Toons you've kicked yourself for deleting
wish I kept my Thugs/Dark MM =\
I redid my main character at LV18 long before I decided to start collecting badges. The original had the first year anniversary badge, the remake did not.
On Guardian I had a toon named "Luna Tick" now someone else has the name.

My first Widow/Fortunata, who was level 28, I think? Deleted her, only to re-roll a Widow very shortly after. I was kicking myself so damn hard.
The Psi/Mental Blaster version of my Empath/Psi Defender, who was level 33. I still kick myself when I log into test, where she is frozen for ever at level 33
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I'm quite happy that I don't really delete characters. I just use free server transfers to move unused ones to a server where I don't play. This way, if I somehow want to play them again I can just move them back to my main server.

I deleted a 32 Illusion/Kin Controller named Mystic Spirit.
Wished I didn't now and I also forgot to save her costume it was great.
Lessee.
I deleted a level 50 Crab Spider just because I wanted to change his body type from Male to Huge. Fast-forward to now where we can change body types at a tailor. He's 50 again by now anyway, though.
I also deleted a level 45 Bots/Traps/Mu MM because I got bored with Traps. I rerolled him as a Bots/Force Field.
He's currently level 44 Bots/Traps/Mu again, after realizing my mistake.
And then I deleted a level 50 Spines/Fire Scrapper after unlocking Warshades with him, but-...
Wait, no, I don't regret that one because unlocking Warshades was the only reason I ever even created him. Carry on.
wish i'd kept my ice/fire tanker as im finding my love for ice armor again lol
Armed N' Hammered-Merc/Poison Mastermind, deleted at lvl 45
This was at a point when /poison just didn't appeal to me. I found myself turning towards AE to get him up in levels because he couldn't get through a paper misson to save his life (literally). After a while the character slot was needed and he suddenly was expendable. A couple of months later, after reading guides on /Poison and brainstorming over it a bit, I found that /Poison isn't that bad, in fact it's pretty killer, and I'm going to try it again, maybe with a different pet set, but with some proper slotting he could have been awesome. |
Issue 16 made me feel like this.
Warning: This poster likes to play Devil's Advocate.
I deleted my Energy/Elec Blaster because she sucked, and rerolled as Elec/Dev. A year or so later I made another Energy/Elec Blaster, who didn't suck nearly as much and was lots of fun, since by then I knew how to play Blasters. The Elec/Dev was just no fun. She made it to level 35 through sheer stubborness, before getting a reroll as Elec/Elec.

Sacred Blade, Hiroko Wallis was my Half Japanese Archaeologist and the leader of Salamanca's Saviors -years- ago. Through her I fell in love with my fiancee online from all the time we spent hanging out, roleplaying, and talking out of character about things we liked and disliked.
Unfortunately, my Boyfriend at the time (an emotionally abusive terror who had left me almost emotionally dead months before I rolled Hiroko up) found out and deleted her, then changed the passwords on the account and canceled it so that even though I had money of my own I couldn't get that global name back or any of my other, less important, characters back.
She was a level 40 Broadsword/Invulnerable and not a day goes by that i don't miss her!

Most characters that I delete are going to get rerolled as something more fitting, or the concept stinks, or I just don't like the sets. I really can't think of any that got deleted who just went away entirely AND who I actually liked, they've all been redone as something better.
There are some characters I've deleted over the years that probably could've been salvaged, especially very early ones. Back then there were no respecs, no way to rename, no server transfers. I don't regret getting rid of them though.
I regret 3, all more for the names I lost more than anything else.
Infinity Zero, a Kin/Sonic Defender
Infinite Recursion, a Sonic/Ice blaster.
Taken for Granite, a stone (duh!) tank.
I tried using all those names again, only to find that they were all taken. The Kin/Sonic was the highest level at level 25.

Ben Nevis, a level 50 WP/Stone Tanker. I deleted him because I thought that he'd be better suited as an Earth/Earth Dominator. I was wrong. Now, he's currently sitting as a level 9 WP/Stone Tanker who I'll once again work on after a couple of my current in-game projects are at stopping points.

my /poison mm. i really liked it but deleted it at lvl 35 cause i needed the slots back then for guardian
A radiation emission/radiation blast defender.
The name I chose for him didn't really fit, (Battlesteel) and since name changing wasn't around back then, that wasn't an option.
Plus, due to too many years of Dynasty Warrior type games, all I could really stand to play were melee oriented characters. It wasn't until my annual playthrough of Final Fantasy (or its various ports) that I realized out how fun buffing and debuffing could be at times.
I deleted the character at 30, during a double xp weekend. If we get another such weekend sometime before the end of the year, I may give it yet another try.
Can't come up with a name? Click the link!
Elec/elec blaster at 50. Because I hated the name. If only I knew about rename tokens then. :/
Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.
I regret deleting my level 50 Fire/Fire Scrap. Mainly because of the power color changing. Also because of the neat damage.
I've never deleted a character over 20. But early on I deleted Organica at 17 and remade her. She was katana/dark armor, and I just thought the endurance drain was impossible (people told me stamina would help but I couldn't wait). I don't regret so much because I made her a katana/regen and that's a great set.
I also deleted the first Mouse Police at 19. She was an invulnerable/energy melee tanker, and I hated that she did so little damage. I remade her as a dark melee/invulnerable scrapper. But I only played her up to about 27. Meanwhile my favorite tanker these days is invunlerable/energy melee, so I guess I should have waited. ^_^
my lil RWZ Challenge vid
space robot 5 has been rerolled about 3 times now, i do wish i had toughed it out and finished him as a fire/ice tank.
Fire/Fire Blaster on Liberty...should of kept him, now someone else has Roy Mustang.
Wait ... DELETE?
Triumphant Defenders Forever
Psylenz FF/Psi, ArticQuark Storm/Rad, Symon BarSisyphus Bots/psn, Max VanSydow Thugs/Dk, Cyclone Symon Bots/stm, Blue Loki Ice/Cd, Widow 46526
HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.
Well I'm coming up on my 18-month vet badge this month, pretty pumped for the Sammi Armor, and I was taking a moment to reflect on all the trials and errors, ups and downs, that my toons have been through in the past, even if much shorter a carrer than others.
*cracks open 40oz, dumps it out on the curb*
So I'm taking a moment to pay my respects to the ones I wish I didn't delete in the end, though it seemed like the best decision at the time, hindsight is always 20/20, lol. These are the ones that were deleted even despite the level they got to:
Nuke-leus-Rad/Rad corruptor, deleted at lvl 38
This one I really kick myself for, cause it was my 2nd toon created ever and had the 5-year party badge (jubilant?). That and well, it's Rad/Rad! awesome combo any way you slice it. I don't even know why I did it, I was just trying out EMP Pulse and loving it, but something just wasn't keeping the fire going and he once again lost to a new toon on the same slot.
Ming Li-DB/FA Brute, deleted at lvl 45
After the recent /FA changes I wish I had held onto her. She was a very old toon from the AE saga, never really played with, doorsat to 30-something, managed to actually play the game with her for another 15 levels but got pretty frustrated at the no KB protection getting me killed all the time, but this was before learning about -KB io's. Imagine being confused that there are no -KB training or DO/SO enhancements..../facepalm.
Undead circus-Necro/TA Mastermind, deleted at lvl 34
I wasn't sure about him from the beginning, but I bet he could have been pretty good. As much flack as /TA gets, I dig it on Ninjas, but was finding my zombies to fail before I even got through firing off all his arrows. I'm sure that if I had just stuck it out until lvl 35 and got Oil Slick Arrow he would have started coming around. I remember firing off Poison gas arrow and thinking "this move sucks it doesn't even DO anything!" Nowadays I'm realy enjoying the -20% DMG it delivers, keeps my ninjas alive longer. Whatta dumba**....
Scrapp Munkee-BS/SD Scrapper, deleted at lvl 32
This guy I remember being played a lot for a hero character of mine, since I'm very pro-villain and tend to gravitate towards those ATs. BS/SD is a great combo, and I was so close to getting Shield charge (old overpowered Shield Charge at that!) but he got deleted just because of the end drain problem, which could have been easily solved by a more patient Beyeajus that could have taken better time and thought to slot right. I'm actually rerolling that one, and I can see it being powerful down the road.
Those are the fallen, the misunderstood, the victims of my own impatience and dumbassery as a new player during my first year. Let's all give a shout out to the ones that got deleted, but looking back, you wish you never did.
