Rare recipes for the Alpha Slot Rare powers are added using the existing Alpha Component Pool and a new Rare Alpha Component called "Notice of the Well" - which can be acquired as part of the Weekly Strike Target reward for a character who has unlocked their Alpha Slot. |
Question about "Notice of the Well"
Only from the weekly strike target.
Where is this bit of info? I can't find the patch notes.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
Note : there is some more (presumably team-only) content which will award a notice in i20, but until then yes, this is the only way.

I'm going to be honest, the fact that it requires a team is not the biggest problem I have with all of it. What I really do not like is that I've found the only way to get anything is to grind, grind, grind on that grind mill. Want a particular badge? Grind a specific mission till it makes you puke. Want a new power? see the above.

Welcome to the world of MMOs Hube02. Personally, I refuse to do very much of anything that I would describe as a "grind", and when the whole game starts seeming "grindy", I know it's time to take a break for awhile. Life's too short to do unfun things for entertainment purposes.
That being said, if there are aspects of the game you enjoy, you should focus on doing those things and ignore the "grind". The stuff you don't like isn't going anywhere, and you can always go back to it later if you decide that you can stand it.
Sorry for the unasked for advice.
I do try to focus on the things I like and finding new things to do.
But, like everyone, I'd still like to have the new abilities. The problem is that they have now designed grinding into the game on purpose, or at least that's the way it appears to me. I have not really been around that long in the grand scheme of the game, but if grinding is going to become the way of life if you want to progress...
I guess for now I'm off to find an STF, or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 :P
Hmmm... did someone say Eden Trial? I haven't done one of those yet. How about Virtue, in the morning, say about 10 am or so eastern time.
I think it only takes one, per character. Not really grindy at all.

Not that I'm aware of. Statesman/Lord Recluse this week, Imperious next.

That's going to be a bit more difficult, I'd think. How about like 6pm - 2 am eastern time? Or weekends?
I've read that, and from what I gather it will not be "solo-able", while you could do it "Solo" meaning not on a team, it will require a group, kinda like... sure, you can do a Mother Ship Raid without being on a team (solo), but not solo-able by a long shot. And this will take even longer so you'll need to do even more grinding than if you did the task forces and strike forces.

You only get one Notice of the Well a week.

Since when is doing a 30minute - 2 hour TF, once a week, a grind? o.O

Have they said how long the "WTF" system will be in place? I'm hoping it won't be removed after i20 becomes the source of the well, since these badges will take a longggg time.
However I'm glad they added the badges and understand the purpose (With them in place you won't catch anyone who cares about badges in a globalchannel respond to a request to start a WTF with "sorry I already ran it this week" )

*Once a week, per Alpha Unlocked 50 you have that you want to progress past tier 2 on .

Unless you decide you absolutely must have more than one Very Rare boost, then there is no need for more than 4 Notice of the Well per character. In under a month, you can have one character alpha-ed out and move on to the next one. Now, if you're after the gold helpful badge, that'll take a little longer, but... it's the gold badge. It's not supposed to be easy, and you'll have to decide whether the shininess is worth the time and effort. If it is, good luck to you. If it isn't, then I really don't see the problem - 4 task forces isn't all that onerous, and I barely ever do them myself. You can even get components from the WTF if it's one of the "end-game" ones.

Whatever, It was supposed to be a simple questions. I'm out
I don't really see it as "grinding".
It's basically one more reward for something that a lot of people will do anyway.
It's not like we need to collect 50 wolf pelts in an area where a single wolf spawns once an hour, and only 10% of them even have pelts to collect. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that there's 40 other people ALSO collecting 50 wolf pelts in the same area. That would be a grind, this is remarkably easy, it's just time consuming. But this is the "end game" content, if it weren't time consuming, people would be right back to whining about there being nothing to do in 6 months.

the first WST that i ran, i got 25 bonus merits, the notice of the well, plus the reward table options, of which i chose the incarnate salvage.
second one i ran on that character, i can't remember if i got the bonus again, but i was able to pick up an additional 25 merits from the reward table.

Now, can anyone tell me if the WST rewards are time based ? IE its 7 days until you can get the rewards again? or is it once per WST ? IE I could do a WST on Monday, then get the rewards again on Tuesday ?
CHAMPION!
My question is if my SG starts the LGTF on the 8th then finishes it on the 15th when it is the strike target... will we get the extra award?
The way we play to kill-all/most and only having 1.5 hours/week, I expect it will take us 2 weeks to finish the LGTF... which would be perfect if it is the week you end and not the week you do the whole thing.
Guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks. hmmm... I wonder if I could ask a GM in-game, I may try.

not on a badger....once per week to get the component and once per week for credit for the badge (or more if you like) since you don't get credit towards the badge, since you don't get badge credit unless you've already done it for the week, that is what the badge is about, just saying.

Next week was never the ITF ... the overview page uses a what if example for rewards.

I'm at work right now and can't log in to check for myself. Can anyone tell me if this component can be crafted? Or is the only way to get this component to get it as a reward for the Weekly Strike Target?
|
Presently yeah .. the only way to get the notice is by doing the Weekly Strike Force which is the STF or LRSF this week and supposedly the ITF next week. They nhave hinted that when issue 20 arrives there may be other ways to obtain. ot craft, it but the Task Force is the only option for now.

Is anyone else put off by the idea of using the Sister Psyche TF (lvl 25-30, and too low for Incarnate abilites) as a way to get a Notice of the Well Component (only used by Incarnate tier 3 and 4 recipes)?
