Your MOST enjoyable toon
When I figure it out I'll let you know !!!
I enjoy far too many for far too many reasons.
The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.
If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-
My Fire/Fire Dom. This is a build I'd recommend to anyone who isn't afraid of IOs and likes high risk, high reward characters.

The most fun character for me during the whole run to 50 was my Thugs/Dark Mastermind. An absolute beast right from the get-go, only getting more beastly as she got more and more of her key powers and more sets in her powers. A real blast to play, she is.
Hrm. Difficult to say. I think I'll go with Togglobite, my Toggle Man-inspired Spines/Dark Scrapper. He's the only character I've managed to IO out (by necessity, as he couldn't function properly without all the Recovery bonuses), and I managed to do so almost completely as planned (I'm just missing some of those ridiculously expensive Recovery procs from the Healing sets). Getting to 50 with very few click attacks, none of which are slotted, was a strangely satisfying, though tedious, accomplishment.

All things considered, even after more than 3-1/2 years of playing, my favorite is still Blood Speaker himself, my necro/dark/soul mastermind. I ended up building him as a tankermind before I'd even heard the term, and it can be... oddly soothing to casually drive him around a +1/x8 PI mayhem map and leave it utterly devoid of "life"... no more cops or Longbow, bank robbed, all side mishes done, every breakable object broken and all civilians terrorized off the map.
But I'm odd.

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.
Electric Melee/Electric Armor brute. Mostly this is because I love the brute playstyle (STEP 1: Find a thing to hit. STEP 2: Hit it until it falls down. Step 3: Without stopping to think, GOTO 1), but the Electric sets are also pleasingly flashy and subtle at the same time (love how the electric armor effects slowly stack up as you grow more powerful).
I get that you CAN "play anything"; that's not really the point of telling you "pick something that fits your playstyle". The point of that is there's probably a playstyle that you will intrinsically enjoy more than another, and you should figure out what that is, and play a thing that does that. If nothing does that for you.. you should look for a game that does. ;D
6 years in, and my ma/sr namesake is still the most enjoyable. status protection is incredibly important, good damage, and over the years i have managed to whittle down the look to exactly how i want him. I do tend to vacillate a bit as far as epics go, the ONLY conceptual thing id need is frost breath(he is a dragon) but otherwise, its largely a concept thing, he hits like a truck, survives a significant amount of damage and looks damn good. plus over the years, ma/sr has seen an amount of changes that have kept him feeling fresh.
Usually whatever I just started playing, but I gotta say, my bots/traps MM is really standing out as amazing fun.
I really enjoy using my namesake, Snowzone, an Ice/Cold Controller. He's mostly complete as far as IOs are concerned (just some LotGs left to get and I'm terrible when it comes to inf management :P). He can't put out much damage but he can lock down a mob or two really quickly and turn a losing battle into a solid win. It was a hard slog to lvl 50 but I got there and now it's a blast.
I have loads of other Controllers (it, along with Dominators, are the only ATs that I enjoy using) but they're mostly stuck either because I don't enjoy them as much as I could for whatever reason or because I forget about them.
I have two 50s. One's my Kat/Regen scrapper, the other is my DB/Nin stalker. I leveled up the stalker before the stalker-buffs were introduced, so that should tell you something about how much fun I had playing that toon. I still drag them out from time to time to test arcs, maybe grind for kewl l00t on occasion, but I can't really say I "play them" anymore.
Obviously I favor the run-into-the-crowd-and-chop-away sort of playing, but I've also greatly enjoyed my Bots/Dark too, sadly claimed by altitis at the tender age of 47th level. (Hm, maybe it's time I dig out that DB/WP brute and get him past 31st too)
I also really enjoy playing support on a large team too, I feel a tad less pressure to hang back, buff/debuff and fire from a distance; the current example is my FF/DP defender.
Since I can't really pick just one (it seems), this may tell you while I'm still here playing this game.
Illusion/Storm/Pyre
Total unmitigated chaos.

Hey guys, I've been making so many different alts ever since I came back to CoH about a month ago that I pretty much filled up 2 empty servers already. I've made some pretty fun toons but it still doesn't feel like I've made one that I really wanted to play. It's time I ask for some input from the community, please help!
Please post the most enjoyable toon that you've ever played. I know it's hard to narrow it down to one, but please do. I don't want your top 2, I don't want your top one from each archetype, I don't want your favorite villain and your favorite hero, just post one and I will make whichever one that sounds good to me. Also, there is no "it depends on what your style of play is, each archetype and powersets function differently." I can play anything and fill in any role on a team. I may PvE or PvP or solo or team as well, it really doesn't matter. Just post your favorite :] Thanks! |
1. Fortunata: I love her so much that I made a tank-troller build and a Blood Widow build as second build. She can solo extremely well and offers great buffs for the team and damage. I took 4 leaderships. As for the Blood Widow build, it is basically Night Widow except I focus on Follow Up and I don't use stealth. She runs double Maneuver and each attack has chance for "knockdown" since NW has no controls. She just runs in and starts slashing. I like the Fortunata build more just because she is very versatile. I use Gloom in attack chain and all ranged.
2. My 2nd most favorite toon to play (except for Mothership raid because those aoe damage kills my pets too fast) is Merc/Storm. I love Merc only because it's not Robot or Thug. I enjoy being a bit different. They damage ok damage once you put procs in them. /Storm on MM is just super strong because the debuff from freezing rain value is the same as Corruptor because it's based on "pet value". I can heal others, debuff and controls though knockbacks. Loves it!
3. My 3rd favorite toon is Necro/Pain. Necro isn't too good in pve but I enjoy pairing it with Pain. I put 4 pet uniques in Soul Extraction so my pets can survive much better. I took aoe stun aura from patron power tool and /pain is a good set to offset the damage-self. I used to run this build with an old friend and he and I can just run in and stun most things since MM's stun aoe aura has larger radius.
Honorable mention:
Plant/Psi Dominator (pre-shockwave nerf. I haven't played him after shockwave nerf)
Claw/Will Stalker: I enjoy aoe stalker.
Spine/Nin Stalker
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
My mind/thorn dom.
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):

Wild Streak - Lv. 50(+3) Beast Mastery/Sonic Resonance Mastermind, Amnesty - Lv. 50 Staff Fighting/Dark Armor Stalker

No, most of us understand that... but most of us can't pick just one. I picked the four (out of MANY) that I have enjoyed enough to invest much of my time and money in.

*shrugs* Just the way I did it.

Past those four, I don't think I could pick just one... 'cause they each fill very different roles that satisfy whatever I'm feeling like playing at a particular moment (which changes now and again, mind you).

My Ma/Sr scrapper. I love being in melee, and I like being able to go AFK while i'm standing in a mob solo and not having to worry.
Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.

My first character, my main and my badger: DB/WP stalker.
Yes. A stalker and DB too boot. I loved the sounds from the first attack. I love the combos (oddly I can't get into the other AT's DBs; their combo's are different). Fantastic mitigation in form of the knockdowns, 1000 cuts and the Sweep combo is my AoE and willpower is just beautiful. I miss it every time I play another secondary and get mez'd.*
I'd exemp'd down last night to help a friend out. "I can one shot pretty much anything up to orange." I tell him. *Trundles up to red Arachnos* *STAB* *Dead Arachnos* "And red", I amend. Friend: "LOL". Later that got changed to purple. Ah good evening's stabbing that.

The guy is pretty much unstoppable.
Need to sink some more cash into his build.

As people have said, it's hard to pick one... it really comes down to my mood. But, if I had to pick, I'd say my Earth/Fire (perma) Dominator. She has pretty much everything I tend to enjoy in a character--respectable at both AoE and ST damage, survivable through active mitigation that will get me killed if I stop paying attention for a few seconds, good solo and powerful enough that I can see my assistance in groups. One of the maybe three characters I still play at all post-50.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
I like getting in the face of enemies, so melee or visibly affecting foes is the way for me. I've found that I dislike toons that have to focus on buffing too much. So I have a lot of characters that I like, and my favorite ones are the ones that get in the enemy's face.
So... my current most enjoyable toon is an Energy/Energy Blaster. Lots of knockback, able to dish out damage up close and afar... and flashy. Love it.

Grey Pilgrim: Fire/Fire Tanker (50), Victory
If I have to pick one, I'd have to go with my Dark Melee/Invulnerability tanker. Not my fastest killing machine -- that honor would go to my Electric/Mind blaster or Spines/WP scrapper -- she doesn't need to be, because she has all the time in the world.

The most fun character for me to play is my namesake Inv/EM tanker. Just being able to jump into a huge group of enemies and stand there taking practically no damage at all is just so awesome. You really feel like a super-hero if your "Invulnerability" powerset actually makes you invulnerable. xD
Plus, this is probably just my opinion, EM's animations look awesome. Yeah, they're long, but they still look really cool. Huge charge-up and then *POW* right in the kisser!
