It's time for another City of Heroes® Reactivation Weekend and this one is going to be better than ever! Why, you ask? Because old and new players alike will get a preview of the new content in City of Heroes Going Rogue™! For everyone's gaming pleasure, Praetoria will be accessible to ALL accounts in good standing whether they are brand new, have been reactivated or have remained active!

If you've let your City of Heroes account lapse, but would like to see what Going Rogue is like, we will reactivate your account for FREE. Because there is so much new content to explore, you're getting almost FIVE full days to experience it all!

Active and reactivated account holders will be able to try out our newest and most visually captivating power sets* while discovering a brand new parallel world and the intestine struggle ripping apart its denizens behind those sterile Praetorian walls**!

The Reactivation Weekend starts on Thursday, October 7th at 8:00 a.m. Pacific Time / 10:00 a.m. Central Time / 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time / 4:00 p.m. British Time / 17:00 Central European Time and ends on Sunday, October 10th, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time / 1:59 a.m. Central Time / 2:59 a.m. Eastern Time / 7:59 a.m. British Time / 8:59 Central European Time.

There is no better time to come back to City of Heroes and say hi to your friends! Who knows, you may even make new ones in Praetoria!

So mark your calendars and get ready to go Rogue!

* To continue using the Dual Pistols, Demon Summoning, Kinetic Melee and Electric Control power sets after the Reactivation weekend, you will need to upgrade your City of Heroes game account with a valid Going Rogue code.

** Please note all active or reactivated accounts that will be granted temporary access to Going Rogue will only have access to the Praetorian content up to level 14.

So, to be clear:

1. This is NOT a double-xp weekend.

2. I KNEW there was something unpleasantly familiar about the flavor of Enriche!

I need to play more in Praetoria. I haven't even got to the parts with the struggling, ripping intestines yet, but I can only hope it has something to do with the ghouls.

Will expired trial accounts (like the ones we invited our friends to play with for 10 days or so, I know the character is still in the DB) be reactivate-able too? Makes sense since even new accounts will join in, but I wanted to be sure before I invite my brother to come over again to play with me.

Reactivation weekends usually have something for all the playerbase.

Perhaps those players who are active and have GR get the 2xp weekend we are accustomed to having, those who have not been active, or do not have GR get the bonus of seeing the new content.

Not upset or anything, just, reactivation weekends are something I really look forward to, as a means of really getting some xp.

I wish it WAS i19. I am so burned out on waiting for the good stuff. That would play well for a reactivation weekend -specifically this one- and would be a very smart move.

Did I19 ever get to beta? I haven't kept up.

If not, I think its just bug patches.

So, 2 VERY important things to note:

1) Nowhere is there any mention of this being a Double XP Reactiviation Weekend. Don't be surprised if there is no Double XP.

2) It says, "Praetoria will be accessable for ALL accounts". Note the key word, "accounts". Not, "characters". So, before anyone gets their hopes up, do not expect to be able to take any Primal Characters to Praetoria. Not unless Issue 19 has gone Live by 10/7/10.

Please let it not be Issue 19. I am so hoping they work on the lag and mapserver issues before another Issue comes out. Not to mention all the other little bugs.

As for Issue 19 going to beta, I doubt it, Issue 20 was supposed to beta first.

Good points and I am pretty sure Issue 19 will not be live until around Mid-November, maybe even into December based on the past publishes of new Issues. Every three to four months is about normal.

While intestine has a secondary meaning which people are unused to and is correct in its usage here, it's primary usage makes it an unfortunate choice since that is what most people will think of.

A better choice would be internecine.

I wonder if we will get another before the end of the year? IIRC, we've only had one this year so far.

Can a player who doesn't have Going Rogue switch sides?

According to the GR and CoX websites, that would be a no. The tips system is part of Issue 18, but the Morality System is part of GR. Therefore you would need GR in order to switch sides.

Then who gets this fresh order of ducks?

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

Why wouldn't they be able to? The announcement said that everybody will have access to Going Rogue for 4+ days, and that is just enough time to switch over a character. Unless they somehow lock out just that feature...

Hmmm. This is an interesting point alright.

I'll have the chance to duck EU side and maybe also move a Brute or two Blueside in the process. Interesting

That's not exactly what the announcement says. It says that players will be able to access the Preatoria portion of Going Rogue.

On a personal note:
I finally get to get my Storage SG back from my inactive account! WOOT!

AND all of the new powersets... Why lock out just one of the features of the expansion? That doesn't make sense to those people that may reactivate for that mechanic if they can see what it is like, but don't give a flying squirrel about re-doing levels 1-20 (errrr, 14 for this time period). A little clarification is needed, me thinks...
