They were probably referencing how long it would take to buy a purple recipe using alignment merits.

you mean as opposed to none? I say that cuz i play rather frequently on my lvl 50 and i may have recieved 2 purples since they released.

I think Endlessly hit the nail on the head.
Well this is just one character's experience but after running many missions before this past weekend and barely getting even any orange drops I've scored 2 purples in the space of 7 missions. One before the patch and one after. In addition to seemingly more salvage and temp weapons drops as well it did make me go Hmmmm!

Both are best possible cases, granted, and probably shouldn't be attempted by the type that wants to casually purple out their Warshade.

One of my characters... a Force Field Defender who only teams... got a purple drop AND a respec recipe drop within an hour of each other two days ago. Anecdotal, but if RNG has changed it hasnt hit me yet.
Don't know why this thread got trolled so bad. Within the first 2-3 posts it was confirmed that I was given false information. Done.
