  1. So you're telling us you'll never get the forums fixed to let us stay logged in?

That's my best attempt at humor, because I'm too sad to do any better.

Thank you Paragon Studios. You folks are great.

  2. Any comment on the file named Statesman_Dead_Teaser.psd that was visible on David's computer? O.o

I'm sure it has nothing to do with what came to mind. O.O

Uh oh... Well fortunately there was no swag for me to not buy you any of, if that helps?

Oh I agree it was a horrible choice of words, especially since they went to so much trouble to get a connection good enough to broadcast things to all the players.

FWIW, being in the room, I took it as a thank you for being willing to brave the traffic in this wreck of a city. :-/ But your take on it is valid too. I think it was just an off the cuff remark to try to get people to actually fill out the surveys. There were a surprising number of them left on chairs. :-(

That was Brian "Crosscheck" Clayton. I don't think he meant it the way you're interpreting it, but he's the guy you want to complain to.

To item one, he didn't say "only."

Edit: oh yes I see what you mean - yes that one set only shows up in those packs. At first.

To item three, many of us in the room just saw a washed out screen, so you got an authentic representation of the live experience.

Feedback so far, this development team is the friendliest group of content producers in the industry. What a collection of genuinely nice people.
  7. Any sub-50 members of the team? Members without Going Rogue?

Just asking, because lower level characters seem to try to join more often than you would think.

  9. Nemesis is a Hubris plot.
  10. 7)Fire/Rad Cont - uvee blaze

Hmmm, that's one of my alts, so I guess I'm helping out on this.

    I'll be there!
  11. Fun team, as always. Has anyone heard anything about costume drop rates? I only got one all night (played for about six hours last night - whew), and none once I joined the Fire/Rad team.

Not a big deal since we got all the new badges from running the tip mission five times as a team, but still seemed odd.
  12. 1. Yes. They're a fun community event, and the new version seems easier, now that enough people have learned the new way. BTW, when the devs data mine the time spent on Hami raids, I hope they remember to count the time spent killing monsters to get Hami to spawn.

    2. Yes; however: Work calls me away at inconsistent and inopportune times. I'm reluctant to take on a team lead role for something like a Hami raid where not just the members of your own team, but everyone else in the zone might be impacted by my having to leave on short notice.

I would enjoy seeing some rotation among team roles too. I like playing a tank on the yellow taunt team, but it would be nice to occasionally have a shot at Hazy's killing-hit prize too; the yellow team isn't in there hitting Hami at the end (It's the nature of the yellow taunt team - with great responsibility comes great, uh, stuff you have to do).

That's good enough for me - Team Teleport is getting respec'd OUT.

And I messed up on the first bloom because I used the regular Team Teleport power instead of the veteran power Assemble the Team.

Am I correct that it's not possible (or practical) to slot Team Teleport with enough range to be useful for pulling a team out of the goo?

  16. That was a lot of fun, and it was an honor to be part of that team. Isn't that last mission a blast?

I still say it would have gone a lot smoother if we had just shot Manticore.
  17. This is my favorite story/arc/TF in the game, but it's not popular, maybe because of the lack of special rewards (its difficulty might also factor into that lack of popularity). So I end up soloing it way too often.

Also, the inability of the signature heroes to navigate the landscape without getting stuck in a piece of bent metal or getting a foot stuck between two rocks can be depressing. "This is the best and brightest of Paragon City?"

I'd like to do this with Flagrant Fowl, a scrapper, but count on me for whatever AT the team needs at the time. But I swear, if Manticore gets stuck on the water tower again, someone is going to have to stop me from shooting him myself.
  18. Favorite memory:

Flying through Steel Canyon for the first time. "Oh my.... someone has made a game where I can FLY!"

    Other favorites:

My first night in game, getting invited to a team in Perez Park, running through the maze fighting everything in sight. So much lag (my computer at the time barely met the minimum requirements).

Attacking Jurassik with my scrapper, a tanker, and no one else. The battle was abrupt. That car's bumper STILL has pieces of my scrapper's liver stuck on it.

Seeing someone's lvl 30 Devouring Earth ambush running through Kings Row. "Woah, those are trees, and they're walking. I'm going to be high enough level to fight those some day."

So many great teams, with so many great people.

Entering the Hive and seeing a Hami Raid for the first time. All those people... all that lag.

    What a game!
  19. This particular laptop isn't available anymore, but the specs should give you an idea of something that will play CoH well:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220046

I play on the highest settings on that. I haven't tried the I17 beta to see what Ultra Mode is like on there, but I'm assuming it will be... unusable.

So anything with more graphics power than that will probably work pretty well, except for Ultra Mode, of course.
  20. Positron floated this idea in the big "Wouldn't it be great if..." panel at Hero Con last fall. It was soundly booed.

I think if it had been in the game from the beginning then we would be used to the idea and it wouldn't be a big deal. At this point I think I prefer what we have now. At almost six years in, we're now seeing some REALLY creative names appearing.

That same panel included a poll about whether it was time for another database purge to free up names that were taken but weren't being used. Positron didn't seem in favor of that because he had gotten emails from people who lost characters in the previous purge who said they would never come back now. The general reaction in the room was "The hell with people who aren't playing the game." I suppose I agree with the room on that one too.
  21. Wow, congratulations PW! This is very much deserved!

For those who haven't played any of PW's arcs who found her through this thread, all her work has been great. If you're wondering what to select for a new arc to play, just search for @PW.

While you're working with them, any chance of updating the City of Heroes Physx implementation to recognize and use the NVidia versions of Physx?

Yes, I know that there's not much difference between the hardware accelerated versions and using the CPU to handle particle physics, and yes I know that Ultra Mode's updates aren't about changing the Physx engine.

I'm just sayin'.... while you're talking to NVidia.... let us use the newer Physx drivers, please.
  23. I'll be there with my Broadsword/Shield scrapper, Rex Vanadium.

The one Shaturday TF I've made it onto was a blast, and the shard TFs, for all their tediousness, are among my favorites.
  24. The Strange tale of Silent Witness
    Arc ID: 345908
    Length: Long (4 missions)
    Morality: Neutral
Enemy Groups: Circle of Thorns, Carnies, Custom Group

A remake of my first MA arc. Status protection recommended!
  25. Yep, it was great to see you at the dinner, Keres. Hero Con was also great. We'll be back next year provided something really awful doesn't happen.
