I take back what I said.
If we didn't know better, it might almost seem like the devs knew what they were doing.

Don't be worried over a game...ever.
Im now in the middle of this to be honest. Im loving the fact that im now level 51 but i also feel like normal missions are now . . . . well too easy. Need my level 51 enemies and challenges to face now otherwise i'll be forced to up the difficulty meter as intended!

The STF/LRSF aren't tasks that I would have trouble overcoming. In fact, after some banter with my buddies who've done them quite rapidly I may be able to crank out what is essentially a "speed run" tonight.

That's worth a POTUS thumbs up!
The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
I agree with Sam.
I'm more excited about the upcoming Animal Pack than the rest of the Alpha past uncommons.
Pleasantly waiting for I20 and more importantly the Judgement Slot.
EDIT: Also concerned about how fast this was pushed from test to live with all the crashing that's been listed in that other thread.
Blazara Aura LVL 50 Fire/Psi Dom (with 125% recharge)
Flameboxer Aura LVL 50 SS/Fire Brute
Ice 'Em Aura LVL 50 Ice Tank
Darq Widow Fortune LVL 50 Fortunata (200% rech/Night Widow 192.5% rech)--thanks issue 19!

I agree that Sam feels strongly about what Sam said.
On the other hand, I got into a speed STF and knocked it out lickity-split and got my Rare in no time (even with two mission crashes). Onwards and upwards!
i had a stalker on my stf that went 59 minutes start to finish...ill take a stalker over a scrapper anyday.
The WST definitely made forming a team to run the LRSF much easier. Actually completing said SF.. well, my luck sucks. This was my third attempt and it ended in failure, with all the cursing, name calling and unpleasantness I've come to expect (and learned to avoid) when running said tasks.
Some people in my SG have promised a decent run tomorrow, which I'm hoping for. Otherwise, I'm waiting for next week's ITF that isn't nearly so immune to idiocy.
Hmmm....
A friend of mine, who also has very limited time, and spent it all trying to get a RSF started on a certain low-pop server, miiiiiiigggghht disagree with ya.... just a little bit.

To avoid rekindling a flame war, I will only say this - having more people available to do it does nothing to change the fact that I don't want to run the STF.
I'll stick to rerolling my 50s and waiting for the Animal booster pack and subsequently the Vanguard Booster pack, and I'll see about rolling a few more new characters while I still have room on Pinnacle and Victory. That, or actually run some of the level 1s I made and never levelled up. And failing that, play some of the characters I abandoned in the 30s two years ago. I'm done complaining, and will instead be putting my money where my mouth is.

Maybe you could both team up then? Find 6 more people who think the same way, and run the STF
|
But a purple recipe dropped and I sold it for 450 mil
So now I can really afford to twink out my lowbie animal toons when that pack hits!
There is no such thing as an "innocent bystander"
It kind of reminds me of the old story of the man who got rich by buying an apple, polishing it and selling it for twice the price. With that money, he bought two apples, polished them and sold them for double price. With that money, he bought four apples and his uncle died and left him his entire estate and many million dollars.

I'm with Damz in that I feel the challenge from many of the task forces we've come to know and love will be minimized - and in fairness, the Devs do have form when it comes to dumbing the game down.
I guess the alternative is to either up the difficulty or have some toons that ain't never gonna be incarnates.
OR... ask the Devs to give us an option when forming a TF. The normal version or "the Incarnate Version" so that we can choose our difficulty level when running it.
Thelonious Monk
I dunno about dumbing things down. As you said, we already have the tools to make enemies harder. I think we're all grown up enough that we can set TFs to +1, +2 or even +4 and not need the devs to hold our hands for that.
I understand why this is a concern. I just don't see why we need the option to put a TF to +4 when we already have the option to put a TF to +4, you know?

Because +4 for a level 50 has now become a +3 for incarnates basically.
Im personally hoping that the crash issues are solved tonight because there are a few "tests" i wish to test out before friday.

The past week has seen me furiously posting about how the WST is going to knock out any chance for people like me (who have very little time to dedicate to TF's/SF's) to get my upper tier Alpha's.
Now, with the first two WST's announced (for those who haven't seen next week's, go to the I19 announcement/overview pages ) I'm going to take back the things I said and admit I was overreacting.
The STF/LRSF aren't tasks that I would have trouble overcoming. In fact, after some banter with my buddies who've done them quite rapidly I may be able to crank out what is essentially a "speed run" tonight.
Since next week's WST is the Imperious Task Force, a TF I can complete in an hour with just myself and three other friends (Dark/Dark Brute, Ill/Kin Troller, AR/Traps Corr, Plant/Emp Troller), I'm no longer worried about taking the first steps toward my sweet, sweet [Cardiac Core Paragon].
So, I'm Nalrok Ath'Zim, and I overreacted.
Thanks, Devs, for the kickass system.
