Wonderful...see you guys soon!

I'd love to get back to PAX again but not this year, alas.

Apparently CoH isn't actually going to be part of NCsoft's booth? That seems a little weird, especially with GR being freshly-released at the time. On the other hand, maybe it's because of GR's release -- they'll need the devs back in the studio, working feverishly on post-ship patches.

Better hurry if you want to buy tickets to PAX.

The 3 day badge is already sold out as is the Saturday badge. The Friday badges and Sunday badges are still showing available, but there's no telling for how long.

In other words, with the CoH Panel being set for Saturday and the Meet & Greet set for Saturday, you can't buy tickets to PAX that will cover that particular day.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Neither here nor there about attending PAX, but I will definitely be at the M&G in Seattle!

Why wont there be anything at the NCsoft Booth??? Some people are asking this on the FaceBook page and wondering why and asking if NCsoft is planing to pull plug or back off of CoH ? Hope we can hear something more here and address this to FB, Thank you 8)

In line with keeping our collection of convention exclusives complete, Kid Engineer and I will be coming up for PAX as well. We just picked up PAX tix for Friday.

We also plan on being at the M&G. It seems we'd just about have to, we /did/ get engaged at the PAX M&G two years ago after all, it just wouldn't seem right to be in town and not go.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Nice to see they will be there again this year.

I just have one question - Will the "Meet and Greet" be an all ages event so that those of us with children who play the game can bring them along?

Damnit and I was just about to get my saturday ticket. Oh well I guess I'll have to stand in line with the dregs.

IMPORTANT: Does this mean they won't be selling CoX merch??!?! I NEEED MY BUTTONNNSSS among other things.

As with all past con M&Gs, the M&G for PAX Prime is not located within the convention venue and you do NOT have to have a pass for the con to go to the M&G.

Even though tickets are sold out for the day that the COH panel is being held, I highly encourage players who are considering it to buy passes for whichever days are still available. You can use Saturday morning/afternoon for sightseeing...there's lots of fun things to see and do around these parts!

The M&G is at a local Pub, 21 and over only

On a good note I will make arrangements for me and my wife to show up for the M&G

Does this mean we won't be able to pick up the costume code on the convention floor? Will it only be available at the meet and greet (maybe at the panel)? Also, it's concerning that you wont be at the NCSoft booth...

Judging from the announcement, it looks like the costume codes have to be picked up at the M&G.

I too find it concerning that COH/V will not be represented at the NCSoft booth this year. Considering Going Rogue's release is *just* before the convention, it sounds like PS is loosing out on a prime marketing opportunity.

It makes me sad that COH isn't going to be on the convention floor. I was REALLY looking forward to that possibility myself. And it does seem rather silly especially with GR having just launched.

I mean really? What else does NCSoft have that could be better then that for a gaming convention. Aion? Guild Wars 2? I don't see why the booth isn't shared. But this is a major marketing opportunity the game is going to be missing out on.

Sorry, makes me sad is all. I was hoping I'd still get my CoH fix while at the convention, but alas, its not to be.

I also really wanted the ghoul costume code that was given out in San Diego. So poo.

NCSoft probably wanted to shave a few bucks off their convention budget, so they bought a smaller space and shorted City of Heroes.

Like everyone else, I think that's crap. Let's be honest, City of Heroes probably isn't NCsoft's biggest game right now, but being just as honest, it probably has the most to gain in terms of subscribers and revenue from publicizing it at the specific time that this event is being held, and NCsoft should be focusing hot and heavy on it. Where's Black Pebble? Why isn't he raising holy hell at corporate HQ over this? I really feel like City of Heroes is the red-headed stepchild of NCsoft, and while I appreciate the development resources they've thrown at the game, they need a more holistic approach to making it not just very cool, but very popular as well.

I swear, sometimes I think that City of Heroes is designed to be an out-of-game exercise in frustration for its players. One arm of NCsoft (the developers and resources allocated to them) is spot on and doing all the right things, while the other arm (marketing and promotion) is practically sabotaging the game.

Great news! We're coming out with this really keen expansion that everyone who plays it will absolutely LOVE!!!*

* ...but we're not going to promote it, so hardly anyone will know about it.

You have a willing base of fans who will make videos, create merchandise, post on social networks, and who want to bend over backwards to help you, but we can't do it without your help. Frankly, it's extremely disheartening to us when we feel like we care more about the game than NCsoft's own marketing department.

At any rate, I'll toss this out, too. Not to rain on anyone's parade, but I really wish that you guys would consider coming down to Dragon*Con in Atlanta instead of to Pax at some point. I'm not asking that you come here every year instead, but you've done Pax for a few years in a row now, and next year, I really would like you to think about spreading the City love around. Yes, we have fewer people, but not that many less. Plus, the people at Dragon*Con are almost an entirely different group of people to reach, versus seeing a relatively large percentage of the same people who saw you last year and the year before.

We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)

If COH/V's lack of presence on the PAX Prime convention floor this year is a sign of things to come, I don't see why they couldn't consider doing both conventions in the future. The whole reason they couldn't do Dragon*Con in the past was because they needed the crew to man the booth for the entire convention. If they don't have a presence at the booth, then they don't need people to man the booth...which means more time to play with and less expended in payroll expenses. There's no reason why they couldn't send two smaller crews to each con or have one crew fly from SFO to SeaTac, do their panel and M&G at PAX early in the convention, fly from SeaTac to Atlanta, then do their panel and M&G at Dragon*Con late in the convention.

To paraphrase:
'Apparently CoH isn't actually going to be part of NCsoft's booth? That seems a little wrong, especially with GR being freshly-released at the time'

Well that just stinks that you'd announce what day you have a panel AFTER that day sells out. So now we can't even stop by the booth and ask questions or anything?

Nuts.

I'm taking my oldest to his first PAX @ 10am sunday. It's a two hour drive. He's gonna feel more than little disappointed that he won't see first hand the booth with City of Heroes/Going Rogue walls I've shown him pictures of.

Ok, I'm done being ranty McRantrant now...as you were...

The same thing happened at PAX East. PAX attendees don't wait for the panel schedule to be released and the 3-Days and Saturday passes *always* sell out early for PAX. But they sold out even earlier than usual for PAX Prime this year...3-Days sold out in mid-June and the Saturday passes sold out shortly thereafter. Guessing it is probably due to the con's increasing popularity coupled with it being their 10-year anniversary.

Paragon has their hands tied by PAX's pre-con schedule...they submit a request to the PAX organizers for the panel and can't announce their panel until they hear if or when their panel will be during the con. If you look at PAX's website, the organizers haven't even released the schedule for the convention yet (even though we're 25 days from the con). I'm guessing given that the Paragon Studios folks announced their panel before the official schedule was posted (and made their announcement earlier than in years past), they made the announcement as soon as they were able (i.e. got the green light from the PAX organizers). Basically, don't put too much of the blame on the Paragon Studios folks...much of the problem is with how PAX is planned and organized.

Best suggestion I can make for people who want to attend Saturday for this year's con (but did not get tickets in time) is to put in a request in the Have a Ticket/Need a Ticket thread on the PAX official forums (http://forums.penny-arcade.com/showt...3814)...people who arrange for their passes to be sold in this thread should only be selling them at face per the forum rules. There's lots of requests right for passes right now, but who knows...you may get lucky. Can also give ebay or Seattle's Craigslist (http://seattle.craigslist.org/) a try. I saw a couple listed on ebay and quite a few listed on Craigslist. But beware the scalpers...they are unfortunately aplenty.

P.S. I too am rather disappointed that they will not be at the NCSoft booth this year. Full of fail.
