Thank You, Paragon Studios and NCSoft

Goodbye may seem forever
Farewell is like the end
But in my heart's the memory
And there you'll always be

(sarcasm) Certainly. Thank you for doing what you're being paid to do. Woo. Totally deserves a thank you from your customers for doing your job. Like, for realz. (/sarcasm)
In all honesty, I 'blame' NCsoft for setting the deadlines the way they have and the various pressures being applied to the Paragon Studios team. Not that it matters who I assign the 'blame' to in all honesty. I'm merely a customer. And if nothing else, it has been shown precisely how valued the paying customers are(n't).

They should kill Durray in every issue!

Soo... Durray clones are now the new Regen Nerf?
(yup, showing my age in this game lol)

Amusing over the discrepancies in length tween this and the vent thread. Regardless, I say thumbs up to the Devs. Thanks for supporting this.

I completely agree. I am fed up with the self important so called customers who believe that in their universe nothing ever goes wrong and they never make a mistake or error in judgment. And who feel they are always right. And who are sarcastic when you bend over backwards for them because in their small minds you are just doing your job.
Anyone who feels that the Ncsoft/Paragon team is not THE most outstanding team of devs/community reps in the MMO business. Please I encourage you to go try others. Not a one of them would arrange a ustream to keep all of those who wish to watch it entertained. That's right, none, zip, zero, nadda have I ever seen this before. You can beta test things all day long, nothing stresses like live, period.
In closing. I would like to add my own heart felt thank you. This is the single best community/game/team of developers it has been my pleasure to interact with.

Its' a job. It pays the bills. They do it because it is something they wanted to do. Am I supposed to congratulate them for:
... showing up to work when their bosses tell them to?
... doing the work their bosses tell them to do?
... making the decisions their bosses tell them to?
... being reasonably competent in the general sense?
I'm supposed to thank them for doing these things? Really?
My "thanks", such as it is, comes in a monetary form.
I continue to pay them for their work. I act towards them and speak with them in a reasonable manner when I am forced to interact with them, in return for reasonable service and a reasonable product. In exchange for my "thanks" (read: money), I am allowed to play the game, to receive further service as needed within a reasonable response time and to otherwise be one of the hundred thousand nameless and faceless customers who don't cause trouble and who thereby are mostly ignored.
But! None of that matters to you. We must sing their praises, in addition to paying them for the privilege. Heh. When they do something exceptional, then I shall join the choir of praise or condemnation as appropriate. Until then? Pfft.
Aww. How cute. I touched a nerve. Isn't just so adorable?

When reviewers and players mention City of X's upstanding community, they're not referring to this "pfft" attitude. They're referring to a whole lot of people who are already GENUINELY VERY HAPPY to be here. You've excluded yourself from being a part of that club, and you don't speak for anyone but yourself when you balk at congratulating Paragon Studios for doing their job. It's a damn fine job they're doing. Hell yes, I'll congratulate them for it.

WORST MMO EVER!!!
Sorry but that voice blared into my head as I read your post. Can you blame me?

Thank-you Devs!!! I love this game!
Upstanding community in action in the post above I see.
Hey, we're not as bad as WoW's community!
...yet.
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
I'm sure you've lost patience with all the whining, USI-driven threads about the downtime and compensation demands, however I would like to say something different.
THANK YOU
That's right, thank you for bringing us an amazing game who's community I haven't been a part of for long but am already in love with, thank you for getting up at 1:30 am just to get the ETA 12 hour maint today out of the way with (something I doubt any other company would do unless scheduled for a night shift), thank you for striving to improve our game experience by upgrading those servers so they don't go bang when F2P starts, thank you for the amazing levels of community interaction and thank you for putting up with the complaining and whining patiently and with a smile.
Thank you, Paragon Studios and NCSoft for being totally damn awesome.
P.S. Just to address those who I know will call me out for "brown nosing"; First: nope, I'm conveying my genuine feelings about this company. Second: what the hell would I have to gain by brown nosing?
