Mids' Hero Designer 1.92 - With Alpha Slot!

Call to Justice, the Hero morality power, isn't showing the damage buff when you activate it.

[Edit] And now it's working correctly. I can't seem to recreate what I was seeing.

I want my forum name to not have a zero in it. Grr. :P

Durn it, I was sure I fixed that double-click bug.

Accolade powers are affected in-game by recharge bonuses. My blaster's recharge in about 16 minutes, so that's an oversight on our part.

*Adds the scroll wheel issue to his to-do list.* I changed the system that panel uses to scroll, so I'll have to try to figure out how to fix it. :P

Also, Diellan left a few things out of the notes, which I was able to hack into his post on the Titan forum, but I can't do that here.

Features:

  • (In regards to the drag-and-drop feature) The "Move"/"Shift" method mentioned in the configuration has not yet been implemented.
  • You can now swap two slots' levels by clicking and dragging the slot itself.
Fixes and changes:
  • Recipe Viewer, Temporary Powers, and Accolades windows incorrectly cut off after scrolling a certain distance. They also wouldn't update while dragging the scrollbar.
  • Automatic updater should no longer care when a blank or unusual "Start in" path is used.

Nice one!

This saves me a whole lot of time and mistakes now that I don't have to calculate the recharge value of every power myself. Thanks!

The only thing you left me wanting now is the +DMG in Power Siphon (Kin Melee) and correct scalability of Heat Loss (Cold Domination), and those two are very minor things.

VEATs and HEATs still suffer from the damage bar on the left falling off the bottom of the screen even when it's maximised, due to the extra powers in their lists.

Why does how much from the alpha matter? Personally I just want to see the value and don't care the source.

Because part of the alpha slot ignores ED and enhancements dont, it might be useful to know how much is going to get by and how much isn't? *shrug*

Strange... Do you have a character loaded? If so, can you post the import code of the character that this is happening on?

I can't reproduce the bug. Perhaps you have some unusual setting that's affecting where the window thinks you're clicking.

I was able to load that character and add Incarnate power just fine... Do you want to try doing a clean install (uninstall, then manually wipe the folder)? Maybe there's something screwy with your DB.

In other news, a minor DB update was released to fix some epic powers. Mids will grab it via auto-update.

Nothing major, but I found it interesting that I couldn't save my Brute as a "Hero". Every time I reloaded the build it would revert to the Villain "settings". Not sure if this was occurring before this morning's update.

Yeah, that's a known issue... I didn't add it to the save/export/import functions, so when it loads a character it will load it as the default affiliation. Next version will be upgraded to full Hero/Villain/Vigilante/Rogue options (so as to better handle the specific Temps), and that status will be added to the save.

Uninstalled Mids and deleted the Titan folder, then re-installed...

getting the same error but only with the Cardiac and Musculature selections; Nerve and Spiritual aren't giving me that issue.

[will try with a different toon]; have tried with 3 toons to the same end. Even when I have no character loaded, I get the same issues; the Incarnate abilities in the left column give me an exception error... no issue with the ones on the right.

Mouseovers bring up the correct information up regardless of which I'm skimming.

Will give it one more try.

[still getting the same exception; Windows XP Home SP3]

(I've even tried resetting all Windows Appearance properties to Default)

Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out yet, but I noticed that the bug with the Respec Helper window's scrollbar resetting if you move it has been fixed. Very glad to see this working properly, it'll make respecs even easier.

That must be an accidental result of changing the scrolling system, I guess.

I got new glasses last month and darn they were expensive. My prescription went from 4.25 to 5.5. Not happy about that.

Anyway, the little disclaimer says "Enhancement values from slots only"; I took this to mean "it does not include set bonuses". Wording is not clear about specifically excluding the Alpha Slot enhancement.

I'd rather this was made an option. I want to see the full amount; if I wanted to see the pre-Alpha enhancement, I'd just... unslot the Alpha. I tend to rely on the popup for enhancement data while I have the Info/Effects/Total tab open, and now the ability to see the two things at once is 'broken' for me.

Loving this new release - I'm glad that I can finally stop doing a bunch of scratchpad math every time I wanted to figure out how much an alpha boost was helping. I do have two things to note, though.

First, I'd like to echo the request for a way to easily turn the incarnate boost on and off. One of the things I first wanted to do once I selected the boost was to go through and see how many seconds of recharge I was saving off of various powers. Unfortunately, clicking back and forth through that window to select and deselect the boost to compate numbers for each power really got old fast. I'd personally make it work like the old accolade power did - one click to turn on/off, double click to alter. I understand that this probably coming, I just want to note that there's at least two of us eagerly awaiting it.

Second, I seem to have some sort of weird display bug with my warshade. Specifically, the power icons have all become significantly smaller, unless I drag the window size narrow enough that they start to go off the edge. At that point they snap back to regular size and start scaling down to fit as usual, however the inherents are then cut off at the bottom even if there's more than enough room for them.

Pictures:
Everything has become small
Inherents cut off

I run windows 7 with a screen resolution of 1920x1080, if it makes a difference.

Um... Domination, Scourge, Vigilance don't appear to be functioning. Vigilance has never worked, but now Domination isn't showing any improvement to control durations, and Scourge and Containment give no bonus damage.

Power bars are turning green on the bottom half, where the slots are located, when flipping to the alternate set of enhancements.

The last value listed for an enhancement in the Info window has a -2 following it, but it's only on IO set enhancements, not commons, HOs or SOs. Occurring with single attribute IO set enhancements, duals, triples and quads.

It looks exactly like this-

Accuracy enhancement (Sched. A: 21.75%)
ToHit enhancement (Sched. B: 13.06%)-2

There's a discrepancy between in-game Flight speed and the value given by Mids'. It looks like the base is wrong (19.1 mph). I've checked two of my characters, a level 37 corruptor and a level 43 blaster, both show 21.48 mph base in the game.

Burn for scrappers and blasters needs to be set as a click buff in the DB (as it is for tanks and brutes). This one's been around for a while, like the Lightning Rod/Fiery Embrace bug and Hasten and Domination's animation times, just didn't remember it until I was looking at my Elec/Fire build.

Dragging powers is doing something very abnormal with the CPU and/or DWM (Desktop Window Manager). Dragging powers causes DWM's CPU usage to skyrocket. A video app (Dscalar) running in the background shows considerable frame loss, and the corresponding CPU usage for that app drops as DWM's usage increases. Something isn't playing nice here, and it's especially troubling considering that the graphical representation of a dragged power is just a boxy outline. Vista x64 SP2, E7300 Core 2 Duo (2.7Ghz), 4GB 800Mhz DDR2 in single-channel mode (motherboard limitation) and a GeForce 250 GTS, if you needed that information.

Export the build here so they may check? (I know they have a forum at the cohtitan website, but they're also obviously following this thread.)
