Ehhhh....

I mean, it LOOKS kinda cool, but it still doesn't inspire any excitement in me. I'm not a huge stickler on continuity, and a movie is ALWAYS going to have its own seperate continuity.

But it just seems like such a blatant case of plugging in characters for no reason that I can't view it as any more than a jumbled mess. I might see it eventually, but I'm not gonna be in any hurry.

Honestly, I'm kinda just waiting till the rights revert to Marvel and they can start over.

Well, it looks pretty, but that is a baseline assumption at this stage of things. As for the rest, to hell with Fox and their cavalier disregard for character and story canon. They get $0 from me.

yeah so far i dont see enough for me to go. download the torrent yes..movies no thanks.

I didn't even recognize a fair number of the mutants in there at first glance.

Once again I think Fox has gone for too many characters. While Magneto lifting a battleship is always appreciated it's not a substitute for good storytelling. The comics often suffered from Too Many Mutants syndrome as well but at least they weren't trying to cram them into a movie length feature.

Unlike what seems to be the masses, I've been willing to give this an actual chance. For me, I loved it.

Need to take some lessons from Michael Bay to make kick*** trailers, this was meh all the way.

It actually looks better than I expected. Nice and understated. Of course, it's pretty easy to make an appealing trailer. But I do think it's an opportunity to make a slightly more serious, thoughtful X-Men flick. I'll definitely see it, even though I think the chances of it actually being good are pretty slim.

So... is Belasco in the movie, or is that some other Red guy with swords and who can teleport?

Red Guy is most likely to be Azazel, Nightcrawler's father.

Yeah... the movie loses even more points for reminding me of THAT horrible plot.

Hmmm...

The trailer looks good. But so did the others.

Could be better than X-Man 3 though, which could of used some major improvements, but I somehow enjoy none the less (can't help it, I just love seeing Bobby ice up).

i dont see it yet as being a bad movie, but after the last two i just cant get excited enough to want to see this one. however seeing the trailer has upgraded me from "i might watch it when it hits Netflix" to "ill see it if someone else is paying".

The only thing this has going for it is visual appeal and the trailer confirms that. You can tell they're pushing visual effects and sexy girls. The trailer is almost a full two minutes long and yet JFK has the most lines...

I think the acting and dialog is going to make this movie painful. And it's not just Fox, outside of X1, Marvel has a hard time with making good ensemble cast movies that are anything more than gimmicky action flicks. That's my biggest worry about Avengers...but that's another discussion lol.

My 2 cents at least...

Just a screencap of Magneto from the trailer was enough to make me put this on my "Wait till I might catch it on tv someday" list.

The actual trailer just added to that idea.

So... I'm one of the few that actually thought this looked better than I was expecting?

Well that's the thing. (for me anyway)

I don't think it looks bad. The effects looked respectable to good, and the trailer made it look pretty exciting. (though that never guarantees quality) I also liked the use of the blue and yellow outfits.

I've just checked out on the franchise. I can't bring myself to care about the movie whether it be good or bad. Which is vaguely upsetting seeing what a big X-Men fan I am.

It looked 'good enough'....

I never knew who Nightcrawler's dad was....in the 90s cartoon (the main thing that got me into X-Men I guess) they always said Mystique was the mother but I don't remember any episode saying who the father was (in fact I kind of remember an episode where Nightcrawler and Mystique talk about how Mystique is trying to find the father (not for emotional/sentimental reasons I think).

And come to think of it....that episode I'm thinking of, had a normal human being as the father because when Nightcrawler was born he was blue/etc and that's what got Mystique 'uncovered' as a non-regular human being...*shrugs*

Where the comics decided to make him a mutant of extraordinary power and devilish appearance who was banished by angels to a dark dimension that he can leave for short periods of time with his teleportation powers. Using this time to knock up as many women as as he could in the hopes of one day having his descendants open the gate and allow him to return to earth so he could be beaten down by Dr Strange or the Avengers or Fantastic Four or - er - I mean, take over the place.
