The best part of GR

The best part is no freaking war walls in Praetoria.

It's high time something similar is done on the hero side in Paragon City. It's not like the war walls are actually stopping anything. They just force us to realize that we are just playing in little boxes.

It's time to take them down.

At first I was skeptical about the borderless zoning tech. I decided to test and see how accurate it was so I walked along the side rail of one of the bridges from Nova Praetoria into the next zone, and when I loaded it up, I came out. . . right on the rail. I was thoroughly impressed.

well, everything has tos tart somewhere..so while i wouldn't see this as a guarantee of it happening, the fact that it is in the game now would logically be the first step, wouldn't it?

Step 1: Bridge the gap between Port Oakes and Cap Au Diable. All the zones in PC are separated by suburbs (or water or being a nuclear reactor) as far as the map goes, and all of the RI zones are their own island... except PO+Cap.

I agree about Port Oakes/Cap Au Diable split. I didn't realize it was part of the same island for the longest time.

I do think the walls should stay around Terra Volta though. That seems like it should be there.

Also, Terra Volta is a TARDIS...

I'd like it if Terra Volta and Independence Port were merged into a single zone, divided into two sections, like Faultline is with the dam.

I'd love a Paragon City rebuild. The Imperial City is amazing. The buildings, the billboards, the layout...

Plus the first time I climbed Cole Tower, and looked out over all of Praetoria... my graphics aren't high enough to render Neuron's Reach, but I could see all of the Imperial City, and it was amazing.

@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!

I'm sure its on their list of things to do, and yes I would love it as well. Make Paragon City feel like the metropolis it really is ;-)

I like your idea about TV as well Golden Girl, it should be used like Faultline and the Dam. Some stuff would need to be cut perhaps, but I'm sure the general feel of TV could be saved.

I don't see them tearing the wall down exactly (Those things probably don't just go down by having a few heroes go super nova and explode into it), but I wouldn't mind if they just... Turned them off. They're so utterly garish.

Yep, would be great if they could improve Paragaon City that way.
Proabably wouldn't work merging the whole town to one zone, but if they could reduce the amount of zones by merging several districts together would be great.
Might even help with the teaming as more people will be in the same zone.

There isn't much to be done about the Rugue Isles sadly, but I actually pretty much like them the way they are.

There is one downfall of having Praetoria be so nice. Once you outlevel it, you back in Paragon and Rogue Island.
Now the developers did a good job in upgrading the graphics of PC and RI, but you can still see the aged design there a bit.

They would but the Rikti stole the remote control for them and States refuses to go buy a new one saying "Just look properly for it. It's probably down the back of the couch or something".

I've always liked the way Paragon City looks, war-walls and all. Being a fan of the storyline, I've always seen the war-walls within context. I realize this puts me in the minority; but at the same time, I trust the devs to do something even cooler if and when the walls ever go down.

Turning them off would allow us to have a proper night look to the city, without the blue-ish green-ish glow everywhere.

Didn't Babs or Posi, at one point, say something like;

"We can either spend time and resources revamping the old content or building new content, so we choose to add new content instead."

If that still holds, then I wouldn't hold my breath. Personally as much as I'd like the old zones spruced up I'd much rather they flesh out Praetoria.

This may seem drastic, but honestly, maybe when pretoria is done, we just destroy the old paragon city... I don't think there's any question that Pretoria is a better game and storyline anyway. Assuming all future content continues to be like that, nobody will really miss the old content. Most people were skipping the old content long before GR came along.

I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.

It was Posi I think. But he says a lot of things like "In future we'll probably focus on releasing TFs rather than missions as you now have the tech to do missions yourselves" and "We won't be merging the markets but we are looking at other options".

Which is really more of what I want. I don't mind if the physical walls remain, I just really hate City of Neon Curtain(tm)

Yeah. Im really hoping, now that GR is out of the bag, that the much, much needed restoration of Paragon City begins.

Come ON people, there is Issue1 junk in there that is still making the core of the game suck where it should rock.

In all seriousness, you can only go so far with 'New Shinies', until you suddenly realise the Ferrari you thought you were driving has a rusted chassis and an engine from a Ford Fiesta.
