Introducing...evil you! Now with added Goatee!
Not yet, but I have a few ideas for it. Just need more info about Praetoria to make it fit in well.
But I do have a character that was transported to Praetoria from our dimension, and joined the Resistance to try to get back.
Not yet. My first one was my main turned into a KM/WP Stalker...as I can't have DP/WP As an option yet, I think I'll like KM as a mix of time manipulation melee.
The other is a KM/NIN that I wanted as a Primal hero.
My next toon made in Praetoria will either be my main's praetorian counterpart or just a praetorian.

since had five slots of costume my namesake cien will
lose his hero status (vigilante)...turn evil (VIllan)...find his soul again (rogue)...return to be a hero (Hero)
already have the five slots made up as each ill post picture
as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.
I already have a Praetorian version of my main, created when power proliferation brought us Electric/Storm Corruptors. Ignore the file name; the name I wanted for Praetorian Monsoon (the bottom half) ended up belonging to a signature character that didn't exist in the game at the time, but was mentioned in things like the 2008 calendar wallpaper and an IO set.

Sure did. At least for Saber Wolf, now named Agent Shepard. As opposed to being the soul enemy of Malta, he's now apart of their board of directors; his backstory anyways. Didn't serve in the military, hasn't been married (the original Rogue Isles version he was married but Malta killed both his wife and child which is pretty much where he picks up from), and he was an Orphan where as his Rogue Isle's version father was just a guy that adopted him.
No picks though at the moment, was too busy running around and monitoring the games status on my comp.
When I moved my TA/A Defender "Tally-Ho" to Virtue, I had to change her name so I went with "English Sparrow". I was never in love with the new name but I snagged "Scarlet Finch" off the name thread.
With Praetoria, I rolled up Scarlet Finch as a Traps/Archery Defender dressed in the same English fox hunting costume as Tally-Ho/English Sparrow but with a black domino mask (being all out of goatees at the time). I'm taking her red side after Praetoria but haven't decided yet exactly how Maggie Walsh v2.0 veered into a life of crime for her bio.
English Sparrow took advantage of the transfers and returned to Victory to reclaim her proper name.
On Primal Earth, the mutant spines/fire scrapper known as Mercury Missile died in the Rikti War, her remains being used as part of Crey's Revenant Hero Project. A 7th generation Paragon Protector that is more or less a direct clone of her has taken over her life and is now publicly known as her. The official story: after suffering grievous injury in the Rikti War, a Crey medical team rescued her and spent years giving power therapy to her; only within the recent years has she finally been able to be a hero again.
On Praetorian Earth, there was never a Rikti War for her to die in - there was only the utopia provided by Emperor Cole. Known as the spines/electric Lightning Quill in that dimension, she's an official member of the Praetorian Police Department's Powers Division, fighting the members of the Resistance and the Destroyers.
My Hero character is Janet Forestar, a transgendered Heroine whose panicked and twitchy personality resulted in a flashy, OTT fighting style and approach to heroism - very much about the showboating, but still putting the defense of innocents over her own wellbeing, or the chance to put away a criminal.
Later tonight I'll be making Johathan Hicks, the man who never had the opportunity to express himself as Janet Foster, and thus never transitioned. Extremely closeted and withdrawn, he funneled himself into his work and became an ative supporter of Tyrant - he knows the Rebels are, technically, in the right but he can't bring himself to undo what he's worked for and potentially face up to the dirty truth.
I already had about a half dozen Praetorian concepts in play. Some of them were versions of my own characters, one was of a friend's character so we could play them as rivals, and the last was of a major NPC.
Each and every one of them had their backstory blasted into non-canon oblivion by the expansion. |
So what did I do? I considered the Great Praetorian Retcon to be the result of timey-wimey meddling. Somebody went back in time and killed Stefan at the Well of the Furies, and that resulted in the Praetoria we have now. Friend of mine was even writing an AE arc about it, but I don't know if he ever finished it.
When War Cat runs the newly-revised Tina Macintyre and Maria Jenkins arcs, she's going to be rather surprised that Praetoria isn't the same world she left behind... which will prompt her to return and find out what's going on (in the form of a newly-rolled alternate character, Huntress Houlihan).

Young Phalanx: Necril, Blazing Witch
...why can't your characters just come from a third version of Paragon, rather than changing fundamental moments of Praetorian lore? It's established Tyrant was the one who killed Stefan.
Long history with the other Praetorians. Also I think the way the AE arc was getting set up was to ally the player with Tyrant in that final mission, but I could be mistaken.

Besides... it's a retcon. Retcons are temporal meddling already.

So your canon is more important than the world's writers. kk.
It's personal canon. I don't force it on anyone else, it's just how I account for it with this one particular character. And, really, for all she knows it could just be dimensional slippage - New Praetoria's dimensional coordinates slipped into where Old Praetoria's were, sort of like how the Council Empire slid into the slot once occupied by Axis Amerika until Reichsman decided to show his face again.
My other Praetorian characters (Chakamil Silverspot, Diabolesse) couldn't possibly care less. They work within the existing framework; they're just getting rerolled from Villains to actually start in Praetoria.

Okay time for another post. Been a veteran of the game for 6 years, but only recently decided to start posting. I love to RP, but most of the RP community has no idea I am sure. Always a little shy, but I do have some RP toons.
One is Ms America, a patriotic Shield Martial Arts Scrapper (yes I know, sorry Captain America is my favorite superhero). She is a member in good standing with the Guardians of the Golden Age, and is trying to serve as a symbol to others. She lost her father during the Rikti invasion and found out he used to be a hero himself. So, she trained, and now tries to live up to his ideals. She is proud, a little single minded and has an intense dislike for the Rikti, that boarders on hatred. She is learning, rather reluctantly, that there are some good Rikti who are against the War as well.
This is the bio of her Praestorian counter part.
Press release from the Ministry of Information: "Major Lance Sterling, soldier, commander and hero. But, to the young Riley Ann Sterling, he was also known as father. When he fell in battle it was a tragedy to everyone, but hit Riley particularly hard. Her father was her hero, in every sense of the word. He'd been there when she was born, trained her in self defense and even taught her Ti Chi. So, in honor to her father's name, his dedication and his loyalty to Praetoria, the Ministry of Information is proud to introduce Lady Praetoria, the Daughter of Praetoria and its newest staunch defender."
Riley is a propaganda tool, she is young, pretty and adores the attention her new position gets her. She was given a suit which modifies her self defense into powerful kinetic blasts. But, no one really expects her to go too far. She is for parades and parties, not the mean streets.
Someone forgot to tell Riley that.
BT does not have a Praetorian counterpart as of yet. Im still trying to work out the story there. The mask she wears that gives her the superpowers she uses to fight crime is a double edged sword infecting her if she sleeps with it on and releasing all the evil that she has worked so hard to stop. This manifests in a change in her apearance like so.

No evil twins... yet.
My only cross-over project right now is my Warshade. The human (Jason) and the WS ([unintelliglible static]Sk![more unintelligible static]) were starting to have problems with co-habitation, especially after going to a dimension where their alternate self(selves?) had conquered the planet and killed every human being. They both blamed the other, and Jason was strong-willed enough in his own right to keep Sk! suppressed for days at a time. (Jason was actually a mutant with energy manipulation and minor psi powers that he never developed.)
During combat with Mother Mayhem in the Praetorian dimension Sk!'s essence was ripped away from Jason. While Jason kept the WS powers (or thought he had kept them, hard to say) Sk! became a free-floating energy fragment, even weaker than a standard nictus. It is currently body-hopping in Praetoria, moniker is Citizen Doe - (Elec/Psi Dom with WS colored powers, a carryover of some of the powers taken from Jason.)
No special outfit right now, Sk! is hopping between men, women, maybe even a clockwork, ghoul, etc if I can make the outfit look good

My latest AE madness
I already had one evil twin - Max Thunder, counterpart to the heroic V-Max - who turned up on Primal Earth a couple of years back to help scout out this dimension for Marauder. Right now I'm playing out his backstory in Praetoria before deciding how I want to move forward with the character as he is today.
I do have some ideas on some of my other characters might have turned out under Cole's regime, but none that I feel like playing right now.

Faces of the City
Yep, made an evil Praetorian alternate of my main. Praetoria lends itself really well to playing a complete sociopath with a cruel streak - the possibilities are endless for hurting a bunch of people, then betraying your side, and going on to hurt a new bunch of people in different ways.

Now with Going Rogue out, and the wonderful Praetoria available, I was wondering if you guys made alternate versions of your main characters.
Some of you may know The Plain Walker, AKA Gregori Nazarov. He is green, filled with radiation and a very good soul. (Rad/rad defender, hero)
I made his Praetorian counter-part, Gregori Nazarov. He is not green, because he left Russia before the Chernobyl incident, leaving him a normal Ned instead of transforming into a mega Martin. Instead, he works for Neuron Technologies Unlimited, where he has built himself electric gauntlets that give him superhuman strength and power of electricity. (Elec/elec Brute, villain.)
So, any of you fashion yourself a goatee, or perhaps shave it off?
