usable. Theirs is noisy, flashy, animated, busy, and more confusing than the flight deck of a 747.
I've been beta testing software for 22 years. I'm not embarrassed to say I was one of those people that couldn't figure out how to quit the game in beta and had to search the forums for the answer, after using task manager to get me out the first time. WTH, UI designer?

In one little corner of the universe, there's nothing more irritating than a misfile...
(Please support the best webcomic about a cosmic universal realignment by impaired angelic interference resulting in identity crisis angst. Or I release the pigmy water thieves.)
The entire starting UI is crap. How many people in beta thought there were less costume options that there were, thought there were less colors than there were, though there were less power options than there were simply because they couldn't locate the scroll bars in the interface. It got better, but only slightly, before launch.

Every time I see this topic bubble up, I hear Aretha Franklin singing, "You've got to think! (Think!) Think about what you're trying to do to me, yeah, think! (Think, think!) Let yourself go, let your mind be free!"
I think it's some kind of song about playing on the Freedom server.
(Yes, I know it's "You'd better think," not "You've got to think." But when I see this topic bubble up, that's not what Aretha is singing.)
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)
I think of "Think" by Information Society.

... NC (or at least our devs) have to smile at Yahtzee's new "other MMO" review. Just for him pointing out, when talking about character creation, that "City of Heroes did it better."
(Now, yes, most of it is his standard trashing of the game, but having the COH reference in there - /thumbsup.) |

By Yahtzee's standards that offhand comparison is quite high praise for CoH.
