If you could make a new zone, what would it be?

Shadow Shard and Oroborous revamped to become co-op zones, with Shadow Shard having an optional PvP option when you enter it, so you can actually have Hero vs Villain fights, if you want to.

Little pop-up that says "want to enable to PvP for this zone"

That's it.

Those who don't want to PvP, can click no, and use the zone as strictly PvE zone, never being touched by another player.

But this would also mean it wouldn't have the usual PvP Zone DR in it

Then a revamp of the Shadow Shard TFs to make them more enjoyable to the masses, and go to town!

I just gotta ask: why do people want the Shadow Shard as a co-op zone when there are unexplored regions of it that could be given exclusively to villains? I do like co-op, but I also want to see the lore of the vast shadow shard expanded on, especially the garden of memories now that we have doppelganger tech.
As a side note: who'd like to see an old (incomplete) write-up I made for a Japan zone(s)?

My reasoning...

There is only one shadow shard dimension. It's not like Earth with different timelines/dimensions. The Shadowshard is one linear line.

With that in mind, how would heroes keep villains out of certain sections of it and vice versa?

Next, I want a way to get any villain I make, to beable to get access to the Shadow Shard at level 1 (or 2) and get the weapon skin!

Getting that much villain-exclusive content at once would be quite a rare circumstance.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

But it's also quite vast. At least such can be inferred from the fact that the Storm Palace region looks so wildly different from the rest, and the fact that most of the zone connectors are portals.

It's not such a far cry to imagine the place would be big enough for heroes and villains to have well established bases there any never even see eachother from a mile away.
Besides *Spoiler* no one ever found Nemesis' base in the Shadow shard until the Dark Watcher arc.

True. However, I wouldn't say either side has the resources to keep the other out of that section of the Shadow Shard either, because it is so vast.

Well, if they're super far apart, it could just be that it doesn't really matter. Judging by Technician Naylor's missions, there's a good bit of effort to getting places with a portal, so it could just be that the two factions are in vastly separated sections of the Shard with no easy way to get to each other.

Could be. Still prefere the idea of seeing it being a PvE zone with a PvP click option.

And I could go either way on it. Though making it co-op does give the advantage of not needing new maps.

Let's see....Planetary Zones...forget about the moon...Mars would be way cooler. (( heck even planets in other star systems would be sweet ))
A zone based on the Greek/Roman, after all...are they not the MAJOR god's in CoHverse ?
Atlantis, Atlantis, Atlantis...tied in to the Greek zone ..tied in to a water zone O.o.
FINE...a Moon base ....gaaawd.
Egyptian....uhm...Egyptian something...or maybe persian, flying rugs and genie in the bottle backup as temp powers yey.
Spaceport, i dunno.
Arctic zone.....ice slide bonanza !
Some sort of Sky zone....not sure what...but yeah.
Castle's....German,Swedish,British styles...in some sort of zone...maybe a midevil zone O.o,the possibilities of unlockable costumes in all these places makes me drool.
Groom Lake...hush hush military installation in the desert that everyone knows about. Kheldian home world....if there is one, i would LOVE to see what that would look like.

Oh well...that's some of the stuff i would pay to see .

Cast me in with the "normal neighborhoods" crowd. Right now all of the zones on blue side look like what an alien with no concept of human civilization would draw if you gave him a bullet point list of what a city is.

Zones in CoX don't look like places where people actually live.

I would love an Asian Town of sorts. Something that combines a lot of different Asian cultures placed into a mixed modern city setting with traditional themes. Some parts would have high-rises, while others would be a busy atmospheric section with stores and smaller streets. Maybe they'll even be a temple or a school nearby.

We could probably put a trainer or TF contact from one of the characters in WISDOM that hasn't been used yet (Sparkblade perhaps?). Maybe we can have a dangerous part of town where ninjas suddenly appear and attack players (or that could be the zone event).

So... yes, Asian Town. Would really love one.

1. Ancient Egypt
2. Space zone (moon zone or spaceship) or Rikti homeword
3. Old West

I am actually against revamping old zones, as I would love to see new environments that don't look like a modern american city. Paragon and Praetoria are more than enough! . A bit of variety wouldn't hurt.

Also, revamping the Shadow Shard was a cool idea three years ago. Time to move on, guys!

1. Mountains. With hidden caves, ancient ruins/monasteries, hightech super-organization bases (example) and so on.

2. Shadow shard improvement (not revamp as such, only adds stuff). Add a villain base in one of the zones. The previously mentioned Arachnos carrier/spaceship would be great. And add story contacts of 'hero', 'villain' and 'both' varieties. Sort of like pvp zones but without pvp (or make it optional, hmm*).

3. Scary ancient ruins. Think R'lyeh, though the aquatic angle is not mandatory.

4. A desert. On Mars. After Praetorian invasion Recluse has decided he needs a second power base and established an outpost on the red planet. Aliens are discovered and/or arrive and he invites ALL supers to help "defend humanity". Yes, a co-op zone hosted by a villainous faction - good for the 'gray' feel the devs have been going for lately.

* Perhaps revamp the least used pvp zones (Sirens Call and Bloody Bay, I guess) to this model? More/better missions/arcs than the current repeat-ables but pvp is optional.

I do not suffer from altitis, I enjoy every character of it.

1) Sounds Good.
2) Sounds Good.
3) I like it, particularly with the R'lyeh mention. Make sure that the ruins are definately non-human in origin.
4) The deserts of Mars? Sign me up! I already have a character for that!

Rather than a PvP or Co-Op zone, I'd go "competitive PvE", maybe using the zone Buff/DeBuffs used from doing door missions in PvP zones.

Jungle. Those luscious, deep, dark green vibrant jungles with stuff that can rip your head off, swallow you whole and/or poison you before you can even say what bit me?

Moon zone. Moon zone. Moon zone.

There. I said it thrice.

Egypt would be interesting.

Or, perhaps a zone where time is screwed up. Like Ouroboros wet waywire and got a few interesting areas fused. So, You'd have Egypt on one end of the zone then a prehistoric zone on the other. You'd see some interesting combinations.. We need more time travel zones

Whining about everything since 2006.

Ammo switching for Dual Pistols was my idea:

So Tyrant attacks Primal Earth, sets up a base on Mars to continue his plans, and then asks Primal Earth to help him when he's atatcked by aliens, so that once the aliens are gone he can continue to attack Primal Earth? That's not gray - that's rainbow polka-dot insane

No, not Tyrant, he means Lord Recluse hosting the Martian base.
Bonus points of Grey-ness if Lord Recluse even extends invitation to Longbow to set up.
