Tips for getting Incarnate Salvage

Antigonus

Hey all, I recently got some free time and am interested in collecting Incarnate Salvage. What tips can people give me on hunting it? Is it better to go Solo or Team? If I can't get a team, where can I go?

Thanks!

The bigger the team the better the drops of shards

I'd suggest late game TFs like Lady Grey and the ITF.

If solo, I have been running the Lady Winter mission, Borea repeatables, or Shadow Shard ones.

I got like 57 shards on the Praetorian TF the other day. Try that

Problem with the LGTF is that most teams I hear about are stealthing the missions.

Can't get shards that way.

For actual components, and not just shards, run level 50 TFs. Each TF gives a particular type of component, with some duplication across TF/SF "mirrors" (like the STF and RSF). The exceptions so far are the new Incarnate-only TFs, which grant merits + shards with no choice for a component.

For shard drops, you want to team if you can, because teams tend to get more total kills per time than a solo character, and unlike invention salvage, every mob has a chance to give every person on the team a shard, so you're not losing shards to teammates.

If you're soloing, make sure you fight level 50 or higher mobs, and have bosses enabled. Bosses have the highest chance to drop a shard, then LTs, then minions.

That's not normal, and seems a bit hard to believe. I run these TFs all the time, and they have a lot of "kill all" in them, and I've never even gotten more than 10 out of them including the fact that you get two at the end no matter what.

The best thing I know of per kill is Mitos at a Hamidon raid. (Not the LGTF version.)

That said I have run a Tin mage and only gotten the 2 shards from the reward. And we were doing a kill all.

The most I've ever heard of was 17 from the Tank on one ITF I was on - I got 3 on the same run - but then I got 11 on the next run

If you can team I'd advise Rikti ship raids.

In two runs I had more than enough to craft my first and second Incarnate, also I was on an AOE heavy build.

for solo, I hate to say this here, I farm.

When I have the time, teaming on ship raids is way faster and alot more fun.

Thats how I do it, I don't usually have the free time for TF's anymore.

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

Sorry, I meant the TF in Praetoria, not the Tin Mage or Apex.

In between running TFs, if your going to solo, make sure you enable bosses, and run at 0/5 or higher. That way a boss in spawned in each group. Bosses have a much higher drop rate then minions to (i think its like 1:30 for bosses, and 1:1000 for minions) So in between TFs, while your running your tips, or just normal missions, be sure you have bosses enabled.

Sorry guys, I've been sick and stuck in the house the last couple days so maybe my sense of humor is more off than usual.

I thought by saying I got 57 on a praetoria TF, which doesn't exist and if it did all praetorian content at the moment is between levels 1-20 so shards aren't possible, that it would be obvious I was kidding. I probably could have made that more obvious, said the TF in Praetoria or something, but who knows. I'm tired and sick. sorry all.

No worries. That did occur to me, but the delivery was too dry. You know, text format and all...

I'd say that the ITF is the best task force for shards. The final Shard tally varies for me from one to another but I have gotten as many as 12 or 13 shards on a single ITF and don't recall ever finishing with less than 7 or 8.. plus you gain the Ancient Nictus Fragment so with that one Task Force you can potentially enhance your Alpha Slot (depending on which of the four choices you go with and IF the Nictus Fragment helps fulfill 1 of the requirements).

After that I'd say the Lady Grey is next best followed closely by the Statesman TF. The Kahn TF has shard potential but it always seems like every one of those I have been on turned into a speed run just to get to the end and grab the component. So I rate it last LOL

Now recently I have been doing some of the Shard TFs with my badger .. Sara Moore wasn't bad I pulled in six shards on it (about the same average as a LGTF or STF) and I just did Faathima TF tonight and picked up 8 shards there. The big difference is those both took a good deal more time (close to 3 hours for Sara and a little over 3 for Faathima). Also they don't award and component at the end but do award merits as always. Faathima even has some missions involving the Rikti and I picked up some Vanguard Merits there .. Which of course can be used to purchase the Gr'al Matter component from the crafting tables in the RWZ. Oh and I'd skip the Justine Augustine TF.. way too many Defeat 50 on this Bastion and you wind up fighting villains that are level 44-47 which gives up almost NO Influence at all and OF COURSE since they are not 50 levels .. no shard drops at all nduring those missions. So you end up doing 6 missions that have absoluetly no chance for a shard drop and only 5 that do. Of course Justin was the only one of the three that was fast.. we finished in a little under 90 minutes.

Don't forget the Hami Raids (Red and Blue) side now award 4 shards for completion and you can generally pick up a few as you battle the GMs, Mitos and Hami himself... Last time I did one blue side I left with 7 shards total. And of course Rikti Mothership raids are a good source for shards AND give out a pile of Vanguard Merits yo can use yo but that same Gr'al Matter component I mentioned earlier.

Let's see I have gotten shards during Rikti Invasions, Zombie Invasions, and while I haven't been involved in one personally I have heard that even Banner Events offer up shards. I've gotten them solo even doing Tip Missions and/or Radio/newspaper missions. Basically if you are a 50 level and your Alpha slot is unlocked ANY mission you do that is set to 50 level has the potential to drop shards.

Personally my highest amount shard gotten in a TF was 13 in a 'cuda SF, but that's mostly thanks to the ambush that never ends in the final mission.

Heh, I just form my own LGTFs and tell the team up-front that we won't stealth it or keep the stealth to a minimum. I hadn't had any complaints about it taking too long that way.

'course, unfortunately for Infernia, she is not necessary for completing the third mission, so she gets to firmly attach her face to the floor just for good measure.

Make sure you unlock your alpha slot before beginning or it will all be for naught! (You probably know that--but it would suck to put in the time, commit to a tf and then find out midway through!)

Once you've unlocked, identify which of the four first tier alpha slot enhancements you'd like to craft and look at its recipe.

You will need to do either an LGTF, ITF or STF/LRSF to get the components and remember that components = 4 shards. So that is one guaranteed haul. If you are able to squeeze in two requisite TF's, you will most certainly get the last four shards to craft whatever else you need to make your first enhancement. A task that can easily be accomplished in half a day if you have the day off and want to commit the time.

Got five over the whole thing while people were getting rare salvage and shards out the wazoo. Guy on the one I ran the night before to get my Crab to 50 got 12.

I think it's a curse

I mostly solo due to my work schedule. It took me until last week to get enough shards to finally slot my Alpha. Now working on the 2nd tier, which I hope to be able to do by summer.
