I have no idea. This image was posted on Twitter and Facebook with little to no explanation other than that it was to be relevant to PAX.

Edit: Oops, wrong section. Maybe this'll stay to hit the Comic Culture Kiddies? Not sure. Will notify mod.

War Witch already works there... two new employees?

They all laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian.
But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

Hmm... I wonder if this means they're going to start a new comic book? If they are, my guess is it'll focus on Going Rogue and the new Praetorian storylines.

It would be awesome if they could get Mark Waid to write a story again.

If they want to start a new comic... start with second-string heroes like Apex, War Witch and Horus instead of Statesman and Batmanticore.

If they wish to continue the old Blue King arcs (and maybe get Hickman to write it), I am all for it.

This is very clearly labeled as the 11th issue in the comic book... seems rather obvious that they're picking up the series again. Only two variables:

1) For how long.

2) For what purpose?

My guesses:

1) Briefly

2) To promote upcoming updates, as the books will be more tied to game content going forward.

If WW and/or Apex finally got their own TF, I call dibs on making the teaser trailer to get people stoked for it. I've even got the music.

eh, the revival of the comic would not be the best news for me. maybe , just maybe it would drum up some interest, but for me its additional cost for something that is secondary to the game. so I'm ambivalent to a return of the comics. now manybe doing them as quick encapsulations of the issues wouldn't be horrible, but really i just dont have a strong desire for a comic.

Genius marketing: At the end of each comic, enclose a code for a free trial that comes with a special jet pack power. Said code can also be a temp jet for already active accounts.

Is there anyone here who would challenge you for that?

Ashcraft, Neutra, and Leandro, to name just three. Lots of folks here make kickin' vids. I'm just the most shameless when it comes to self-promotion, so everyone knows me.

If they were being kinda cryptic... um... I mean Paragon? about it, Issue 11 was when Ouroboros were introduced, and so also when we first heard about The Coming Storm.

Always remember, we were Heroes.

My apologies for my previous assumptions. I thought the Blue Knight run ended at Issue 10. Disregard previous speculation.

Actually, it ended at 12.

Ah. I knew there were many who made vids, but I had never heard of others specifically working on trailers. Though, speaking of, wasn't one of those three the one that did the comic previews?

That's Chase Arcanum, if memory serves. And I'd love to see him get back into doing his own 'vid-capture' comics.

Even if this is the hype for a new comic series, I'd still be stoked. Anything that helps get the word out!

War Witch TF featuring Apex and Horus, set in a revamped Boomtown as that seems to be a big 5th Column hangout place, and WW and Requiem have some history?

Consider me intrigued!

I loved the Blue King comics, and was... well, saddened to see it end. If this update has got anything to do with the comics, the characters, or their story, I'll likely be pleased. Looking forward to it.

I think the whole comic tease alludes to something new in CoH. In the Comic, Horus is in trouble with Crey for illegally entering their lab and blowing it up (after they used a painful Memory Machine on him to see what he knew, of course).

When Crey tracks Horus to Apex and War Witch's apartment, they have to defend themselves form Paragon Protectors, who supposedly have legal authority to take them in for questioning.

The story itself has nothing to do with Boomtown. The cover seems to be just an exaggeration of the destruction that happens in the issue (inside the apartment). However, if the clue is based solely on the cover art, it might be the cover that resembles Boomtown most closely.

Possible allusions:

  • some new/ revamped CoH / CoV story arcs with moral decisions
  • Player apartments (and possible base revamp)
  • Base defense mechanism (against NPCs)
  • The "return" of Apex and Horus to CoH (even though their characters have never existed in-game before)
  • Some new red names taking up the mantles of Apex and Horus
  • BAB gets moved to Atlas Park (a play on an inaccuracy in the comic )
Hmmmm... well, guess I'll have to wait until PAX to find out.

Edit: besides... why choose Blue King Issue 11 specifically? It must have something to do with the story therein...
