  1. I don't post very often, but I am a veteran of the game since open beta. I will admit that I have enjoyed all of you outstanding videos, and this one was no exception. I too found myself sniffling at it.

We will always have our memories and thanks to you and what you have done, we can visit CoH anytime we watch one of your videos. Thank you for all of them, I am not sure I can say that enough.
  2. Quote:
Make the best out of the time you have left instead of clinging to an unrealistic future.
How about let people do what they feel in their heart is the right thing to do? Some want to fight until the end, which I think is noble. Others want to get in as much time as they can. Still others have moved on. The point is, none of these is the wrong thing to do, it is each person's choice.

To all those past and present, thanks for being part of the greatest Superhero MMO ever created. Keep up the good fight, and I hope to see some of you in game still.
  3. Save the Cheerleader....

    Save the World.

    Seriously, the studio, hands down.
  4. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/boy-...s-creates-one/

Touching story about how Marvel got a little boy to wear his hearing aid. Its really quite cool.
  5. Great I have been waiting for this event since the beginning of the year. Last year's Festival was a milestone for me. Not only did I meet someone who improved my RP in viture 100%, but I won Best of Show and the art was fantastic. Velvet Phantom will be there again, as I would not mis this for all the tea in China.
  6. Okay once again, a great, great read. I love Watcher's character, he is the perfect gentleman. I mean, to think of giving Joan a flower for bravery! That right there is the true meaning of it. I love the fact that Elena refinanced Rachel from the beginning of the story and how she will have to admit she was right.

These characters were masterfully done and the writing was a good mixture of funny, dramatic and touching. Kudos on a very nice work of fiction.

And yes, Watcher's Hand is full on awesome!
  7. Okay another moment for me. I hate olives on my pizza as well. (I think everyone hates anchovies.). Anyway and great read. I was on vacation from work this week, so no lateness for me. This has been a fantastic read and I have enjoyed it very much. Keep up the excellent work.
  8. Okay she called him buster and I about fell out of my chair laughing. Again, a great read. I am both looking forward too and dreading the end of this story. As, I will miss Elena, Walter, Tabby, Silver and all the rest.

    Keep up the good work.
  9. A very good read. Thank you for sharing this with us. I plan on checking out the link you posted. Keep up the good work.
  10. Very interesting beginning, I can't wait to read more.
  11. Yes, once again an excellent read. I should have seen the kidnapping coming, but to be honest I had forgotten about the statue in all the drama about the relationship.

I see others have posted, so I think we all agree, keep up the good work.
  12. Okay another good read. I know, because somewhere in reading it I was silently saying “come on Elena give him a chance”. I knew it awhile ago, but that reinforced it. I am officially hooked.

Its easy to tell a story of a hero, or even a story of a hero struggling for a normal life. This one though, started with Elena. You made us care about her, know her and the story is stronger for it. Keep up the excellent work, as I feel Walter and Elena's relationship is not resolved as of yet.

Also, I even like the side characters, from Ms. Goodfield to Blue Tabby and Silverslash. Each has their own personality and contribute well to the story.
  13. HA! I knew it all along.

Seriously, yeah kinda did, since the hints about the Trolls in Skyway. I didn't realize it was billed as a "surprise". However, it was another great read. Thank you and keep up the good work.
  14. Okay that was great. I know most of us wish our dates went that well. Still, it was nice to see not everything was perfect. And that Walter can make a mistake now and again. Well written elegant date and another thoroughly enjoyable read.

And yeah, incurable romantic at heart, so shoot me.
  15. Outstanding story. I thoroughly enjoy the characters and the situation to this point. I look forward to more.
  16. I completely agree. I am fed up with the self important so called “customers” who believe that in their universe nothing ever goes wrong and they never make a mistake or error in judgment. And who feel they are always right. And who are sarcastic when you bend over backwards for them because in their small minds you are “just doing your job”.

Anyone who feels that the Ncsoft/Paragon team is not THE most outstanding team of devs/community reps in the MMO business. Please I encourage you to go try others. Not a one of them would arrange a ustream to keep all of those who wish to watch it entertained. That's right, none, zip, zero, nadda have I ever seen this before. You can beta test things all day long, nothing stresses like live, period.

In closing. I would like to add my own heart felt thank you. This is the single best community/game/team of developers it has been my pleasure to interact with.
  17. I got pretty lucky in some of mine. However, I do agree with others. Not sure how often I will play here as Virtue is my home. But, will wait and see how bad the F2P storm is. (*wonders if this is 'The Coming Storm' foretold by Ouroboros? )

    Velvet Knight
    Roulette
    Taboo
    Icicle
    Jynx
    Stardancer
    Planet Girl
    Olympia

Not a bad round of names if I do say so myself.
  18. Okay just want to say, I had a pretty good time. Except that someone kept IM'ing me during it, which was of course, very distracting. I was Taboo, the shy one.

Anyway, I liked how it was going, and only left when a friend of mine came online, and I saw the frat bunch started turning it into silliness. Anyway, I actually impressed myself that I did speak up as much as I did. Here's hoping I didn't say anything too foolish sounding.

    Thanks Nalrok for the hosting.
  19. Okay been playing since Launch, so I have some really killer names. At least in my humble opinion.

Taboo-She's an Illusion empathy controller, my very first character I ever made. She's a sorceress, specializing in spirit magics. She like to dress in white and gold, simply because every magical based character I saw for months was in black. She is a bit sarcastic, and has been around Paragon for so many years she can be a bit cynical.

Icicle-Ice/Ice/Ice Blaster, naturally. One of my very few mutants.

Velvet Phantom-She got rerolled a couple of times, is currently a Martial arts/willpower scrapper. She follows in the path of her grandmother, the original Velvet Phantom from the Golden age of heroes.

Silk Silhouette – Kind of a homage character to Black Canary, without the sonic powers since as a scrapper you don't get that kind of cool stuff. Martial arts/super reflexes. She's a cop by day, and vigilante by night. Trying to bring in her former partners killer.

Impervium-Girl – Decided the “-” was better then a cheat like a upper case “I” for the end of girl. She is a Power girl homage style of character. A former Praetorian who got injections of a super formula to grant her super strength and invulnerability. It ended up being a plot by Praetor Berry to create a cadre of super powered soldiers. Since she was from Praetoria, she's a brute, not tanker.

I have some more, not as developed personality wise. Psilhouette is a mental blaster, Ms America a marital arts/shield scrapper in homage to Cap. And I have some Steampunk type characters who are thriving. Gaslight Harbinger, Gaslamp Hawk, Gentleman Stranger and Ophelia Oakley. Yes, far too much alt-ites for me.
  20. Seer 1381 (Katie Douglas) always touches my heart. I ran that arc the first time in closed beta for Going Rogue, and I was more interested in changing my morality back to loyalist, so for her morality mission I decided to change back to loyalist. When Katie cries out to me about betraying her it almost brought a tear to my eyes, I found myself saying “I'm sorry Katie.” out loud. After that, I never had the heart to betray her again. Every time I do her arc, I help save her sisters. Which of course caused a big shock for me the first time I left Praetoria thru the Resistance's portal. Being greeted by her and some of the freed Seers really warmed my heart. Superb writing.

Special Agent Jenni Adair's arc is very cool, As told by many people here, yes the part where you double dies is very shocking the first time you go through it. Its, that person you cannot save, no matter how super you are.

Seer Marino's arc, for all the reasons that have been stated and its just that cool.

There are some more, but those have always been some of my favorites. Much of the Praetorian content is very well done. Keep up the good work Devs.
  21. Goosesteppers - 5th Column

    Wannabes - Council

Bathrobe Bunch - Circle of Thorns

Sorority Girls – Knives of Artemis

    Frat Boys - Malta

Killer Clowns - Carnival of Shadows

    Robbers - Family
  22. Okay Atomic Gaslight's very first Costume Contest was a success. Sorry, no screen shots, as well its our first and no one thought to get any. Our winners are.

    1st Place Roxxy Rocket
    2nd Place Princess Sherbert
    3rd Place Gaslight Bat

    And two honorable mentions
    Mia Space
    Steam Maiden

However, the highlight for us was that not only did the Community Director Zwillinger show up, he gave away a Steampunk pack code to our winner! Once again, showing why City of Heroes is the best MMO out!
  23. The members of Atomic Gaslight are holding a Retro Sci-Fi costume contest Sunday, May 29th at 8 PM EDT, on Atlas's platform in AP. Prizes for the top 3 costumes. Come join the fun!

1st place prize 100 million inf
2nd place prize 75 million inf
3rd place prize 50 million inf

Lets see what everyone can do before the Steampunk Pac comes out.

(Atomic Gaslight is an RP SG. They are people who are not only displaced in time, but enjoy the values of a by gone era.)
  24. Eh “toon”, “Character”, “char” or even “digital representation”. I think we get too caught up in semantics. No wonder some people have a view of Rpers being elitists. Let the small stuff go.
Its just like the RP people like to do. The OP's way of Rping does not infringe on anyone else's RP in any way, shape or form. They were just sharing how they choose to RP their characters. I am one of those who tries to think of the character's back story, where they came from, how they got to be where they are. And yes, I will think of where they live, and what may go through there minds. Heck I consider that fun as well. However, I know not everyone does.

RP is a sort of personal experience we choose to share with others, but we each do make certain choices based on our personalities. For me, as long as it does not infringe on my RP (i.e causes my character harm, forcing me to do things I do not want to do, etc) I am good. I try my best to go with the flow as it were. And, honestly it has gotten me more involved then I ever used to be. Its rough being a 7 year veteran of the game and hardly be known by anyone on my home server of Virtue. Being shy and terribly afraid I am going to say something stupid didn't help. Still having gotten into some cool RP with some new friends and certain RP SG/VGs has helped a lot. And I salute the OP's post as a unique look at someone else's take on what they do.

Heck my main Velvet Phantom is a human, with martial arts skills and the will to keep fighting. I have RP'd her as getting hurt when defeated and sent to the hospital as well. But a few bruised ribs and some minor injures does not keep her out of the fight. However, I also let others heal her if they have the power to do so. That is my own take on it.
