What Are You Doing With Your Extra Shards

Working on my 8th uncommon boost now...

Then I'm going to save them up so I can rush in to the rare/ultra-rare boosts and/or whatever other incarnate stuff is in the future

Saving them. No point in crafting things I don't need.

Still have yet to get my uncommon, so I'll be spending them on that first. (Claws/Regen, Spirtual Boost is a no-brainer)

Oddly, my brute gets them more frequently than my scrapper main, and I still have no idea what he's getting first.

I've got 6 characters I identified as my "core" Incarnates, with another 2 "flying standby," in the sense that I'd like to get them going if the rest are up to speed.

The tally so far is 3 of those 6 with 1 Common boost each, and the standbys are most definitely standing by.

Gonna be a while before "extra shards" enters my vocabulary...

I'm building a working, full sized replica of the Robot from "Lost in Space" with all my excess shards.

So what if it is all in my head? It's gonna look SPECTACULAR!

And what an awesome robot it is: http://www.lostintoys.com/museum/featrob.html

I figure it will take about 15,000 shards.

I'm saving them up. Figure a million shards or so ought to give me Limitless Radial Freeeem.

Saving them for the rares. While I have been following the site for the rares, I'm building up the shards and a second uncommon for the ultra level (which going by the site needs any two rares to make). No doubt they will need ever-increasing values for their creation too. If an uncommon component needs one regular component plus 8 shards to make, what will the rare components need? Maybe they'll need eight as well plus an uncommon to make which means a common plus another eight or maybe they'll need 12 or 16 for the increasing level of value, especially with the level-shift element?

I guess you haven't made any sacrifices to the Random Number God. Ever since I offered a burnt sacrifice to RNG shards have been raining down from Heaven.

I'm using them to prop up that short leg on the dining room table.

I used to fiddle with my back feet music for a black onyx. My entire room absorbed every echo. The music was . . . thud like. The music was . . . thud like. I usually played such things as rough-neck and thug. Opaque melodies that would bug most people. Music from the other side of the fence.

I'm making all the variants so that when the next opportunity presents itself to craft I will be able to start building on all options, depending on what they offer me

I've only just gotten my uncommon alpha yesterday [spiritual heal/rech]. I plan on eventually getting every single one of the powers so i can just switch between them.
My main is the only character that will do this however, since it is supposed to be my strongest and leader of all my alts, it should have the strongest abilities known.

Another good thing about it being an ill/rad . . . . . . all the slots seem to work great for it

Guess start stockpiling them for when the next issue opens up the missing tiers they held back until i20, or to craft the first two tiers of the AOE incarnate power.

While I agree that incarnate drops should be a different colour blue is already used for enhancement drops (although it is understandable why the blue messages are completely ignored)

Hanging onto them. I've been running tips nightly on my incarnate Dom, picking up LotGs to sell toward getting myself another two purple sets. Doing this has gotten me about 25 shards so far, which I figure will be a pretty decent step toward whatever comes next. Probably won't buy the new incarnate enhancements alone, but it might let me buy my way out of a few TFs I'd rather not do.

This. IMO it is by far the smart approach.

Not sure why the words don't go together. Getting shards is proving relatively easy.

O RLY?

Then why don't you pass on your secrets to those of us who can only play a few minutes a night, and must eschew most TFs.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. Sorry, I did not mean to come off as snarky. I understand that some players have limits... but the standard system is working well for me averaging about 1 hr a day during the week, and whatever I can get in on the weekend.

The new TFs are fast - hourish - and drop during, and reward shards and merits both at the end. A kill for shards ITF or LGTF are both still relatively fast. I've also had then drop pretty consistently on my tougher characters running at x6, x7, x8 solo.

Without feeling like I'm grinding, I've got 7 50s unlocked, 4-5 50s slotted, and two to uncommon.

I was asked to join a LGTF last night. It took nearly three hours and had 78 defeats.

Now that was with a PuG, so there is a huge unknown element of risk. The other day I was invited by some really good folks who I know in advance to the Reichsman TF. It took about an hour and I managed to get, not only enough shards to craft my common boost, but my first Master badge ever.

It was awesome.

It's just that with a limited window of play, there are a lot more LGTF-esque experiences and a lot less Reichsman-esque experiences. I don't get to pick and choose if I want to get some shards/components. In retrospect, after the second hour of the "Speed LGTF," I should have just quit and gotten some sleep.
