It's not exactly the best or most impressivly coreographed fight scene in the world, but the hallway fight scene from Oldboy is one of my favorites.

This is what's great about these forums. You can post a joke and it can turn into a thread as fantastic as this!

Warning: Probably has French swearing.
I was going to mention that flick. One of my favorite action movies.

I need to go watch these when I'm not at work to see what you all have pointed out (don't know all the referenced films).

I always liked the shootout at the house from "'Four Brothers", not for over the top action but just intensely gripping and emotional.

edit: added the link (someone added music and took out the sound so its a bit *****, but I couldn't find another version after a quickhunt)

City of Heroes was my first MMO, & my favorite computer game.

<.< >.> The Fight scene between the werewolves and cullens versus the newborn vampires from Eclipse. What? that was a good action scene. *ducks from stuff being thrown at her*

The planning, rehearsing and execution of those shots is extraordinarily time-consuming, but so worth the effort. There's a ton of good stuff following that scene once they start trying to take out Mad Dog. The shootout in the warehouse is also rather awesome, and the opening scene in the tea house is incredible, as well. "Give the man a gun and he thinks he's Superman! Give him two guns and he thinks he's God!" Love that movie.

The fight scene in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" between Yu Shu Lien and Jen Yu (Michelle Yeoh and Ziyi Zhang, respectively) is also outstanding.

And I have to agree with a few people above -- I didn't like what was happening to the horses too much in the initial clip. Plus, stuff just seemed to be happening for no apparent reason other than "hey, wouldn't it look cool if...."
I know the Hard Boiled action scene, I own the film.

I like the one in Kick-*** because of how they use Chloe Moretz's/Hit Girl's size in that scene. The 4 months of training she had and the great wire work is just amazing. I mean climbing on the backs of her kills, the running around through that gun fire and the moves they thought up off were just amazing.

A personal favorite of mine

the double shotgun ratchet was done by Bale in one take. it was something a burly stuntman could not pull off.

Duel of the Fates was pretty awesome fight music.

Call me a traditionalist, but I always loved the lobby fight scene from the Matrix and the Bride vs. the Crazy 88 in Kill Bill. The one to get the biggest reaction from me, though, wasn't really much of a fight at all--the elevator scene in the very last episode of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex 2nd Gig. Think I replayed that in slow motion a dozen times...

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

There have been many action scenes that have been far better, but the absolute greatest beginning to an action scene has always been this one from the film Billy Jack.

Billy Jack

Really?

Really.

I have to nominate the Freeway chase scene from Matrix: Reloaded. Even though the film itself has a number of flaws, this scene (I should point out the clip edits out some dialogue, focusing on the action, which I think is a good thing in this case) is just a sheer adrenaline rush. Every time you think it's over, it ramps up another notch. Plus, flying guy in a trenchcoat.

Edit: I just watched this...it's truly heart in your mouth type stuff, and the music never ever lets up. Probably one of the finest sequences of its kind.

Ronin, Bullitt, The French Connection, The Blues Brothers. All great car chases. There's no denying this.

I can't find a link, but there is an AWESOME and brutal car chase near the middle of "The Corruptor," starring Chow Yun Fat and Mark Wahlberg. Not too many people saw it in theaters, but it's one of those underrated gems that you can find in the $5 DVD bins. Solid movie and it's well worth the effort to find.

Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!

Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.
