Two accounts SHHH?

I'm pretty sure there's no rule against having more than one account as long as you're not a GOLD PHARMER!, but in case I'm wrong... I'm asking this for a friend.

If you have two accounts, is there any reason you can't use the same e-mail address for both? Right now I... my friend... has to check two different e-mail boxes for information and it's annoying... to my friend.

There's no rules at all against having multiple accounts. I have 3. The rules against misbehaving apply regardless of how many accounts people have.

I used to have all 3 go to the same email address but for a while none of them would get updates so I changed them to the same email address. They have always pointed to the same name, physical address and credit card.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

Nope. I have two. I know others that have 3-4. There IS a limit of the number that can use any single credit card, though. (Have a friend with multiples, she runs into tha issue when she renews her little sister's account.)

Nothing wrong with two accounts, lots of us have multiple accounts. I know of one person with I think 5 accounts who runs all 5 on a single machine as a one player team. All the accounts can be under the same Master NCSoft account and can share everything. In fact, if I look under my master account I see both my playable accounts as well as an old trial account I created back when they gave the SG prestige boost in order to pad my membership.

It's not against EULA to have multiple accounts, as long as you follow the rules that apply. I know a number of people in the game that have 2 or more accounts. They're good people from what I've seen. They used to use those accounts a lot before we were allowed more than 12 toons per server (36 max). Most of those people allowed thier 2nd (or more) accounts to go inactive with the the 36 slots per server add on.

WTH? How can he play all of em at the same time? Auto powers?
$15/month x 5 = 75... x 12 months = he's loaded.
NCSOFT must love him.

Dinner and a movie for 1: $30

2 accounts sub for 1: $30

one provides entertainment for a night one a month. I for one find my 2 accounts very worth the money and have though of adding a third.

Being as all of my accounts are on the same "master" account, I always assumed I should list the same email. I mean, the second one is officially for my sister. If I can ever get her to play. I'm sure she doesn't want emails, though.

I don't know how it's done, the person in question is Blackberry Thorn, a regular on the Guardian boards. I know it involves having all 5 in windowed mode with 4 somewhat smaller and a 5th above.

I can't manage two at once myself... the only times I've dual boxed was basically to PL one of the accounts and just let it door sit.

Yeah, I'm with you. I also have two accounts and, while I will often have both active at the same time, I can usually only do minor things, like doorsittting or occasionally following my main on a farm map spamming buffs. Running a fire.kin farmer with another fire.kin in tow can be pretty devastating: six imps, double hot feet, double fulcrum shift, speed boosting each other.

I've also used both accounts in other game situations like Shard TFs, where I leave one toon at the contact while the other actually runs the TF. I've also managed to run a tank and an EMP on a hami. When my tank's yellow goes down, I switch to the emp and rez and buff.

That's about it. I can't even get my head around five accounts at once.

Never argue with stupid people. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I had 4 at one point simply because I ran out of slots on my favorite server. Multiple accounts also makes it easier to do SG invites for my private SG's. This was before they started selling character slots. I'm down to two accounts now due to financial limitations.

Bingo. I got my second account long before we could have more than 12 slots per server. It's so useful that I've kept it active.

I can run both under some circumstances. I've done it quite a bit when 'soloing' the old Positron TF. When exemped to 15 (before we got to keep powers 5 over our level), both characters are a lot easier to play. Ironblade is broadsword which has really long recharge. That gives me time to switch back and forth. I play with both in windowed mode, side by side. I have a 16x9 widescreen monitor.

I have 3. I have 2 pcs. I run my toon on mine while having the other pc run the 2. 1 sits and gets pl'd and 1 follows me to help with +4x8 mobs. Mines a fire/kin, a fire/sonic follows and the 3rd can be whatever we want made.

Can't speak to more than two, but with two, there's a LOT you can do. For one, you can help powerlevel yourself if you're stuck in an awkward level range (not that that's very necessary anymore).

For badging or unlocking costume pieces and such it's wonderful. And best of all, you're your own support. I like to run heavy damage dealers with support characters running behind them. Using auto-assist, I can reach over and use power buttons on the other computer (heal is always 1, attacks from there, debuffs 7-0). I guess I should have mentioned that I use a strong laptop for one account and another computer for the other. Sometimes I play two windowed, but it's pretty clunky to control both that way.

Most people don't even notice I'm running two accounts when teaming or TFing

I know BBT and have played with them and their... posse.

My understanding is that BBT runs two desktops and a laptop (or did), the desktops are multi-core, and they run 2-3 instances of CoX, plus the one on the laptop, depending on server traffic and character/task difficulty. BBT doesn't bother to try controlling each character's individual position, but locks them into auto-follow on the 'leader' and Mostly, I believe they target through the leader-toon. Then it just becomes a matter of keyboard set-up, with one group of keys controlling each support-character.

It seems simple enough, but the thought of a Mind that needs this amount of complexity, in order to be entertained... I'm in awe. Either that, or BBT is just plain Nuts!

So, there it is, a basic guide to creating and controlling your own multiple account CoX 'Hydra', without any need for Eula-breaking bots. Remember, kids, it's all about pushing your own buttons!

Be Well!

11 City accounts? Psh, that's not so hard. My account page:

...

Admittedly, 10 of those 11 accounts were throwaway trial accounts which were never intended to be used past the initial 14 days.

I reckon this is a "Double Bluff" job and all your accounts actually are titled "Redacted" just to make us think they actually have been

Or maybe a "Triple Bluff" Arghhhhhhh............

Cheers
