Most Interesting Characters?
Guy Gardner.
Of all the main character Green Lanterns, he's the one that's stirring up the pot the most. He says all the things the rest of them wish they could say, and still gets respect from the Guardians at the end.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
Spider-Man. For me, he's the ultimate superheroic creation. Smart but insecure, heroic but unloved, funny and can walk on walls.

The part where Kyle told the Guardians what's what at the end of the Blackest Night portion of Green Lantern Corps was almost worth buying the trade by itself.

Maybe Tobey Maguire simply sucks at Spideys trademark fast talking.
Hmm, characters that make stories more interesting...
Deadpool and Lobo... nothingĀ“s better than unpredictable wildcards, prone to unecessary violence and with a crude sense of humor.

ANARCHY = A Society that does not need government
114. Ahrouns do not appreciate my particular brand of humour, so I should stop bleaching bulls-eyes in their fur.
Spider-Man. Deadpool. Gambit. Jubilee. Basically those who throw out oneliners and wisecracks. Have a sense of humor.
Obviosuly Spider-Man is the best at it.
BrandX Future Staff Fighter
The BrandX Collection
Batman for sure.
I also love the different versions of 'The Crow' comics and how everyone who is brought back to avenge their loved ones has a different take and feel on the mythos of the story.
Rorschach is another favorite. I am the complete opposite spectrum of his political, religious and social views, but he just appeals to me. '
So does Marv from 'Sin City.'
for me its more about motivations. i tend to like characters with relatively basic moral codes that go through incredible hardships but retain a rock-hard moral center though it all. from what i have seen the "iron woobie" (no, i'm not going to link to it, you're welcome) is my favorite type. it is kind of a personal thing, as well as a strong component of my coh characters.
the comic empowered hits this one hard, particularly in the issue where she is captured, but while idlely using her powers, discovered that her captor had a sudden and severe but undetected health issue, and basically went through significant effort to help a nobody despite being insulted, disrespected and humiliated all the way, that basically got me in love with the character, batman wouldn't do that, wolvie probably would have just killed him with no regard, supes might if he could spare a moment to care, that was a actual hero to me. also love nightcrawler, a ugly outsider who still finds joy and blessings in life, not a heavy hitter, but less beaten down by life than a lot of the big hitter.
It was Gargoyle for me... back in his days with the Defenders... great, undeveloped character before they mangled him in comic-foolery.
that actually began my slide out of comics...
Depends for me....with the tie-in to mythology and the fantasy world I find Thor an interesting character when handled right....JMS and Gillen knew how to do this in the current run but Fraction has no idea at this point...
I also like a wild card character like Jean-Paul Valley as Azrael...the confusion in his mind with The Order Of St. Dumas and "The System"...the way he battles to stay in control and do the right thing or fall completely into the abyss...I loved the character as he was something different...
If I am in a mood to just be mindlessly entertained I will gravitate towards Deadpool...yes there is action and sometimes a story but I do like the randomness of where the story could go with him...
"A great love is alot like a good memory. When it's there and you know it's there, but it's just out of your reach. It can be all that you think about. You can focus on it and try to force it but the more you do, the more you seem to push it away. But if you're patient and hold still...maybe...just maybe...it will come to you. I just need to be somewhere she can find me" - Church from Red vs Blue
Multiple Man. Randomly.
Spidey, Hulk, Deadpool

I think Joker is very interesting, in the fact that he is the only villain to my knowledge (I don't read comics, I do watch all the justice leagues and cartoons and movies) that can really really make Batman mad, I don't mean the mad that he gets beats up on the guy then brushes off the feeling. I mean really gets under Batman's skin. He is the only villain that I am aware of that constintly makes Batman toe the "I won't kill you" rule.

Because it's physically impossible to cram the amount of inter-combat dialogue Spider Man usually has into an actual moving fight scene. He can chatter like crazy when it's still images surrounded by word bubbles, but as soon as you start to time it to match filmed action, it becomes even less believable than his overt superhuman properties. Note that the cartoons mostly dealt with this by having him briefly cling to things to deliver a line while his opponents were too good of sports to take a cheap shot.

Although not quippy, the boxing scene in Sherlock Holmes is a sterling example of thinking outside the box for an action sequence. it just takes someone to think about Spidey in that fashion and take the fight scenes outside of the normal comfort zone. Chuck often does an excellent job of this.

I think you have Guy confused with Kyle. Especially about the respect part.
The part where Kyle told the Guardians what's what at the end of the Blackest Night portion of Green Lantern Corps was almost worth buying the trade by itself. |
Kyle's pretty good too, but he's still got much to learn from Guy.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
Spawn. He goes through so much to get back to Wanda, and when you find out what he did, it's a shocking, powerful event.
Batman, of course. The Long Halloween is great. I'm glad that the recent movies have made him even more popular.
Deadpool. Especially the story lines where you think he's just his usual random self, but you learn that he had a crazy plan in motion. He makes stories more interesting, for sure.
Elric of Melnibone, I think he counts because he did have some comics, but of course the real stories are Moorcocks incredible books.
Same for Harry Dresden. He's been in comics too, but Butcher's books are fantastic.
I like heroes with a darker side. Superman, Captain America, etc never had enough depth IMHO.
Ideally, the tank will die precisely as everyone else starts fighting, allowing aggro to be spread evenly among the blaster. -seebs, "How to Suck at CoH/CoV" Guide
Batman, Ironman, Manhunter ( Kate Spencer, not the Martian Manhunter), Thor, Hitman, Resurrection Man, Ferro Lad, and uhmm, that's it for now... mostly DC characters as you can see.

There's probably a krunkload of others that i completely dig, it's just that others tend to vary in how interesting the character is depending on the arc, the folks above tend to be consistently interesting, at least to me.
My most interesting character by far is the Martian Manhunter. I don't think he gets the respect or storylines he deserves. Also Colossus, Lobo, and the Machine Man from the mid-eighties. (You know, when he fought Arno Stark, the Iron Man of 2020). And, of course, Ambush Bug!!!
Some of my current favorite comics characters are not from Marvel or DC titles.
From "Irredeemable" (BOOM! Studios):
The Plutonian
Modeus
Kaidan
Survivor
Qubit
From "Incorruptible" (BOOM! Studios)
Max Damage
Jailbait (Max's "original" sidekick)
Headcase (Max's current sidekick)
From "Invincible" (Image Comics)
Invincible
Omni Man
Levy Angstrom
Allen the Alien
The Immortal
Atom Eve
Dupli Kate (and her brother, Multi Paul)
I do have favorites from Marvel and DC too:
Batman
Iron Man
Red Robin
Finesse, Veil and Mettle (from Avengers Academy)
Dr. Doom
What characters do you find to be the most interesting? More specifically, are there any characters that you find make stories more interesting simply due to their involvement?
For me, it's usually unpredictable or unstoppable anti-heroes or villains, such as:
- Juggernaut
- Saint of Killers
- Deathstroke
- Black Adam
- Lady Shiva
And more . . .- CaptainFoamerang
