Tales from NYC Meet & Greet?

Early arrivers should be stumbling back to their apartments by now - I'll be hoping some vampyrii will still be hanging from the rafters when I stop by the After Party after work...

But any tales or photos to regale us at this point?

They showed a trailer for I19 - I got it on video, but it was from a bit far back, so uploading it to Youtube might be too harsh. I'm gonna try to upload the raw file to some file sharing site somewhere.

I'll hopefully get a better version tomorrow at the panel.

I was there but didn't hear anything notable. I did see the trailer, it was short but very cool. Most people did not have name badges and I never found anyone giving them out, so if there was anyone waiting for a chance to sucker punch me they never got it.

S'funny in the Announcements discussion thread Avatea specifically said there'd be plenty of nametags this time.

I would expect there will be people there until management throws them out.

Now, when the NCSoft people are going to leave...that's another story.

It was fun. I met some cool folks standing in line and hung out with them on and off for a couple of hours.

Shout outs to Mike and his wife Alice (I think, I'm bad with names!! Sorry!!), Rob, the Father/Son whose names I didn't catch, PVP dude and his wife(?) and South Hampton and Virgina ladies who don't play CoH LOL and anyone else I had the pleasure of speaking with!

The raffle felt kind of... rigged. I know it probably wasn't, but most of the people who won were standing right in front and they were mostly VIPs (Guild Wars had some kind of contest where you could get VIP status).

I also got a video of the i19 trailing but I was in the back as well.

Not the best quality because I was in the back also, but you can see most of it.

All in all, I'm glad I went. I left early because I'm not really much into the drinking/dancing scene, but either way, good job NC Soft!

What time did they show the trailer? I got there at about 7:30, but there were no activities going on other than the people trying out Guild Wars 2 at the lower level. I saw Avatea at the swag corner and she said the Devs were downstairs, but I wasn't able to spot them. I was disappointed that there weren't any COH T-shirts. In fact, COH swag was noticeably lacking compared to the Lineage II and AION stuff. I only stayed for about 20 mins, though, since my legs were, and still are, killing me from walking around the Con all afternoon.

They already have the trailer? COOL! Thank you for posting it, James and Solar.

*watches it, then sighs*

Yeah... I gotta make one now. If they can do the whole melodramatic over-the-top, all-it's-missing-is-Don-LaFontaine-doing-the-voiceover thing, I can, too.

These guys show up at the end of the trailer. Any speculation on what they are?
They make me think of Hydra tenactles, but that could be becuase thats the only other instant of "tentacle technology" in the game.

I went, too. It was worth it for the canned Tutti.


Wish I knew who else was gonna be there, but alas. ALAS.

edit: Avatea was there, too? Dawh, I missed my chance to apologize before I'm banned forever for posting that leg accessories thread.

Got there around 2:10am and found a half-dozen happy-looking folks near the bar but the DJ had called it quits and the rest of the place was tumbleweeds plus the staff was giving me teh stinkeye.

The space was awesome tho - the basement bar was a balcony overlooking a dancefloor another story down. Funky lights 'n smoke still sifted up from the floor below.

And there was still fun to be had at the Art bar upstairs.

Sorry I missed the party heroes - maybe next time.

I also had a blast said till about 2am dancing. Was a lot of fun. I just started going up to people with green glowie necklaces andd asked them what server they played on. (Justicites got hugs) Friends of turg got bite (he told me too!)


I got a lot of extra drink tickets (see first comment)

Got to talk to War Witch, Avetea, and Ghost Falcon all where very cool.

Dropbox just shut down my public link due to excessive traffic. I'll try to repost it somewhere else, though I don't know if it's worth it since I'm sure they'll show the same thing at the panel today, which I can get in better quality.
