Are any of your characters homages to existing comic book heroes?
I used to make homage characters all the time, but they are all gone. Except...
I just watched "Tombstone" the other day and Val Kilmer's Doc Holiday was just wonderful. I had felt no compulsion to make a DP toon of any kind until then. I'm just "sorry" I had to give him a secondary from what's available. 
not rally a Homage...but...
My character Magisterum, is...well, is personality is based off me, and I gave him my german herritage.
He also happens to have a pretensile blue, fuzzy barbed tail, and before he learned to shapeshift, his skin was also blue and fuzzy...
He doesn't teleport, and doesn't have yellow eyes or blue hair, but I guess you could say right now, he worked his way up to being a homage to Nightcrawler.

Homages....
Mystik Paladin recently had this conversation at the superhero school where he teaches in RP..
Paladin : (transforming into Paladin from his civilian identity) Paladin, come forth!
Student: *snickering, not realizing he can hear her..* 'Paladin, come forth'?
Paladin: *calmly* Would you rather I say 'Shazam'?
Which is when I (as the player) realized he is in that respect, an homage to Captain Marvel...although he uses a gem, and gets his powers from King Oberon and Queen Titania of the Fae instead of a pantheon of gods and an old wizard...
In some ways, Paladin's also a bit of an unintended homage to Ralph Hinkley, aka The Greatest American Hero-again the gem he uses is where he gets most of his powers...and well, Paladin is a bit of a klutz...most likely to land in a bush or in the drink after a long flight...and Rick Springfield, but I have yet to get his hair right...

My only real homage character is a combination of the Phantom Stranger and Elliot Ness (Untouchables). Think 50s FBI guy (complete with Tommy Gun for blastering primary), but with the mental manipulation as his secondary to add that magical man of mystery aspect.

really, I have to find it....
The first one I can think of is "Sea Sword", strongly inspired by Namor (and kinda Aquaman while I'm at it). They only have in common that they come from the sea but Namor was always in my head when I was making him.

She is based off of Jim Butcher's queen of the Winter Court. I also had the good luck one night at 2am to play with Jim Butcher on his Harry dresden - character. It was great fun.
Definitely a homage.
Charisma, suave, and professional. That's how I try to capture the essence of Dante in Seraph. He has a strong sense of moral justice and uses what he was born with as means to get the job done.

Val isnt a deliberate homage, but she takes a lot of inspiration from Zatanna and Clea, both of whom I used to love when I younger - burdened by the terrible responsabiiyt of phenomenal cosmic power; determined not to loose her humanity in spite of it; following in the footsteps of powerful men; Sassy exterior;confident and determined in matters of life and death, but sometimes unsure of her own feelings in personal things; ECT. Her costume is also an unapologetic nod to Clea of Earth X (pictured as my avatar). Its a theme that ahsnt ever gotten old for me.

I have a few homages. Oddly enough, my main hero isn't an homage, though after seeing Chris Evans in the Fantastic Four movies, it was like *he* was an homage to how I RP Falcon.
